  1. I've bought and sold a number of basses with Bassdirect over the years (including a dingwall). They are brilliant to deal with in my experience.
  2. Personally I don't look for "genre specific" mastering. More of a consideration when selecting a mix engineer for me. The key I think is getting someone who specialises in mastering, rather than someone who does mostly mixing with a bit of mastering on the side. My most recent project was mastered by Pete maher. It's not out for two weeks or I'd share it. https://www.petemaher.com/ Very professional service at reasonable prices. His client list speaks for itself. Super experienced guy, with great equipment, and most importantly, the knowledge of how to use it.
  3. I have no justification for buying this sadly, but that's an awesome looking bass. Bet its a delight to play. Glwts.
  4. Darkglass Microtubes X Ultra - immaculate condition. Comes in original box. There's a (non-branded) USB cable in there, along with some free velcro on the back of the pedal. Price includes UK postage.
  5. I contributed the bass for this record, its my brother's project. Has turned out great I reckon. Bandcamp, Spotify and Amazon links below. Give it a go and see what you think! Cheers, Rob Amazon Music Bandcamp Spotify
  6. Bit of a thread revival but just wanted to post about this pedal having spent the last few days mucking about with one. Its an amazing piece of kit. The bass presets are excellent, all very useful, and sound great for a whole range of different applications. So even if you don't want to deep dive into the nuts and bolts using the neuro app, there's plenty to go at. I got one specifically for the dual band feature, which is also superb and very customisable. Does exactly what I want with the minimum of fuss. The app is great. Works well for me on both laptop and tablet. If you're going to use it you'll need a basic understanding of how compression works. That said, it's quite a good learning tool - you can see and hear what each setting does. Yes it's not very easy to make substantive changes to all features on the fly, so you'll want your presets dialled in before a gig, but as far as functionality and quality goes, I've not seen so much packed into a single compressor pedal before. Kudos to source audio for taking their own path with their products. This and the eq2 are two of my favourite pedals.
  7. Seconded. I have a 5 string ACG and it's an absolute beast. Bet this is an amazing guitar. Glws, sure it won't be around for long.
  8. Hey - still available?
  9. Yeah the email comms are not so quick. WhatsApp works well though!
  10. If you keep your eyes peeled, second hand dingwall ng/combustion series basses will be priced at just over your budget. They're not light as such but I think that weight/balance is very reasonable for what they are. Otherwise the ibby is likely your best bet. Not aware of much else that ticks your boxes.
  11. Hi - what fivers would you have in mind for a trade? Equivalent value, or cash your way? Cheers!
  12. Does just sound like a very aggressive gate to be honest but who knows. For 45 quid I'll give it a whirl. I'll send you a PM. Cheers
  13. Hi Kev - can I ask what your signal chain is running into it? Does the fault appear during particular styles of playing (i.e. quieter sections), or is it just random? Just trying to understand what the issue could be with it. Ultimately would want to gig with it so potentially is a concern if its got some random fault.
  14. Hi Adrian - I posted this on Saturday: don't know if you missed it? Pasted below. hey all. this is still here. weight is around 3.8kg on my kitchen scales. balance is good sat down and standing - like all Soundgear basses its very comfortable to play as long as the thinnish neck is to your liking. this one's only for sale as i've two of them! it punches well above its price in my opinion. let me know if you need any further info.
  15. Just checked, no tone control in passive mode. Thanks!
  16. 100% correct about the bass in active mode. Bass/mid/treble is now bass/low mid/hi mid. Since its a modern sounding bass anyway there is plenty of high end available without having the treble knob, and the hi mid control is lot more useful to me. I find the same with my dingwall, which has the same preamp installed. I will double check about the tone control in passive mode.

  18. I am considering a pickup swap on a guitar, but the ones I have my eye on are a fair bit smaller than the current ones. It'd be lovely to get some custom surrounds made up to eliminate any gaps - wooden potentially might be nice, but a plastic one might also work. Can anyone recommend someone who would be able to do a good job of this?
  19. For standard B tuned stuff, whatever guitar you like will work within reason. I've a 31.5 inch scale ACG fiver that's currently my main gigging bass with a pretty heavy metal band in this tuning. It works extremely well. The shorter neck makes it easier for me to move around the fretboard, which I really like. EQ is such a powerful tool on our guitars, boards and amps these days that any weaker low end that a short scale instrument might have compared with longer scales (and this isn't always the case!) can be easily overcome. If I was downtuning though I'd reach for a Dingwall. String tension on the ACG is a bit low - but equally, it is manageable. No experience with the Overwater's - great rep for quality though and will no doubt be fine instruments. Other multiscales are worth considering, especially second hand Ibby's which can sometimes be had for a bargain price if you keep an eye out. I've no experience with the Spector's but given their rep for quality instruments, I'm sure they'll be very good. The Dingwall will play great, quality is excellent and is likely to hold value well. I love mine. Clearly I am a bit biased as an owner of one, but its hard to look past the NG2 for this application in my opinion. If your budget needs to also stretch to include a suitably Djent preamp , go with a cheaper Ibby and one of the Darkglass AO Photon or Microtubes Infinity pedals too - will get you some awesome tones for that genre (and many others).
  20. bargain, id have this if i didn't already have one! capable of an awful lot more than just metal. good luck with the sale.

  23. Darkglass Alpha Omega, very good condition. Excellent distortion pedal with a range of tones on offer. The level pot is a bit scratchy but in full working order otherwise. Price includes postage.
