Due to a serious miscalculation and singular aversion to pedals this purchase is up for sale. Bought on a whim to fatten up the vocals it works great when I can be bothered. We dont gig a lot and I am travelling more with my work, hobby rock on permanent hold, toys have to go. http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/VE-20/ It cost me the thick end of £200.00, I'll take £145.00 posted to your UK address. Thanks for looking.

My thruppence for what it is worth. I went from 34" fretted to 35" fretless (unlined) on a whim, well it was my 60th birthday ......I got Chris at Overwater to put dots on the fretboard similar to the NS Uprights for sight assistance. I then pursuaded myself I needed a 35" fretted, I though that same scale would assist me, it did I practised on the fretted and gigged on the Fretless whilst experiencing similar issues with 'sound' and 'tone' as mentioned in previous posts in this thread. I use nylon flats and as it does'nt suit every tune I use the fretted. IMO lined would'nt be the way to go, as also mentioned your ear will tell you when notes are #/b. Do it...

Last Bass I bought brand new that I tried in a Shop was my Thumb NT 4, 1990. Bought my Overwater fretless thingy magic when I was in Baku Azerbaijan, specc'ed via E-Mail and over the phone with Laurence and Chris picked it up for my 60th (it was a surprise to myself). Bought a Status Streamline 5 same way last year dealt with Rob and Dawn over the 'phone and e-mail and bought a fretted Overwater from Chris and Laurence also last year to match the fretless (scale length etc etc ). Had to sell the Spector and the Dean but .............. Happy person, just need to learn to play now.

I’m glad that Mike has put his tuppence in instead of insinuating he has been scammed. Only Mike and I know what has happened here, he knows he sent me a 120V amp without declaring it at the outset and then assured me it works perfectly. So we have established it is a 120V supply despite it working on 240V as claimed. To suggest that I might have had it modified is ludicrous, I received the Headlite and Amplite on Tuesday 22nd March looked at them, the Headlite obviously wasn’t UK Voltage I engaged in mails with Mike to resolve this issue, it was not to be resolved. I packed them up Thursday 24th March and asked a colleague to post them whilst on Holiday once I confirmed cash in my account. They are still under my desk waiting to go, they have not left the office since arrival. I am in work for 07;00Hrs my partner also works we live 20 Miles outside of Aberdeen couriers charge more for delivery goods take longer to arrive it is more convenient to have items delivered to the office especially if I am overseas. Cosmo’s Spector was picked up from the office, the Dean Pace I sold was picked up from the office, a T/E V Type 4 x 8 combo was sent to the office a line 6 XT Bass Pod Live was sent to the office, all deals on Basschat. If an independent third party is prepared to plug this Headlite into 240Volts and pay for any damage that ensues I’m quite happy to go with that. However, Class D amps run hot, I have an AER AMpOne I have experience with this. How hot a Stamped 120Volt would run at 240V is anybody’s guess and I suspect that is why this Amp came on the Market. This deal would have been smoother or not happened had Mike been upfront with the Voltage, that’s the issue, Caveat Emptor, and my fault for not pursuing the lack of clarity in my transformer question, which with the revelation that the Amp wont work on a step down transformer means I have a useless Amp! Thanks for your input Mike, you and I know it won’t change this stalemate. I suggest that all posts to this thread be curtailed but it be left as a reminder that things might not be what they seem. This is the mail sent to me, note the date and time From: Mike Greenwood to:mg*****@hotmail.co.uk] Sent: 23 March 2011 16:12 To: Brian Norris Subject: RE: Green Goddess Best all round if you send them back to me and I'll give you a refund. MG Geesters "Scam Post" was started 23rd March at 17:04, 52 minutes after he said send them back....................... I rest my case. Should a Moderator want to see this thread no problem, at all. Point taken Cosmo, but it had to be done.
Thanks Brian As I've said a few time above, we need threads like this to remind us how risky deals can be and how convoluted they can get. All I can say about the above 7 pages is that I hope you get things sorted out to your satisfaction, and that when you have, I hope you can explain it all to the rest of us! Skank's people will be in touch re the film rights. C PS OP = original poster
Phew! I thought it was Old Pratt. This will not be resolved until Mike refunds my money and I return the goods. He either does not have the money to refund or the balls to admit the deal was wrong at the outset or both.....................it won't happen. Lets move on I've made the point. Brian
I disagree, it goes one of two ways in this type of thread, levity or acrimony. I prefer the former. The plot of this particular transaction is way too deep and complex to enable anyone not directly involved to form a reliable opinion (unlike last night's in which both parties made their case in the first few posts and left the membership to debate the rights or wrongs). Apologies to the OP if he disagrees, but I doubt he posted expecting any resolution via this thread.
Guys, your right Beedster, I did not post this thread expecting to resolve an issue that was not of my doing, all avenues had been exhausted. And as mentioned by another BC, a seperate thread already posted specifically to pre-empt a response from me about being shortchanged on a deal, especially after asking the Transformer question. I have told this as it is, should any moderator want me to forward the e-mail trail from Mike to me and back at my business e-mail address no problem. It was started as Caveat Emptor and thats what I wanted to do make everybody aware that dubious deals can still get thro the net. OP? Ask yourself a question guys, the casing says 120Volts, the manual says only connect the right mains voltage, the seller says its OK .......................would you? I think I have said enough and all you guys irreverant or not have highlighted various aspects of this unfortunate case. Let it serve as a reminder "Its a jungle out there". Thanks for taking an interest I have achieved what I set out to do, bring it to the attention of the forum. Brian
Interesting. Geester's thread appears to be a pre-emptive defense.
Yes, just as he said send them back for a refund............

Gentlement, I just wanted a straight deal, it did'nt happen, I asked for my money back, he agreed to refund pending return of the goods, I wanted a reversal of the deal, i.e. I sent him money he sent me Amps, reversed it's simple, he sends me money I send him Amps. They are packaged ready to go have been since before I went on Holiday. I appreciate all the comments and I did wonder about the wisdom of posting, but I feel justified in attempting to illustrate how a deal can go wrong (in my experience). I think posting it in feedback would have been a second option, I posted here as this is where it happened. Just as a matter of interest anything I have bought has been posted to my place of work as I travel. My last two new bass purchases (Status, August 2010 & Overwater October 2010) were deliverd to my place of work. It is an unfortunate state of affairs and one that should have been resolved by Mike re-banking my money and me sending back the goods. But it was'nt.

Guys, I did exhaust all communication avenues and had the 'phone put down on me this morning, believe me all avenues have been tried, as I said no malice intended. I have had four positive, friendly deals on BassChat, buying and selling. I believe the integrity of this forum and the spirit in which it thrives, openess, should be maintained. Hence my post.
