It depends on whether you use your ears or an accurate tuner to set intonation. Unless you're playing a lot above the 12th fret it probably isn't that critical and "good enough for rock and roll."

Just to be clear: all Markbass LM2 heads were/are class AB. I've owned an ABM600 and still own a class AB LM2. The ABM600 is capable of a much higher apparent output than the LM2; I only sold mine because I so rarely if ever needed the huge power it possessed.

I used to gig with the CMD121P and NY121P cab and I found it could replace my LM3 and STD104HF on all my gigs with a loudish rock covers band. I ended up selling the CMD121P and buying another NY121P cab so my lightweight rig is two NY121P cabs and one of my Markbass 500 watt heads. The NY121P is sonically more capable than the combo as it has a larger internal volume and does go lower so adds a lot more than you'd expect when used as an extension cab. I'm sure that your combo plus a NY121P will be at least as capable as the STD102HF.

I have (accidentally) acquired a lefty mid to late 1970s Fender tolex P case and wondered how scarce they are as I've seen the vast majority of left handed Fender basses housed in right handed cases. A Google search has only resulted in a couple of examples (although my Google search skills aren't great). Here it is with a right handed bass inside.

Thank you. The 1215 combo was the biggest surprise. There's a local rehearsal set up that has an old beaten up 410 TE combo in one of its rooms. It was plugging into that with extremely low expectations that convinced me I had to have an AH150/200 head; the combo being just too big and heavy. The first I found was the rack mounting AH200 then the Mk5 AH150. All good, no more TE heads needed. The next visit to this rehearsal set up we were in a different room that had a beaten up 1215 in it. Plugged in and what do you know, that beautiful Trace Elliot oomph coming from something much smaller and lighter than the 410. Around the same time an as new example popped up on here which I was lucky enough to acquire. The AH100 (or 130, I cant tell which?) was from a local guy who didn't gig so once again too good to pass by. That's definitely the last purchase (yeah, right) unless a mint SMX250 surfaces somewhere convenient.

And now a minty Series 6 AH100 tops my Trace Elliot stack.😊

I use my Trace Elliot heads with either one (usually) or two ceramic loaded Bergantino HD210 cabs through which they sound amazing (if you can ignore the bum notes that is). I have found that if the tone is correct, crushing volume isn't needed. I'm sure some compensate for a less than perfect tone by turning up the volume (because I know I've done it too).

Thanks, there's some history on the internet saying they were a decent band that nearly succeeded but now I'd only expect friends and family would remember them. It was the Mike Scott and David Dickie connections that caught my interest further. In my book that puts them a level above the other hundreds possibly thousands of bands from that era that have no history recorded anywhere.

So I've just acquired a mid seventees left handed black tolex Fender Precision case that apparently at one point had been rescued from a skip in North Wales. Whilst giving it a clean the band name The Last Chant has been uncovered on both top and bottom faces. Googled the band and found a few details including their bassist was called Brian Ashcroft. There's also one track on YouTube called Run Of The Dove which is pretty good. I was just wondering whether anyone remembers them or knows if Brian is still playing (and whether he was left handed)?

Michael sold me his Kala Sub bass at the weekend. The deal couldn't have been smoother with everything as described and excellent communications throughout. Spent an hour or so discussing common ground; MM Stingrays, Fender J's, Hartke and Ampeg amps, etc, etc. Lovely guy; trade with confidence.
