I've not come across any issues with my active bass running into my PC, but then my setup including the bass would be different to yours. If happily lend you my bass to test it but unfortunately we're not in close enough to just pop round sort of proximity.

Is this one of the RSD MetroExpress basses, or the new SMX ones with the roasted necks? If the former they were notorious for having shielding and other electronic issues, which may or may not be contributing to your issue.

If you're getting paid in dollars in the US you may have to set up an ITIN (similar to SS and NI numbers but purely for tax) with the IRS and file taxes in the US. In which case, having had to do that with Mrs Asingardenof who is of an American persuasion, may [insert deity of your choice] have mercy on your soul.

We just suggest stuff, and if 4/5 of us like it we'll give it a go for sure, but if 3/5 like it and the other two are just ambivalent we'll probably look at it at least in passing. As I understand it, alt.country/Americana was a reaction to mainstream/commercial country and attempt to go back to more authentic country music. I don't think one can call it "alt" anymore given how popular it is, but I still prefer it as a genre to other flavours of country.

I'd recommend Tube N' Truss in Cornwall but Chris might not take it on as he specialises in vintage amps (he did a stellar job on my old Marshall Super Bass, for example). He may be able to recommend someone else in the area though, however I suspect that Cornwall is a bit too far afield from Bristol for you anyway?
