1.
Nice to meet you Mart Well so far so good, picked the Lakland up Saturday and did it first gig Saturday night ! A full 1 1/2 hour set straright through as well, so no messing about! I found the bass comfortable and didnt notice the extra weight The Villex pup is superb, nice and clear and plenty of tonal adjustment Once I got the hang of how it all works and alters the sound its superb I found it very punchy and with the mid boost could alter the amount of 'attack' to my sound All in all I'm very pleased, probably do a back to back with my P-Bass at some point . . . . . . . but I might have a Fender USA P-Bass with S1 in Butterscotch, black scratchplate and Maple neck up for sale soon.
Hi Adee, glad to see you like the electronics. Reading the thread I felt like an artist at an auction where his picture is sold. Weird since I just sell the pickups, not make them. GreeneKing must have been feeling even more of the same... though how he could let this bass go is beyond me
 2.
Err, buy it and follow the instructions and it's not difficult, get a friend to help etc Let everyone know how you get on.
Hi there, I thought I'd stop by! I'll see if I can re-phrase what GreeneKing said - The booster has three contacts. In, Out and Ground. Take the 'hot' wire going to the 'tip' of the jack socket. Solder it to the 'In' contact of the booster instead. Connect 'Out' contact of the booster to the 'tip' contact of the jack socket, and 'Ground' to ground, and you're in business! Tigran
 3. Absolutely gutted, but I won't be able to come because of circumstances beyond my control! Sorry guys, Tigran
 4.
Sounds like a deal!
Sounds good! Bring your basses over, I'll have PRTB in a box so you can plug your basses in and hear the difference it makes! Tigran
 5. Hi Everyone, I will be exhibiting at my second guitar show. I will have a jazz bass with Villex pups and the PRTB booster with me, as well as a Strat fitted with PRTB booster and a jack booster. I will have some precision and jazz pickups to pick up at a show special price, as well as the boosters. These are great shows for GASoholics - come and see for yourself!
im looking to replace the pickups in me peavey grind 6 string bass, im just wondering if you make 6 string pickups??
Hi BassManKev, I am sure we can sort something out - can you send me the dimensions? Email me on [email protected] or pm me on this website. Tigran
 7. Hi Everyone, I thought I'd give you a chance to read the review on Villex Jazz Bass pickups which goes on sale today! Any comments or questions welcome! Click on the top of the image to read it properly. Tigran
 8.
Built-in distortion/overdrive. Already been done on a few but if there was a nice onboard distortion with a couple of different sounds, and maybe with the low-end filtered out and clean (or lows coming from another pickup), that'd be ace.
Would you buy an onboard overdrive if there was one available? Please vote and tell me why! If there is enough interest we could provide one fairly quickly!
 9.
Built-in distortion/overdrive. Already been done on a few but if there was a nice onboard distortion with a couple of different sounds, and maybe with the low-end filtered out and clean (or lows coming from another pickup), that'd be ace. Also, I think a flanger type comb-filter would be nice. So you'd have a knob for controlling the delay between signals, then you could choose which part of the sweep you wanted it on a leave it there. Loads of tonal options there. Also you could play with hammer-ons and make time-synched flanger sounds by moving the knob! It's a winner.
Very interesting point on distortion! We can produce one very easily (a passive one for onboard installation), and we discussed this a while ago internally. We came to a conclusion that most players wouldn't like to put one in their guitar/bass! So I am really anxious to know whether more people would be inerested. Will have to come back to you on a flanger type comb-filter - are there any active ones I could read on? Tigran
 10. Hi Everyone, Many thanks, Fullrangebass! I invited Fullrangebass to post his review here, so you can look at it as an independent product preview. It's not on the website yet. I will be getting a set, putting it in a bass and submitting the bass for a review here in the UK; but that will take 2-3 months, and I thought this would be a good way to give you all heads-up. Tigran
 11.
standard pickups but in wooden covers instead of plastic, like p,j or soapbar style.
Standard pickups? Mmm... How would one go about all the different wood finishes then? Tigran
 12.
Make pickups for ERBs, esp 9/10/11 strings.
We do, as special orders. Tigran
 13.
My old Listerud had MM style Bassculture neodynium pickups with flamed maple covers - having made a couple of customs I'd have loved to have used something similar instead of the usual black plastic SD's or Barts (ebony covers on one, maple on the other). Be pricey, I guess.
We can accept a custom order with pickup covers provided by the customer. Would be hard to make covers for all tastes and it's not exactly our core area, but if you want to make your own we will happily fill it with Villex magic. If you are interested we can discuss this further.
 14.
I'd like to see an MM/J system developed where the output is the same, regardless of whether 1, 2 or 3 coils are selected. This is the major drawback of all the HS stingrays I've tried because it means I'd have to adjust the gain on the amp every time the pickup settings are changed. +1 on the sustainer Very cool for fretless, I can set up a mild feedback effect on my Pentabuzz if the amp is loud enough and that sustains and swells wonderfully.
Hi Crazykiwi, I am getting a lot of suggestions on various coil switching options. What I can't get my head around is why have coil switching at all when you can have a passive mid control which allows to achieve similar effect in a sweepable control with no hum? Sustainer does sound like an interesting idea.
 15.
what about a pickup that runs from the end of the neck to the bridge that doubled up as a ramp with a control to select where abouts on it you want it to pick up. that would be cool
I have a feeling someone already has done that. I'll send you a link when and if I can find it. Tigran
