1.
Oops, yes I have, and was told they won't be able to help with a direct replacement.
How annoying.
  2. Epic looking bass.
  3. The new Wals almost look "cleaner" than the old Wals.
  4. More gear ;-)
  5. Post gig update: F500 + AE210 is more than loud enough in my 2 guitar rock band. I'm still interested in that Puma 900 tho. Apparently they've switched to the B&O power module which I am a big fan of.
  6. I never run anything flat out. It's entirely my own psychological problem. The point is that if there’s an amp I could pair with the AE210 that would give more volume then I’d like to try it. My other rig is the F500 into an AE410 which is powerful enough for almost every situation.
  7. It's quite sonically different, isn't it? A bit more grindy? F500 is clean, clean, clean.
  8. What are my options for replacing my Markbass F500 that will output more than 300W at 8ohms? Not too bothered about form factor.
Who cares about heritage or reputation or name?
I think a better word might be provenance, and Western Society is pretty much built on it.
  10.
I live up near Leeds.
If you want to have a bash on my Celinder I live in between Bradford and Leeds and am always happy to share.

  12. You need to put a price on the Crest Fuzzface. I'd also appreciate seeing a gutshot of your home made fuzz boxes.

  19. It might be worth giving Mark @ Bass Direct a try. I know he retails a lot of MESA gear.
But then you could say the same of any high end bass builder; they are in business because people pay for their instruments. I feel there is a much more convincing case to be made for Sadowsky basses being average than simply saying you don't like them. They're not unplayable wrecks, but they're not spectacular either. As far as jazz basses go, they are a fairly average product. Very expensive and no better than the cheaper competition these days. Perhaps this was not the case 15 or 20 years ago, in fact I can quite imagine that was the case before the boutique jazz bass took off.
The problem is that you're expressing your opinions as fact. And you know it
No, but you do have to be able to accept that I'm not going to join the fawning masses just because of the name on the headstock. An average jazz bass with massive price tag doesn't really make sense. I'm struggling to think of a Sandberg I've played that wasn't more impressive than a Sadowsky in almost every regard.
Oh look, Toasted is proved correct again. I really must find out what it feels like to be wrong one of these days.
  22. £300 is a joke for this pedal. It's completely battered and is missing one of the original knobs. That one that sold for £180 was MINTY. If anyone buys it for £300 I have some magic beans I'm sure they'd also be interested in.

You have to read chris's posts about Sadowsky basses whilst craning around the chip on his shoulder.
  24. An awful lot of "down" and not a lot of "up" since July 6th. What's going on? Anyone else missing reading about the latest SFX / ACG / RIM builds as much as me?
