  1. How come you're selling it so soon after buying it?
  2. Venue-provided Markbass or have you been spending again? 😆
  3. Oh nice. I used to live in Redruth but never managed to find a band down that way unfortunately. I did find two excellent repairers down there that I miss having available though - Tube N' Truss in St Dennis is where I used to take my vintage Marshall valve amp for servicing and repairs (I miss that thing) and I used to go to Julyan Wallis (him off of BBC's The Repair Shop) near Penzance for instrument setups, etc. I used to work with a drummer in Truro, and while he might not be looking for another band he might know of others who are. I'll see if I can get in touch with him.
  4. I tend to orientate my 2x10 depending on where I am in the room. If it's long and narrow and I'm set up at the narrow end I'll have the cab horizontal; if I'm on the long side then I'll use it vertically, even though the amp hangs off the sides a bit.
  5. Tbf I only know because I saw an interview with Paul McCartney years ago where he was defending Linda against accusations of being inept because she'd only play one note on her Moog at a time (the defence being that that's all you can do apparently), and he went off on a tangent about the pronunciation.
  6. Definitive answer: So clear as mud then...
  7. I love you can spot the point in the interview where someone obviously told him how Moog should be pronounced
  8. Yeah, the last music shop I spent any time in was Dawsons in Leeds, sadly now closed as of December last year. I think that means all of the dedicated music shops around here I've been into at one time or another (not that many) have now closed. Electro Music in Doncaster closed after going downhill in its later years, and the shop where I bought my beloved P-bass, Scheerer's of Leeds, is now a Costa having closed in 2013 after trading for c.140 years. When I get a chance I'll have to go into the Rock Factory in Castleford, even if I just come away with a set of strings or some picks.
  9. They're kind of like the Classic Vibe series with a few modern features. I used to have a VM 70s Jazz and it was fantastic, the fact that it weighed about as much as a planet notwithstanding (at least that part was period-authentic!).
  10. It's definitely hit and miss. For all the horror stories about Evri our local delivery driver is first rate.
  11. Markbass does a 3x10 cab that apparently runs at 6 ohms. Presumably they're just rounding up from 5.3? Or is an 18 ohm driver feasible?
  12. This is something that's always confused me. Is a neck that plays "like butter" supposed to be fast because it's greasy? Or smooth? Or delicious?
  13. Does that count if the last two bars are just two tied semibreves (or a breve, I suppose)?
  14. Watching some of Alex's YouTube videos he mentioned the Ampeg 8x10 as the exemplar for bass cabs. I'd be interested to see the extent to which he's emulated it, whether consciously or not.
  15. From what I understand about the Greasebucket tone control it cuts treble and also bass, which as you say makes the tone less muddy by making it more mid-rangey as you roll the tone control back. I tried a Performer Jazz a few years ago and liked the bass in general and the Yosemite pickups a lot, but wasn't overly fond of the Greasebucket.
  16. Are the post counters working as they should be? I seem to have been stuck on 277 for several days now.
  17. Is it worth noting that the Fender tone control doesn't function as a regular tone control on the Performer line, in that it cuts the treble and bass whereas the Sadowsky tone control will only cut the treble?
