  1. That's very cynical* of you! (*accurate)
  2. You need to put *SOLD* in the post title to close it.
  3. Good to know in case I ever need to utilise my similar setup!
  4. No, I like both of my basses and try and rotate them so they both get playing/rehearsal time.
  5. My V7 2nd Gen is living on borrowed time now, frankly. I'm not seeing anything on the Warwick website yet but I may have the relevant pages there and on Thomann indefinitely open... Looks like everywhere is clearing out the current version though, and Guitar Guitar are even discounting a brand new Japanese ME to £1500 if anyone fancies it. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/180206322265007-3697210--sadowsky-metroexpress-japan-rv4-black-me971. My guess is these are imminent.
  6. I had a set of the 45-105 strings on my Sire last year (managed to score some for 999 points on the D'Addario website) and they lasted me for six months including a very intense period of 3 months or so learning 20 songs for my current band. They're now my emergency "oh cripes I broke a string" set as they're still usable albeit a bit deader than I like. Definitely worthwhile if you can afford them, and they sound amazing.
  7. This. Our guitarist uses the 100W version (usually in 50W mode) and she has tons of tonal options available - too many, she might say.
  8. My P-bass is known (by me, mostly) as "The Beast". Other than that no. As I've mentioned in another thread, when I eventually get my grubby mits on a Sadowsky MetroExpress (the upcoming Chinese ones with the proper logo) then, as it's been my unicorn for several years, including when they were still made in Japan, it shall be known as Eleanor after the Shelby GT500 in Gone In 60 Seconds.
  9. Yep, that's my understanding as well. The other party in China wasn't using the name so Roger was hopeful that he'd be able to get it back quickly. I believe it was only an issue because the new MEs are made in China.
  10. I think I saw something about July, although it will be a while after that before I can afford it, even with the plan to sell my V7 to assist.
  11. As someone who plays both finger style and with a pick in our set, I guarantee that the only person who will consciously notice any difference is you.
  12. At the moment it's a Sadowsky MetroExpress*, of which I had hoped to get a MIJ one but they're like hens' teeth, but with the recent changes announced for the MIC ones I am determined to make one mine. As a unicorn it will obviously have to be called Eleanor (points to anyone who gets the reference). *Yes I have limited ambition
  13. My favourite is my current Ashdown ABM which is "my" first grown-up amp (previous ABM not counting because it was on loan, although it was great until its age caught up with it). It does exactly what I want it to do and sounds amazing. Apart from the Hohner combo that came with my first bass (also a Hohner), of which the only pro is that it was slightly better than having no amp at all, I'm lucky in that I haven't owned a bad one so far.
  14. OK Roger Sadowsky has replied in the thread, it is happening. *flails*
  15. Just seen some alleged prototypes in a Facebook post for the next iteration of the Chinese-made Sadowsky MetroExpress line. If this is legit (the FB group is one Roger Sadowsky regularly comments in so I'm hopeful he doesn't contradict it) then I'm officially saving for one of these. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2413733079/permalink/10160376228903080/
  16. The Barefaced 12 ohm option on the Two10S makes things interesting
  17. It is a great ready reckoner. Is there a possible enhancement with the minimum load rating for the amp taken into consideration? Does that make a lot of difference?
  18. Precisely about this long. If I ever lose weight it'll hang a bit lower.
  19. Just got me one of these and love it. GLWTS!
