Made in USA with 12AX7 tube and solid state mixable pre amp, fully featured EQ and 300W + 300W bi ampable head with 1 x15, 2 x 8 and HF horn cab. Awsome bit of kit but I'm too old to lug it about. Great rig for only £[s]150[/s] £140 ono.

This is the full width head which overhangs my small cabs, hence the sale. It's a brilliant head with very flexible EQ. I've got a MAG 600 narrow width which is why this is for sale for only £100 ono. That's only 33.33p per watt of Brit rock power!!!
Collection from Harlow, Essex. Cheers, Mark.

  3. I think Trace heads were designed to be clean sounding and the valve is intended to give warmth. I was never able to drive the valve to break up. Plus I have a Warwick with active MEC jazz pups and their output is the same as passives until you add bass and treble from the onboard preamp. Actives are not always that hot.

I would strongly recommend not to get the 1x15, but add a second 4x10.
Not only is it no ideal to mix speaker sizes, but the Hydrive 1x15 just isn't the greatest of cabs. The 4x10 is a much better cab and goes a lot louder than the 1x15. It would be a much better rig to go for two of the 4x10's.

If Sparky Mark is redaing this then he'll agree with me as he used to have the full Hydrive rig and also wish'd he'd gone for two of the 1x15's.

    Cheers Sam,

I had the LH1000, but could never get on with the passive tone stack controls. I also had the HX410 and Hx115 cabs and would recommend 2 of the 410s for a monster rig. One of the 410s could handle a loud gig on its own whereas the 115 couldn't. I personally prefer the greater tonal flexibility of the HA Hartke heads, but if you like the LH tone it could be a winner. Sold my LH and still have my old 3500. I would recommend you try a Markbass LM2 or LM3, they are great heads and drive the HX410s a treat.

  5. I just bought Faron's Markbass SA450 in fantastic condition in an as new Markbass soft case. All as advertised, packed and posted fully insured. Good communication and prompt delivery, trade with confidence.

  6. I assume you're looking at secondhand if you're after a LM2? Also consider the SA450 which has the extra features of the LM3 plus hi mid and lo mid semi para EQs. They pop up now and again on BC and are brilliant heads IMO.
