  1. Nice one! Still gutted I'm going to miss you guys in Sheffield. Just the wrong end of the month for such things alas.
  2. Nice! I never managed to get to Hall for Cornwall when I lived down that way but it looks great from the stage.
  3. Would it be amiss for me to indicate that there is at least one for sale here?
  4. If you want a fancy one you could try an Alperious pickguard.
  5. Before I bought my trusty Trace Elliot Boxer I bought a Laney combo that pretty much from day one I never got on with. I don't even remember how I disposed of it, with how little an impression it left on me.
  6. On the Huffington Post? Surely not!
  7. Can confirm, I've been told to turn down my Elf run through a 4 ohm 2x10 (albeit my 2x10 isn't a low budget one when bought new!), and they definitely sound fantastic.
  8. Waiting for an AI-generated song called "It Was Only An 'opeless Fancy"...
  9. Yep, that most definitely does not in any way sound like a money laundering front.
  10. Nice! GLWTS, as the current owner of one of these whoever buys it will be very lucky.
  11. The compressor on the Evo IV is the same, it just sucks the life out of the amp, so I never turn mine on. Whether it's loud enough very much depends on what the setting you're playing in is, but I haven't yet had an issue with my 600 and a Barefaced Two10. If a valve conks out Ashdown will I'm sure happily replace it for not a lot of money, all you'd need to do is arrange to get it to and from them.
  12. I'm struggling with my picking speed during the solo in the middle of Club Foot. The rest of the song is fine, and I know all the notes and whatnot for the solo, but I just can't get my right hand to cooperate and stay at speed and on target for the whole thing. It doesn't help that I need to change grip to achieve the required speed from the one during the verse and chorus, but I can maintain it for about three or four bars until the notes get high, the string tension changes, and I find I'm slipping a load of notes. I've tried it with a stiff pick (1.14mm Tortex), lighter pick (1mm nylon), at the bridge, at the neck, in between, but nothing's worked. We're hoping to incorporate this into our set, and the band think I'm doing OK, but I'd like to nail it, so any tips on this would be very much appreciated.
  13. Yep, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it
  14. Not sure if this would help one sound like Lemmy, but it sounds great in this review from @CiciBass
  15. Another vote here for Ashdown. Their customer service when discussing the repair of my loaner amp was one of the factors in my deciding to buy my ABM.
  16. I've basically scattergunned enquiries to every potential venue in and around Wakefield district, but only had a couple of tepid "maybe in the new year" responses. Haven't worked up the courage to try researching all possible venues in the big cities like Leeds and Bradford yet, but I suppose I'll have to before too long. We have a couple of regular haunts but they're only good for maybe half a dozen gigs a year.
  17. Hope things look up for you! We've three more this year then nothing until August so I feel your pain somewhat.
  18. Probably a bit small, I was considering the Metro 24 for a bit of futureproofing
  19. Index and middle, and then ring when I need to get a gallop on
  20. I'm sure in person he's fine, but my word he has a real talent for rubbing people up the wrong way online.
  21. Yeah, I had to stop following him on FB after he went on a bit of a spree of pissing off people whose views differ from his because it was getting extremely tiresome. Like OK Jeff, read music, teach yourself technique, we get it, but that's not the end of the story!
  22. I can definitely recommend pairing it with a Barefaced cab, either a One10 or a Two10 (I do the latter), and I believe others in these 'ere parts do the same.
  23. Or make sure your cab has good dispersion as that'll mean less faff.
