  1. That attention to detail is awesome and the finish looks like the kind of finish my son puts on classic cars he restores for a living. If it plays and sounds as good as it looks WOW!! That laminated nut caught my eye. So much detail. I'd almost be afraid to pick it up. I hope the 5 string matches the quality and serves you well.
  2. And if we could get hold of the rafters from the houses they grew up in we could make replica guitars out of them and retire straight away. Oh that plan doesn't work! I am retired oops.
  3. The gloves are for a nerve type medical contition that makes your hands shake or twitch. The feel of the glove stops that happening.
  4. I had one of those and a Dyane. Such a shame they rotted so well. Fabulous cars for dragging large amounts of speakers about
  5. Oh Yeah Like how did it get from Liverpool to Southend on Sea and survive 60-70 years.
  6. If you ever have that problem again I can lend you a rasp.🤣🤣

  8. I am about 40 miles from Tadley. In Princes Risborough HP27
  9. I love the message in this video. i.e. Extract your self from your own orifice. lol
  10. Handsome bass congratulations on your perseverance waiting for it for so long.
  11. I have a Taiwan built Squier P Bass and CV Squier Jazz. I like them both but haven't has enough playing time with either yet as I have many other basses. Of the two the Jazz is the one I reach for. The P bass is nice and only cost me £50 so you can't grumble at that. I wasn't looking for a P bass but it just popped up on Gumtree so I bought it. I do like the slim Jazz neck. Heavy but nice to play. Also very fond of my G&L's. Sorry to be so vague. Too hard to choose. 🤔
  12. The link seems to end up back at your post 🤔
  13. Just a couple of days ago I had an email from a Vineyard church quite local to me. It was an invitation to a Worship jam they are doing. It is an initiative to build a new worship band as they feel they need more bodies to cover extra services they are putting on including an evening service which will be all worship without any teaching or sermons. I sent a yes to attend and got back lead sheets for the 3 songs they want to try out to start with within hours. I've been trying to get the gospel church where I play to use lead sheets for 18 months with no results. This looks like I might be on the move to serve much closer to home than the 44 mile round trip I have been making for the last 18 months or so. Please pray for me that all is well and according to Gods will.
  14. I have those awful strings on most of my basses because if you like depth and sustain they are great! 🤣🤣
  15. Was the Andertons one a 4 string with clear orange finish? If so I bought it as B stock there was wood shavings in the the neck pocket under the heel
  16. Can anyone enlighten me as to what Empresswood exactly is. Sounds a bit suspicious to me. Sorry just Googled it as would have been sensible before asking. Genuine tonewood good for basses mainly grown in China Paulownia.
  17. Pink just edges it for me. It's just that tiny bit more cheerful. Unless your a Caterpillar 😀
  18. I bet you there are plenty of retired musicians who play golf as well. 🤣
  19. Then sneak in the church back door. It works for a lot of clergy.

    Hello

Welcome from Sunny Buckinghamshire. Hope you enjoy your stay. Where in the SE are you if you don't mind me asking
  21. I understand that completely. Have been the victim of churchianity several times where authority is taken over by arrogance and bullying by high ranking non- believers. Plenty of very good teaching online available if you are careful to ensure it is in line with the written word. Be of good cheer.
  22. Absolutely agree with this added to the feeling from what I have read so far i.e all of it he seems to want to live in the past and not move on. Do you think he may actually be insecure about his ability to learn new stuff and move forward. Ruts can be awful difficult to get out of at times. I will add here as others have intimated this is beginning to look more like a clash of personalities where it is likely you are both wrong. That beer and chat is looking like the way to go. Mines a pint!
  23. Dave Great stuff. Who took over the singing? How far are you from Oxford. Don't generally go to gigs nowadays but wouldn't mind venturing out for a listen sometime as I cant be that far away he says not being sure how far west Oxon stretches
