1. Bought this at the show. Sounds superbly superb.
2. I could also be interested in a part chop for an interesting Head! WHY
3.
Trade for a Sei Flamboyant 6er? Has a little wear but also is ridiculously high spec!
And over to PM
4.
Martin Lee of Overwater used to teach my lessons on a bass very much like this...I wonder if it's the same one
I was speaking to Chris at the LBGS and he said it was commissioned by a renowned ' Bass Player' so it's got great provenence, just needs to be played!!!
5. I have RUACH twins and can vouch for the quality of construction, GLWTS
6. Well, I got there in time to see Micheal Manring, I was chuckling to myself, totally amazed at his virtuosity with 'altered' tuning, everything else seemed vapid after that especially all the slaparama in the booths. Enjoyed looking at the stands, said hello to Chris at Overwater, Mark and Marcus at Bass Direct and another person I had come to see, Thomas Eich. the result of that meeting is in the following snaps: In the Box Can you guess what it is yet? Wrapped The Back The all important Front This is a replacement for the Tecamp Bona I sold.............................. Happy Oh, bought a set of flats, a Lead and got a selfie with Micheal Manring and another with Scott Devine, I'll not post them I look like the old man I am....
7. Just on me way, first stop Micheal Manring then wallet out, well card anyway.....
8.
Superb amp. I have a Bonafide and a Puma 300 by Tecamp and they are just the business. Another fab feature on these is the rehearsal section - plug in an iPod and headphones and you can rehearse to your hearts content with no cab needed. Karl is also a top fella to deal with, so I am sure this will be gone soon.
Yes Gareth, you do, I'm chasin' another Bona and I am well tempted on this. You WILL be amazed with this head...
9. I have me Ticket for Sunday and will be 'Driving' from Leicester to the Venue early Sunday Morning, not too early but to arrive before midday. If anyone within easy distance of Leicester or on the way to the Venue needs a lift let me know. I can give you a lift..
10. Ditto ... Col now has the Mesa 4-88 to sit on top of his Mesa 2x12 cab.. Perfect transaction. What's not to like ?
11.
Would you ship the cab?
Shipping overseas at your cost not an issue, but cab on hold.
12.
What a rig!
Yes it's all you could want in both sound and aesthetics Luke ;(
13. I bought this 4-88 Decemberish to both fulfill GAS, and provide a project I was involved in with that 'Sound', teaming it up with my Ruach Fretless I (to my ears) achieved the 'Sound' I was looking for after complementing the 4-88 with a 4 Ohm Walkabout Cab and the (hens teeth) footwitch, Utopia! The band imploded due to other unforeseen projects, so now the 'Rig' is redundant as there is nothing in the immediate pipeline that warrants holding onto the setup. So I thought I would enable someone else to fulfill their GAS. It is a fabulous sounding piece of kit especially with the Walkabout Cab and the extra dimension the footswitch adds to the mix. As you can see here: http://www.mesaboogi...r-88/index.html Some snaps from the family album: All covered up with the footswitch And again Front Rear Rear of 4 Ohm Walkabout Cab Rear of 4-88 I used it with a three cab setup using a Passive Palmer Cab Merger, the 4 Ohm Walkabout Cab in series with two 8 Ohm cabs in Parallel this presented an 8 Ohm load to the 4-88. Overkill I know but it is a joy to hear.... So now we must part company. I will split, Cab £350.00, 4-88 inc footswitch £1,575.00, not really looking to trade but you can try me via PM with a Warwick Thumb NT 5 Thanks for looking
14. Some more snaps Body Shot Head Most of the neck Most of the Front Hanging around with my Bro's
15. Thanks, it's a RUACH Custom 5, 35", passive Piezzo, NT, nicest sounding fretless yet. I could sell it !
16. Trade for 5 string Warwick Thumb NT, fretted or fretless, earlier model preferred..... WHY?
17. Absolutely no issues at all, with my Pooma 300 and the work of art that was my BonaFide.
18. Did a trade with Col, met in an M1 Service station (the way you do) goods and money changed hands, I now have a 12" Mesa Walkabout Radiator Cab to put my 4-88 on. Easy guy to deal with, backbone of basschat guys like Col, oh and me of course
19. I have decided to put this up for sale at a more realistic price, it pains me to see it go as it is an exceptionally figured bass, but I have enough issues with playing a fiver. Poplar Burl Top, matching headstock and pick up covers, Mahogany Body, Maple Neck, Birds Eye Maple fingerboard, bomb proof Hiscox hardcase. Sounds are as you would expect from Overwater, fantastic. 35" Scale Small un-noticeable ding by the input and a small depression on the rear of the neck about the 15th fret. Full Frontal Rear More snaps to follow or PM me for additional snaps. Ideally a cash sale, but would consider part chop with an 35" Overwater fiver, Jazz, Progress, WHY cash to me fretted or fretless (unlined). Thanks for looking
