+1 for the ipad 2 As well as iRealb there's Forescore, Goodreader and Medley score reading apps, a bluetooth footswitch for page turning, various free tuners & metronomes etc, Garageband etc with Apogee Jam as mentioned above, a dedicated music stand holder for it, etc, etc, etc ! And the ability to have all your scores in one place - I have pads for different bands, loads of real books, random scores for reading practise, etc...and the score reading apps allow you to edit and annotate your scores - pricey but it really is the best as far as I can tell...
Sitting here freezing my nuts off in my brother's bike shop. I just thought I would post some jazz that may help some of the people who 'don't get' jazz to find a way in. This is a San Francisco based jazz collective featuring some of todays leading new young players. They recently did a double cd of arrangements of Stevie Wonder tunes. So, have a listen to the one we have all played taken in a different direction. Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition'.
Excellent !! thanks for posting that

I recently got the Apogee Jam and found the quality to be impressive using it with Garageband - I've only just started using it so haven't explored it properly but did a couple of recordings for another thread here (blue bossa improv) that may give you an idea...I was monitoring through headphones and was pleased with the ease of use and the sound quality.

Hi guys Just seen this thread and have been having a go at this today - I've played the tune quite a few times but never solo'd over it...I've just got GarageBand and an interface so have been having fun trying to make it all work... :-) My attempts, if I've managed to link to soundcloud properly !! http://snd.sc/vLE6p8 http://snd.sc/rW0seq Really good idea for a thread this, i've found it a good learning curve to record and listen back, as I normally duck out of solos if I have the chance, and if not I usually just go to pieces anyway !! So is it joy spring next ?? :-)

I've been using the forscore app on the ipad 2 for a couple of months, mostly for reading realbook charts and pdf scores - it has some very good features for scrolling, auto page turning, half page turning, as well as editing scores etc - I haven't explored it fully yet and I'm still a bit dubious about using it for multi page scores but i think it's just a case of getting used to it. There was talk of a bluetooth footswitch for page turning fop it but I'm not sure if that is available yet. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/forscore/id363738376?mt=8 also, good reader is another good score reading app, and there's plenty more about: http://techinmusiced.wordpress.com/2010/07/11/a-comparison-of-five-ipad-sheet-music-readers/ obviously the ipad is the more expensive option but also probably the best... :-) -
It sounds like you are using the flash uploader? - Either try the standard uploader, or Make sure you have the latest flash installed (delete your old flash & restart PC before installing new flash) Or maybe try changing to the default IP Board skin (theme) and try uploading again Please let me know if any of these suggestions work!
I've tried using both uploaders, same problem with each - also updated my flash player but still the same...don't know what you mean by changing to the default IP Board skin - is that a setting on the site somewhere ? thanks !

Hi All I'm selling my fretless Squier Jazz, I bought it from the BC forum a couple of years ago but unfortunately I can't find that ad which had the details of the mods that the guy had done... Basically it has had a pickup, nut and bridge upgrade - from memory the pickups are either Kent or Aaron Armstrong, each with a 3 way selector switch. The bad bits (which were there when I bought it) - it has a ding on the front of the body, which I have tried to show in the pics, and the fingerboard is scuffed. Anyone who hasn't played one, these are very nice basses for the money - I payed £300 for this due to the mods (i think the seller priced the upgrades at about £150) so looking for £220 or thereabouts. It's in north London N7 or N22 if you want to try it - any questions feel free to ask, and I can take more pics if need be...it also has a silly little skull put on by me as a nod to the bass of doom, which can be removed if you like !! :-) Thanks, Phil ps. I can't seem to upload the pics for some reason...will keep trying !!

Hi All I'm after a favour if anyone can help: Are there any Overwater Progess 6 string owners in/around London that would let me quickly try their bass out ? Reason is I'm looking at a 2nd hand one on the forum but it's too far away to try, and I'm concerned the string spacing is wider than I like. Many thanks in advance. Regards, Phil
