I am looking to put a bass in the marketplace section on behalf of a friend. I have no idea where to start re price. It's a Cort GB 34 in red with white plate, about 12 months old and in very good condition. It's not the type of bass I would buy or probably look at in a shop (i'm a bass snob sorry). Comes with a cheepoo bass bag, so come give me a clue so I can put in the for sale section. Ta very glad BIGd

I think we are being a bit up ourselves. Yes we are musicians just as the rest of the band but at the studio/gig with a sound engineer just ask it really does work very well. Isn't it good that other members of the group/band you are in are interested in what type of bass you use, and notice what you are or are not using. I feel it a bit odd you see this as a negative thing. Maybe I have missed the point but I can't see what you have to moan about. I do agree with you I was disappointed by the TV rock band show, but then again it is for the masses who are only really interested in the singer and lead guitarist they don't really want to know about the music makers of the band. Just my 2p worth Ta very glad BIGd
"....just a feeler...." WTF?
This has got to be the winner. If it's a feeler you need, go see your girlfriend, wife, boyfriend etc. sex acts are not performed in our for sale department. Personally I think my basses would just get in the way, or am I doing it wrong. Ta very glad BIGd -
I think that you are better off posting pix if you really want to sell. I often casually turn up at threads like this and then give serious consideration based on what an instrument looks like.
Yep I'm interested but need photos before going any further. -
If you look here you should be able to find the part number for a replacement cone : JBL Pro and then look here Cimple Spares for the replacement cone price. Might be worth looking at the cost of a replacement driver as well - sometimes the driver isn't much more than the cone and you don't have to spend time gluing the cone into place. Andy
Thanks just the info I was looking for, I will follow this up and get it sorted. Ta very glad Dale

Thats for that Jake. Only problem with pics is I'd have to take all the cab apart just to take them, then reassemble. I don't really have the room for this, if I was repairing it then not a problem, if you follow my drift.

I have been given a set of JBL eon 15" passive speakers, very nice if they worked. For some reason, I take it an attempt at repair one of the 15" drivers has been cut out, just the cone bit. Does anybody know if this can be replaced, after having a look myself the fittings of this cone is not what I would call normal. Also and the real big question, would it be expensive to get sorted ? Ta very glad Dale

Sight reading is a case of playing lots of different music that you probably wouldn't choose to play. A good exercise you could try is, get a large music book let it fall open at any page look at the vital statistics ie. time sig, key & tempo then play it. Don't stop if you make a mistake, the more you do this the less mistakes you should make, well hopefully. I think it is really a self teach type of thing and is down to self practice. If you think you can handle the parts then go for it, what have you got to lose. If you can get a cast recording from a production it will prob be in the correct keys so should be good to work with. Your idea of getting a copy of the score is a great one, but see if you can borrow it as full scores can be really expensive. Best of luck Ta very glad Dale
