  1. Hi there Greg, If you go LM3 plus a 4 ohm Markbass STD104HF you won't lack power at all. I don't have any experience of the new class d LM3 driving this cab but my class ab one has plenty of clout. It could be too much for small venues however so two STD102HF would give you more flexibility.
  2. You won't be able to change the original sale or trade value but you can edit the text in the main body of the original post. Just add the latest price in the main body.
  3. It might be helpful to post the price that you want at the top of the thread as interested parties may not read your later post correction.
  4. I've owned one of the original mosfet 3500 for nearly 20 years and then bought an LH1000. I sold the LH1000 after a short while because I couldn't get on with the passive fender style tone stack. The HA series are much more flexible in my experience. Never played one of the newer bipolar versions but the ones with mosfet stated on the front face are loud!
  5. Result! ☺
  6. Got my first gig tonight with my recently acquired 4H. Loving the 18v 3 band pre at practice volumes. Just hope it keeps the powerful delivery at gigging levels.
  7. The more expensive SRs come with USA Bartolini or Nordstrands, both of which are in a different league to the far east produced Bartolini Mk1 IMO. Of course YMMV.
  8. Met up with Karl to swap my cabs for his Musicman Bongo today. Deal went really smoothly with excellent friendly communications. Never thought trading with someone from more than 200 miles away could be so simple. Great guy, enjoy the Bergantinos Karl.
  9. Aw shucks, you guys.....
  10. I had the same problem with a LM3 . It turned out to be a fractured solder joint on the back of the quarter inch speaker output jack socket. If your confident enough in basic repairs it might be worth having a look for this simple fault before spending real money.
  11. I have an SR500 that I replaced the stock average bartolini mk1 pups and pre amp with USA Bartolini pups and ntmb pre amp. Totally transformed the sound and plays as well as the top range SRs. I also have an SR1200 with us Nordstrand big singles which has a much brighter in your face tone than the us bartolinis. I prefer the Nordstrands for rock and the barts for RnB.
  12. Combo head 2 = Little Mark 3 head.
  13. IME GK heads are totally different to Markbass. GK are much more aggressive.
  14. Sounds like the pre amp valve is on the way out. Do you still get the crackling when you turn the pre amp to solid state only? If not then the valve needs replacing. Although pre valves last much much longer than output valves they can fail prematurely.
  15. Photo of headstock removed?
  16. I guess a previous owner did the swap. Still a beautiful bass. Good luck with your sale.
  17. As a 2010 pbass it would have had a USA standard neck plate. It would appear that someone has swapped yours with one from another bass (possibly a vintage reissue? ) as the serial number is not on the USA standard plate. Lovely bass all the same. If the shop did the swap that's bad.
  18. The serial number indicates this is a 2010 PB. From 2012 onwards custom shop pick ups with slightly raised pole pieces were fitted to USA Standard P and J basses, the photos show flush pole pieces also indicating pre 2012. Perhaps the thread title should say 2010 to avoid confusion?
  19. Whereabouts are you please?
  20. If you don't need the extra facilities that the big bang has over the LM3, then the LM3 is considerably cheaper.
  21. Start with both volume pots full up then pluck a string and turn the neck volume pot down very slightly until you hear the mids becoming more present. Turning the tone back a little might sound okay too. Both volumes full up scoops the mids a lot.
