  1. Nope: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/srtWcqL4fTQzbzb6/
  2. Aren't they expanding to another unit though?
  3. Having watched the video on Reverb's YT channel that's pretty much what he's said, that he's accumulated a load of interesting instruments that are just sat in storage rather than being played. I'm sure there are other reasons as well, but his royalties from Metallica haven't dried up so I doubt he needs the money, and he seems to be a pretty honest bloke so maybe he is mostly being altruistic. I wonder how many will end up in the hands of players though and how many will end up hanging on the walls of hedge fund managers.
  4. Unless you buy a custom one, but those are super expensive.
  5. I had it a couple of weeks ago. It doesn't get any less unpleasant
  6. Mixed fare from late 70s onwards. We tend to do 2x45 mins + encores, but can go straight through for 1½ hours plus encores if needs be, depending on the gig.
  7. Woohoo, managed to get it to work on Authy! Take that, Google Authenticator!
  8. If it's something our singist can sing, isn't too difficult for the rest of us to play, and which we can all play on, it stands a good chance. Not being Oasis or Fleetwood Mac seems to be a theme with singists as ours hates them as well, despite the rest of us being well up for doing Go Your Own Way. He's all for us doing Mr Brightside though, and it'll probably be in our set later in the year.
  9. I have one of these as well and it's very handy, and seems pretty robust as these things go
  10. Mork and Mindy was a Happy Days spin-off.
  11. At the start of the first Covid lockdown my company decided to reduce our pay to mitigate any reduction in productivity resulting from us all working from home (after they realised we were all professionals and there was no loss of productivity they very generously gave us half of that reduction back 😐) To mitigate the loss of earnings I had to sell quite a lot of stuff, including a car and some bass gear. The bass I sold was my Squier VM 70s Jazz, which was excellent, and my 1980 Marshall Super Bass head, which was phenomenal. The amp had recently had a full service by the excellent Chris at Tube 'N Truss in Cornwall (if you have a vintage valve amp that needs anything doing to it I can't recommend him enough) so I was hopng to get around £1200 for it, but needs must and I had to let it go for just over £900 to the frontman of a Motorhead tribute, who was very apologetic about getting it for a steal. Much as I'd love to have it back and see what it would sound like gigged through decent bass speakers, I wouldn't appreciate having to carry almost 90lb of amp into some of the venues we've played!
  12. A lot of chatter between myself, guitarist and keyboardist after rehearsal, mostly agreeing singist was being a see you next Tuesday, and that if guitarist had walked we'd all have walked. Some more drama to come, methinks...
  13. Weird mood at rehearsal today. Earlier this week our guitarist had put up a video on Facebook of her playing a snippet of Mr Brightside where it wasn't obvious it was from that song. She's been putting in the grind learning it because it's pretty tricky to play, and she's done well so far. But singist, who's a grumpy bugger a lot of the time, dismissed it and said he couldn't make it out and that it wasn't very good (it was). She very nearly walked out, and I'd have joined her, and not only because she was my lift home. Then singist immediately messed up the timing at the start of Two Tribes, and looked furious at us daring to stop the song and point it out.
  14. Am I missing something here? Why can the remaining band members not cut their fee percentage to pay the dep while also paying you back for the gear?
  15. No, the buyer is the one with the choice here, not the seller: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/return-faulty-goods/
  16. I was literally on my way to do the same until I saw you'd beaten me to it!
  17. You just got that email as well then, I see 😁
  18. Very common, I believe it's an issue with pickups not quite being in phase.
  19. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 still gives you the right to reject a faulty product, request a repair or replacement, or ask for a full or partial refund, so things haven't changed that much if at all. From what I see online there seems to be a trend of people accepting that faulty items just happen and that they should get them repaired themselves, having apparently never come across the concept of a warranty or a right to refuse faulty goods.
  20. I'm pretty sure Harley Benton does a 6er for <£200
  21. I saw them on the American Idiot tour too when they played the Milton Keynes Bowl and they were fantastic.
  22. Time for another Nineteen Eighty-Four quote? The tune had been haunting London for weeks past. It was one of countless similar songs published for the benefit of the proles by a sub-section of the Music Department. The words of these songs were composed without any human intervention whatever on an instrument known as a versificator.
