  1. I have a Vox amPlug 2 and it's quite a nifty bit of kit and extremely portable. https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Vox-amPlug-2-Bass/13GA
  2. There was a lot of "cross-pollination" of ideas around that time. The Birth of Loud by Ian S Port is a good read for the background.
  3. They're selling in the neighbourhood of $1100 at Sweetwater in the US, so I'd expect them to be in the region of £900 if that translates from the current exchange rate, which is Fender Player series price territory
  4. Looks like one of these: https://www.tc-helicon.com/product.html?modelCode=P0DEG
  5. Do you have isolated power supplies for each pedal through a separate power supply unit, or are they daisy-chained and just plugged straight into the mains?
  6. I already get business use as I occasionally use my car for my day job, and it doesn't add a lot to my premium.
  7. Fender to spend five years without releasing a new variation on a Jazz or Precision bass to give them some time to come up with some new ideas.
  8. As alluded to in a recent post, my band are playing at Night of The Living Dubz festival near Doncaster Airport
  9. I wouldn't be surprised. Guitar Guitar have them on cheap at the moment as well, albeit not as cheap as this.
  10. I always wondered with these if the preamp in these units shouldn't be renamed "AvecAmp" and not SansAmp... GLWTS!
  11. She's started frequenting these pages too recently @CiciBass
  12. Same, I basically have a photo of my preferred settings that I have to dig out every time I take the amp out of the car and then the cover off.
  13. We did it for a laugh at one rehearsal, nailed it on the first try and it's been in our set ever since!
  14. I finally settled on 45-105s after years of experimenting due to the increased tightness - both tonally and physically. Alas increasing pain/numbess in my hands means I will probably have to go back to at least 45-100s, or even 40-100s, for future string sets so I'm not gripping/pulling so hard (insert your own wombling joke of choice here).
  15. If you've bought an amp with both preamp and power stages that'll be because you like those choices though. Knowing there's an option that removes the need for a preamp stage is useful, but I still like the choices Ashdown and Trace have made with the amps I use.
  16. I'm also curious about the pickup options. While I love the tone of the stock ones in my V7 they are very quiet compared to the ceramic pickup in my P-bass. Obviously I can get around that by using the preamp to boost the volume but it's still annoying.
  17. It is indeed elsewhere on the channel: (I'd seen this before which is why I knew to look for it)
  18. Ad blockers are your friend. I use Privacy Badger but there are plenty of other good free ones out there. You should also be able to configure your browser to block pop-ups.
  19. Or "I'm not [insert deplorable trait here], but..."
