Tinted finish chipped on bass body - repair options?
Ralf1e replied to Mottlefeeder's topic in Repairs and Technical
I have had some limited success with super epoxy quick setting. It sets very hard and can be rubbed down and buffed out with finishing compounds. -
Looks nicely cooked to me. Question before you fit the new one is how? Is your crossover faulty or do you have adjustment for the level of balance between the crossover and the main drivers. If you do you may have sent too much oomph the wrong way.

What was your bass? Chances are one of us might have bought it.

This gets difficult certain shipping companies inflate the charges they are allowed to charge for collecting the vat etc. This happened to me with an order from Thonman in Germany. No one seemed to be able to or wanted to put it right. Shipping company charged me about £56 to bring in a £135 guitar. Bless thier thilthy black hearts.

That was some line up. I wasn't there but I knew Colin Bass the bass player from Camel from his Velvet Opera days when he was just about 17 if I recall. My brother was the guitarist for the velves. Check out I can see your house from here by Camel. Hope I got it right, I were a kid then in the Velvet Opera days.

If they were as bad as you say, like worse than school children why are you upset they didn't take you on?
-
Sorry didn't se this earlier. So you walked through to door and tried to take over? Your sound clips don't inspire me to believe you are qualifued for that.

I do slurs and vibrato with frets and hamner ons and pull offs. Been doing them since before they were invented apparently but I am not classes as good in my eyes or ears as the case may be. Even did tapping before it was invented. I called it bouncing the octave and moved on from there. Cutting the end off of my fretting index finger sorted all that out for a few years. Do you have a fretted bass? Go and use it. If it's not the bass it might be you. To my ears you are not fluent enough on a fretless and yes before the evil finger issue I did play fretless and freted as it suited me.

Technique when playing octaves (Right hand)
Ralf1e replied to Fletcher's topic in Theory and Technique
You have to build that muscle memory and strength in the fingers/hands. Try using a finger exerciser and also wherever you are no matter what you are doing drive those around you mad by learning to drum on the table with your finger tips. Alternate the finger patterns you drum like a drum roll. It will serve you well in getting those rhythms into your head and hands as well as build up that muscle memory. As you get older you will start to stroke the strings and use bigger amps lol -
Forgive my question if I am wrong but is the original photo a 5 string and the offered bass a 4 string?

Love this post. Very informative. My weapon of choice is a Tormek T7

Whatever you listen to and whatever you play feeds your mind. This is why nearly all secular music and churches like Hillsong are spoken against by radical teachers. Kind of "you are what you eat" for your ears. I destroyed all my valuable rock, blues and non Christian records, cd's and tapes etc years ago. I'm not saying it is for all but let me put it this way. Would you read the satanic bible? Yet we can find ourselves listening to anti Christian influenced media everywhere. Even piped radio music in the workplace is full of garbage that is brainwashing people into dangerous territory. For the record I have never played outside of a church band and have also turned down playing in church for money. I serve my Lord for love not money. It is a privilege to serve Gods people in that way. Not meaning to rant but please, please do consider what you are feeding your mind and spring clean your life from time to time and you WILL be blessed.

Love this video. I have sent it to our Wattsap chior group several times and I believe it has helped tame the zeal of the drummers especially.

The Gospel church I serve at bought me in "to make a groove" as Mr Wooten might say. The icing on the cake is at 69 years I am the oldest member they have ever had and at the moment the only white man with the exception of my lovely wife. I do use 5 strings and I do use alot of the fretboard especially to play laterally from around the 7th fret or there abouts. They love it loud and pounding so they can get down and dance before the Lord.

I played in one church where two people in the congregation were adamant that the guitar coming out of the P A was far to loud. On closer investigation it turned out we had forgotten to switch it on. True not a joke.

Lead guitarists and singers will always want to be number one as will talented keyboardist. The first thing a music publishing company does is see who they can split off to be the number one and pay you other mugs a cheap wage eg the three degrees became ....................... The shadows became........................... I won't go on You can think of dozens between you, go on list them lets see how many we get. You can work it out. Its a recipe. Turn said band into our pet what ever they are and the band that put them there into just that. they don't care as long as they can end up dealing with one not 4,5 or 6 because ONE is easier to control than 4,5 or 6. Dont belive me? Fine follow the Ostrich.
