2.
An outfit called B-Low are handling Schroeder in the UK - I don't know anything about them, however. http://www.b-lowbass.co.uk/ I bought both my Schros from this very boutique (i.e. BC) - they do come up occasionally, but you have to keep your eyes open.
I can help with some of the issues mentioned in this thread, build quality to name one: Bear with me on this: After reading about Schroeder Cabs and their 'Sound' on this here Forum I looked on the Schroeder www to see who stocked them in the UK, SFX were listed on the www as UK agents/stockists, but they no longer existed at the time of my interest. I mailed Schroeder's direct and found out that they had been dispensed with about 6 years previous to my inquiry (this was December 2014) for unmentioned reasons. I perused the www and became excited at the 18PL and 210PL stack and ordered direct from Jorg 2 x 4 Ohm cabs in December last year intending to use them with my Tecamp BonaFide, Bass boost on one channel for the 18PL (30 Hz - 18 kHz) and the 210PL for the other channel. Both cabs are in my weight limit with the 210PL being a one handed lift (on paper). At the time of ordering I had not found anything detrimental to my purchase! My cabs arrived in the Epoxy finish that seemed to be the Schroeder standard, I didn't like that as they were still 'sticky' to touch but I thought they would harden off in time. Sound wise and construction wise they were spot on and delivered everything I wanted. I mailed Jorg, as we were on 1st name terms and I asked if he would be interested in representation in the UK, my background is Sales, Marketing and Business Development, we agreed to Skype top explore the possibilities. By the time we Skype'd I had discovered that there had been construction and reliability issues in the past, I raised this with Jorg and was satisfied with his answer that Chinese built Eminence speakers and a duff pallet of Chinese wood from his lumber merchant caused many of the issues. Drivers are now Italian B&C and all reliability issues have been addressed over the past years so that now they have good product and plenty of good reports from users. We decided to bite the bullet and place an order delivery to coincide with a web site going live. Initially we majored on Schroeder as a www name but then decided to spread the net wider with other merchandise and changed the name to www.b-lowbass.co.uk It is worth pointing out that Schroeder's is a small family run company, easier to react positively to customer "Custom" requirements such as 'Tolex' finish. I was not a fan of the epoxy finish so we ordered all Cabs in a black 'Tolex' finish. The initial order was for the the Mini series, 8, 10, 12 and 15PL (all 8 Ohm cabs) as they had a common 17" dimension that allowed stacking, if you happened to spot them at the Bass Bash the 'tower' included from bottom up, 15PL, 12L, Mini10+L topped out by the Mini8+L. The results of the Cab Shoot out was a pleasant surprise for me and b-low bass, we sent the thread to Jorg as vindication of our faith in the product. If you are in driving distance of Leicester and you want a shot of an 18PL (4 Ohm), 210PL (4 Ohm), 1212L (4 Ohm) , 15PL (8 Ohm), 12PL (8 Ohm), 12L (8 Ohm), Mini 10+L (8 Ohm) or the magnificent Mini 8+L cab (8 Ohm)PM me or hit the www and inquire away. Thanks for reading and I trust this has clarified some of the issues raised in this thread. Brian
3. Bump, I will take a part chop in the form of a Class 'D' head or a Mesa Carbine in part or full trade. The provenance of single ownership is preferred (new to you) What I will do is trade the both for a Thumb NT 5 or 6
4. Thank you. I will take a part chop on either of these basses cash difference to me, prefer Class 'D' heads WHY
5. Any snaps?
6. Aye aye, the footprint is identical and from a distance it looked as though you were, made more sense using one head
7.
