    This is something I've always wondered as well, how PRS shares out the fees that venues collect. PRS seems to suggest that it's done on self-reporting by venues or artists, including for cover bands, but this seems to be placing an awful lot on trust.

    As I say, Bigsby, Fender, Les Paul, etc. were all contemporaries, hence the "cross-pollination" comment earlier. Fender may have nicked Bigsby's design but it's arguable what claim Bigsby had to it being their original idea in the first place.

    But to be fair the Bigsby headstock design itself was inspired by headstocks used for much older stringed instruments. Alas my Google-fu has let me down and not taken me to an image I've found previously, but they're effectively a violin family instrument headstock viewed in profile.

    They're selling in the neighbourhood of $1100 at Sweetwater in the US, so I'd expect them to be in the region of £900 if that translates from the current exchange rate, which is Fender Player series price territory

    Do you have isolated power supplies for each pedal through a separate power supply unit, or are they daisy-chained and just plugged straight into the mains?

    I already get business use as I occasionally use my car for my day job, and it doesn't add a lot to my premium.

    Fender to spend five years without releasing a new variation on a Jazz or Precision bass to give them some time to come up with some new ideas.

    I wouldn't be surprised. Guitar Guitar have them on cheap at the moment as well, albeit not as cheap as this.

    I always wondered with these if the preamp in these units shouldn't be renamed "AvecAmp" and not SansAmp... GLWTS!

    Same, I basically have a photo of my preferred settings that I have to dig out every time I take the amp out of the car and then the cover off.

    We did it for a laugh at one rehearsal, nailed it on the first try and it's been in our set ever since!

    I finally settled on 45-105s after years of experimenting due to the increased tightness - both tonally and physically. Alas increasing pain/numbess in my hands means I will probably have to go back to at least 45-100s, or even 40-100s, for future string sets so I'm not gripping/pulling so hard (insert your own wombling joke of choice here).
