Doesn't the fact loads of young kids on YT are nailing it...

Hang on a minute we are bass players. If we stray from the root notes we get told off by the guitarist or keyboardist who feel threatened that we might actually have some skill hiding in our clumsy big hands. I love the major scales. All those lovely notes to be used up between the root notes he says with an insane looking gleam in his eyes 🤪 -

I know I am going to upset people here but what the heck (not the sausages) I am only here once Why would the best bass player of all time use the worst bass of all time? Rumor has had it at that time they all used Fenders in the studio anyway. Sorry do apologize I have just realized the answer. The reproduction equipment in those early days was almost as bad as the Hofner bass -
Your not supposed to use a hollow aria for chopping down trees. Your supposed to use a solid Westone 😀

We used to sell collectable on feebay some years ago. Sent them all over the world. We stopped because of the thieves among the buyers. Didn't get it, doesn't fit, the box was empty, it arrived broken (here is a photo of the broken one I already had) E bay and pay pal always favored the buyer which is pretty dumb as buyers never pay fees. Dogs and hands that feed come to mind but they are too stupid to see it. They are killing their own business and taking many other little sellers down with them. We gave up on them Good riddance!

What do you do when you want to make one of your G&L's even more brutal? String it BEAD 🤣 If you couldn't use all its power before you certainly can't afterwards. Wimpish rubbish of course you can. I have wanted to experiment with bead for some while because I don't tend to use the g string on my 5 strings very much. So I've been looking for a cheap victim bass to do it to. Yesterday I woke up to the fact that I don't need another bass for this but what can I use. Something strong and powerful with big tone. It took me a long time to decide between my Blueburst and my clear coat orange. Blueburst is I believe ash over alder and weighs about 9lb 5 oz. Clear coat orange is solid ash and weighs 10lb 7 oz Not that heavy once you are wearing it on a 4 1/2 " Lekato strap. My 5 string clear coat is 12 lbs 2ozs including its strap. Anyway orange won and is so strong it didn't even need a setup afterwards. Lovely great big noise. I'm back in love with it. -

Leos designs had and still have everything a bass needs to be recorded on nearly all the best records ever made. It didn't become the go to by accident. All the multi laminate fancy decorations on many modern boutique bases are just that. Makeup. So there mer 😁 -
I love Belgian beer also. Welcome. Its your round😀

Lovely collection of basses but Why sell the LX5? You could have given it to me if you didn't like it 🤣 Ensuing bun fight over others who would have liked it!

So how much neck protrudes inside that string holder? Are those two bolts into inserts of some kind or are they screws going straight into the end grain of that neck?

Last time I bought a guitar from Thomann they used UPS I think and I was charges about twice the import duty I should have been. The excuse from Thomann was it is the couriers brokers who set the value and duty there is nothing we can do goodbye. Now you may call that sorted out properly I don't!

Congratulations on a great find. I fail to understand why they are not more sought after. So much bass for the money. I love them. -

Does anyone make inserts with thicker tops so they sit right in and still have a level top. -

Beautiful bridge, beautiful body. Those washers look awful. I think the route idea above was maybe the answer. He was being more polite than me. It looks even worse because the fabulous depth of shine makes it look like 4 washers. Sorry but telling you the hard truth. Tough love we call it.