So, yesterday being a great day and all, below are the results form the cab shoot-out. I`ll also copy this to a post in Amps/Cabs so that others who might not click onto this one - how very dare they - can see what happened. So, the idea was, following on from last years amp shootout, to use the same bass and amp into a variety of cabs, and see if there was a particular theme/overall winner. As such, using my 2015 US Precision into a fairly neutral sounding Tecamp Puma 900 with all eq set at midday (in the hope it would be a flat setting), the cabs below were investigated. We did a section on 2x12s which seems to be a very poular cab nowadays, 1x15s, 1x12s, and then a very small misc section. For the purposes of the test if the cabs had tweeters I set them to be full on. I`ll list each cab, and the amount of votes it got from the audience as to whether it was their fave. So the 2x12 section, starting with my very own cab: Barefaced Super12T - 1 Schroeder 212 - 8 Bergantino CN212 - 9 EBS Neo 212 - 2 EAD 2x12 - 5 So a winner for the Bergantino, and pretty fed up that I made my own cab come last! Onto the 1x15s Markbass Traveller 115 - 3 Barefaced Compact (Gen2) - 8 Schroeder 115 - 11 Barefaced Compact (Gen 1) - 3 So a winner for Schroeder Onto the 1x12s Barefaced Super Midget (Gen 3) - 3 Schroeder 112 - 3 Fearless 112 (with mid speaker, think a 6?) - 13 Barefaced Big Baby2 (Gen 3) - 7 Prosound PA Cab - 2 A runaway victory for the Fearless then. The misc section was very small, being OBBMs Phil Jones 4x5 - so it won that section hands down (well done Dave). So onto the overall faves then, putting the winners from each section above: Fearless 112 - 4 Schroeder 115 - 5 Bergantino CN212 - 20 So overall the Berg tops it, but it was interesting that over the range of cabs that Schroeder, given the lack of presence of their cabs over here, did so well in all sections. I`m sure a lot of it is to do with the cabs fitting my attack-based playing style, but overall the Schros did very well. Many thanks to Brian (Oldman) for bringing them along. So, what were my impressions of the cabs used? Well my fave for the type of music I currently play was the Schroeder 212, as it really adds a cutting presence, a hi-mid bias I would say. For bands I`ve been in previously it would have been the Berg. But there were four real revelations for me: 1. The Barefaced Super Midget Gen 3 - such an amazing amount of sound from such a little cab. And quality sound too, not just volume. 2. Likewise with the Phil Jones 4x5, real presence and quality sound. 3. The Prosound PA Speaker - apparently £60 from Maplins. Did the job fine, and wasn`t lacking in any way. 4. I managed, yet again, to get my own gear to come last. This is a pattern that seems to be repeating itself. But the main thing was, given the variety of cab brands, sizes, configurations, was that I would have been happy to use any of them at a gig. Sure there were nuances to each cab, but overall this shootout showed me that gear is gear, and sure, we all like to get our own sounds if possible, but workable sounds can be gotten from an array of different speaker cabs. Maybe we all obsess just that bit too much (I`ve certainly established that I do from this). Lastly I`d like to thank Nik and Colin for asking me to do this, it was great fun, and to get to play through such an amazing range of cabs was just amazing.
Lozz, I thought you used 2 x Tecamp Puma 300's for the shoot out not a single 900!

12.
I had a play on this at the bash. 21. As mentioned in the Fretted post, I have decided to cut down my flock of basses and offer up for sale this Fretless version of the RUACH Fulcrum 5 string Bass. I commissioned both basses January 2013, they have been gigged 2 or 3 times each and hang on the Man Cave wall. The neck profile was copied from my Warwick Thumb and is fairly accurate considering its a 5iver, easy to play. As you can see it is an impressive looking bass, sleek lines with a Scorpio motif at the 12th fret ! Identical in construction to the Fretted version also posted here on this forum. 35" scale, 18mm bridge spacing, 10mm at the Nut, La Bella Flats Black hardware, Headway Piezzo acoustic bridge pickup and passive Volume and tone controls, this Bass sings. Body and Neck are Flame Maple with a Black Pin Stripe and the top is a Maple Quilt, neck is top quality Ebony which was hard to source due to the thumb rest extension length required. Natural Wax finish. Not looking for trades at this stage but you can try me. Some snaps; This is the front of the twins This is the Back Thumb rest extension Hanging around Together This bass is the most 'Organic' bass I have ever played and would suit an acoustic type setup. It has a chambered body making it possibly the lightest fretless in Christendom ! The Twins will on view at the Bass Bash this Saturday. Thanks for looking
22. I have decided to cut down my flock of basses and offer up for sale (firstly) the fretted version of the RUACH Fulcrum 5 string Bass. I commissioned both basses January 2013, they have been gigged 2 or 3 times each and hang on the Man Cave wall. The neck profile was copied from my Warwick Thumb and is fairly accurate considering its a 5iver, easy to play. 35" Scale, 18mm spacing at Bridge, 10mm at Nut, LA Bella Rounds. Black Hardware, Gotoh 'M' machines and two piece Bridge. Two Twin Coil Aaron Armstrong pickups active two knob electrics. High Grade Ebony fretboard, 24 frets, dot markers are abalone and MOP, front 3mm side 2mm. Body wood is figured Maple as is the neck wood with a quilt Maple top wood on the front and black pin stripes in a natural wax finish. Sorry to move it along but I'm gigging (when we get some) my Overwater Contemporary Jazz and as much as I love the aesthetics of this bass I have decided to sell at a massive discount to New. I'd consider a partial trade but would really like to sell for Cash. Some snaps: Front body and controls Headstock Headstock Rear of Bass And the twins Thanks for looking Truss rod cover and the rear cavity have a neat magnetic system so no pesky screws and resultant screwdriver damage. This bass can be tried out at this Saturday's Bass Bass
23. I bought a Godin 4 String Fretless from Emanuel way back, about 2 and a Half years. It was in Black (obvious for me) and had the Baggs Pre, in perfect condition for its year. Despite the distance between us the transaction went perfect and I received the Bass on Christmas Eve 2012. Lovely bass, great transaction, would certainly deal with Emmanuel again.
24. This is not the DI version so I'm reducing it to £100.00
25. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/EBS_Valvedrive.html Just like this but without the DI bit. A bit of wear, never used by me other than a try out, boxed. No Trades, just cash or PayPal Thanks for looking, snaps on request
