  1. I regularly have his stuff on my recommended list. Main problem is that he's so calm about it all and makes it look so easy that it gives me overconfidence to try it. Luckily the item sold so I don't have to put that to the test. Thanks for the info.
  2. Thank you. Just the straight advice I’d need. saw a beautiful Aria Ric copy but the neck had a very exaggerated positive pitch. I guess if I really needed to get it I could convert the glued neck to a bolt in.
  3. If the neck is set with a positive pitch at the neck joint, can the glued set necks be shimmed or adjusted to lower the action, or is the owner left with having to deal with the ole idea of using a positive pitched neck to reduce fretbuzz? I know you could do it with a bolt-on, but how they intended for folks to adjust a set neck is puzzling me?
  4. There's actually a red 4 string on ebay, a '97 with Suhr electronics, with no bids at £669. I have no idea why no-one is biting. Looks like the same one on reverb and dropped to around £850. Markets are weird.
  5. Reading this post with interest in the engineering aspects. Quick question Kiwi: How much would a "neck-through" length neck cost over your regular scale necks that fit to different bodies? Couldn't you build a single neck length that people could sandwich between 2 pieces of a body shape that mimic their favourite body style, and then fit the correct scale fingerboard for their needs? Slotted bolt holes for the bridge could allow the placement to be made for the scale length of choice. Would the difficulty lie in the pickup placement spaces weakening the structure? Maybe you need a "distribution agent" in the UK to take delivery of several at once, reducing shipping and import fees to one shipment.
  6. Gods, this is gorgeous. I have a matching Jazz Deluxe from '98. That era is amazing. I'd have to chuck a load of stuff on auction to get the matching set though.
  7. Thanks @Dood, if my guy proves too expensive on his quote I'll give them a shout.
  8. It's still in US power supply config, so it's off to a tech. Anyone know where I can get a decent source of trim to replace what's missing?
  9. He sees a P-bass and he wants to paint it black.
  10. Are the necks like a jazz profile on these?
  11. Thanks folks. Yes that’s it then. I couldn’t see it on equipboard or anything unless it’s hidden in the comments.
  12. It's one of those things that people don't realise how good they are until they try them. I have two, need to sell one, and just can't believe they don't move as fast as they should on ebay or here.
  13. Hi Lefty, have you binned these yet? I have two Squiers I need to sell and ship.
  14. Ignore me, it's late and I'm a muppet. Didn't realise it's the same video because you linked a timestamp, and it's not the answer video. *sigh*.
