  1. Possibly a similar arrangement to the Markbass 103 then?
  2. I believe that if you earn over £1k from it you'll have to declare it. How you declare it is another matter though, you might have to do self-assessment just for the additional income if your main income is dealt with under PAYE. The other question is if you're getting paid in sterling because you're a UK taxpayer, euros because that's where the tour is, or in USD because the artist you're supporting is American, and also where you're getting paid.
  3. I suspect the 2x10 and 4x10 won't be any different in size if all they've done is changed the impedence of the speakers. Maybe the 3x10 will just be half of a 6x10.
  4. Yep, that was pretty much my reaction too.
  5. Oh my, that looks gorgeous! GLWTS!
  6. I didn't get the chance to make full use of the one of these I tried, but for a fairly clean post-EQ sound through the PA it sounded pretty nice. Would love to give one a proper run though.
  7. It's on the BF website here: https://barefacedaudio.com/pages/using-multiple-10cr-cabs. Those new models aren't listed for sale yet, so not sure "launched" is accurate.
  8. By my back-of-fag-packet calcs you'd have to be getting at least £312 per person per gig to make it worthwhile it being your only job (assuming equivalent to 37.5h/wk job @ nat min wage of £10.42 = equivalent annual salary of £20,280, divided by 65). I'm sure there's a lot more to it than this but on the face of it it doesn't sound a particularly attractive prospect from a financial point of view.
  9. I'm pretty happy with my gear, but another cab of the same variety would be nice for larger and outdoor gigs. Other than that I think I'm sorted for the foreseeable on that front. More pedals would be nice as being in a covers band means there's always the potential to do something a bit leftfield which requires some additional tone manipulation, but I think the core of my sound is done and dusted.
  10. All "influencers" should really be called "advertisers".
  11. Not wanting to derail this thread (very contented BF Two10 user here for what it's worth) but this seems to have snuck in under the radar with no fanfare:
  12. They definitely can vary. I once bought a new pickguard for my Squier and it wouldn't even cover the routing for the controls. Fortunately I decided I liked the 20-year aged white one it came with so managed to sell it on again.
  13. I gather they're designed in Spain, which may mean they're some sort of offshoot of an established guitar maker. Washburn and Gretsch were founded in 1883 but this may just be a coincidence.
  14. Be still my beating heart, and empty wallet!
  15. Having a strange conversation with someone on Friendface on a post regarding a good bass to learn on. The relevant comments are below: Him: Jazz bass knobs are a little too close in my opinion and my hand tends to adjust them accidentally Me: Just... how? Are you playing with a pick? If so how hard are you striking the strings? Him: the knobs are close to the strings. Just like a strat. My pinky fingers get too close In 27 years of playing bass I've neither experienced this or heard of anyone else experiencing it. I'm well aware of the known quirk of the Strat design that means one can accidentally turn down the volume owing to the proximity of the strings and the knob, but never on a Jazz bass. Is this something I'm just oblivious about, or does this guy need to sort his technique out?
  16. Is this the bass you were playing at the Kieran tribute?
  17. We're also with Insure4Music, their prices were quite reasonable last time we renewed.
  18. Hot For Teacher - Van Halen
  19. The word on the street is that Bass Direct can order them in...
  20. I'm two thirds of the way there, just that second Two10S to acquire somehow!
  21. OK, I'll be the first to suggest the equipment in your signature just to get it out of the way.
  22. Probably a bit too modern for Stowmarket...
