I use this here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...p;rd=1&rd=1 Works really well, is reliable, and doesn't produce any hiss or hum.
I'd be interested to hear it with a bypassed phaser, delay and an engaged full on fuzz.
  2. You don't need a regulated power supply, so don't worry about that. You just need one that is built properly. Spend a bit of ££ and you'll be fine.

    a bit of gravel??
Digitech Bad Monkey - you can pick one up for £20 on Ebay and it's absolutely awesome on bass. Does just what you want - adds a bit of grit. It's for light overdrive only and won't do all-out distortion. It outperforms its price tag by a MASSIVE margin!
That is the common consensus. There's a few companies that mod them to better specs too
  4.
I got a DT10 yesterday. Pretty good imo.
Best pedal tuner available IMO.
  5. Wow, nice choice. I couldn't have picked better myself.
  6. Ok, this is getting posted off tomorrow.
  7. Did you know that TCE license all their designs from Tresx? I didnt until today.
  8. Oooh, fun... that said I would never really want a multi effect. I always see them as a "stepping stone" to "real" effects. YMMV.
  9.
The hell is "Russian big muff"?
Depends how happy you are with sex traffiking.
  10. Those tubes should give you nicer compression than a comp ever will
  11.
But I never record with pedal compressors because there are those studio comps that are much better!
I'd only record with a compulator assuming that there wasn't a better studio rack comp.

    Little Big Muff
I change patch leads, leads, battery and mains power, moved it out of my pedal board and still the same?? Gave up in the end and thought I would look into it again later.
Are you SURE that it wasn't a power fault?

    Sans amp
If like me you are a fan of a HIFI tone, this pedal may not be for you. In that case, try the MXR M80. A very similar pedal, with extra switching options. The overdrive sound is ver different too.
In this case you might be better splashing the extra cash and going for an EBS micro bass. Especially if you use two instruments

    power bank
I just wonder what's the point of having a brick if you'll still have a transformer going into the plug (this goes for the Dunlop and Gator bricks as well)... Why not just get the wall wart and have a daisy chain instead of a brick and have less weight on ur board and more space...?
+1
  15. Si, you'd do better asking this in a more appropriate forum May I suggest the talkbass.com/forum pickups subforum?
  16.
How's that Mu-tron working out then Higgie? Is it happy running off a 9V supply? Andy
Now there's a question to ask.

    Pitch-Shifting
I'm on the side of the Digitech whammy, it's not natural sounding, but the sound it has is bloody lovely, i love the way it sounds and i'd choose it over any other pitch shifter.
+1. I really wouldnt use anything other than the Whammy for pitch shifting.

  22.
Is it possible to get an adaptor that turns a standard 9v AC current into an 18v AC current? (I'm a complete boob when it comes to technical stuff) I.e. so I can use my Diago powerstation with a unit such as the MXR bass blow torch?
You do mean DC, right?
  23. Send me your address and I'll insert you at the apposite point in the list. Postage will be about a fiver?
  24. Andy, PM me your name and address. It's setting off next Monday. JP
  25. I posted this in another thread: I have the correct supplier relationships to get it built for us in the EU. I have a minimum order of 10. Get 10 people together and I'll get it sorted. Infact if you can get 10 people together than at MY cost I'll get them painted by my good friend Adam at sw***box.org. Steve, I'll call you about it tomorrow as discussed via PM. A few comments: 1) design via commitee doesn't work, noone is ever happy (eg: dple). 2) I'd be loathe to have anything on my board that changes impedance so dramatically that couldn't be turned on and off. Quite a few effects (especially modern delays / opther modulation) like a much lower impedance - similar to line level. 3) If it has a switch it needs an LED. 4) There are plenty of decent sized hammond boxes - without looking at the specific circuit but knowing what goes in a buffer I'd be suprised if we couldn't get the circuit, LED and footswitch in a 2.5x2.5 size. 5) IMO there's no need for a battery but a big need for a 9v.
