Absolutely. The ones on their page look somewhat better than the much used photo of stuff on ebay etc so I am looking forward to seeing if it compares favorably to the photos they use or otherwise.

I few weeks ago I was given a Honer LX 90 B by a friend. It had a bit of wiring to sort out and a broken nut as well as a good deal of body damage. On close investigation the body appears to be a slab of very heavy mdf so a refinish is not to my taste. It sounds OK has good acoustic sustain and has a rather nice neck. I have a Gear 4 Music solid Ash P bass body being delivered to me today along with a new nut for around £57 inc shipping. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Let the fun begin. Will update with photos later today.

If you watch a motion capture film of a person sleeping i.e. in bed tha amount of movement is an eye opener. You may find cables will always get snagged. Can you go wireless with cans for listening in bed. Boss are very good and you get to use them for practice as well. Downside being the 300 quid price.

If a company can't keep it's new releases compatible with the original release they are acknowledging the original was crap and get crossed off my Christmas list. Just my opinion of the "buy the latest" crap we are subjected to. If it works why change it? If it didn't work or had faults send out replacements to us all.

I don't believe Thomann got as big as they are without a cunning plan. That plan was the fantastic service they give and the enthusiasm they have to get it right and sell ridiculously good products at ridiculously user friendly prices. If they get any better God help all other retailers and builders. Yes you might have to do a set up but you get that everywhere. At least HB's are fit to set up. Today I set up a six string (boo hiss) H B TE-80 Prince version I bought yesterday (used) as a gift for a friend who is going to learn to play by another friend. Neck of, shimmed it, truss rod set, level, crown and polish the frets, new strings, intonation, bridge adjustment. 3 hours. It now plays as well as any other six strings here including my Gordon Smith Graduate. It sounds great as well. You get what you pay for or put in/add afterwards.

Mr Macca comes to mind he could sing it all because he co wrote and or wrote it all. That and he is a clever clogs as well

But don't you find that after you choose one to play and go around and apologize to all the others you own there is no time left to play. I know I do. Na Testicleese let em work for their place in my affections. Lazy scum get it easy compared to a bass that is the only one in the place. 🤣

Yes please do let us know where it arrives as well. Shame to waste some irony this big 😀

Our efforts from this last Sunday. We had our top Worship leader on the desk to mix it this week and I feel he does a great job Been watching some of your services over the last few days and you have some great stuff going on there. A big encouragement.

I used to sing lead vocals at times as well as play bass years ago. Having taken time out for some years I find it much harder now at 70 years young. I can still play and sing backing vocals but it is not as easy as it once was. I can't even tell you how I did it. There are very few bass players that have been successful at lead vocals and playing at the same time. It is also easier if I am playing a 4 string than a 5. Auto pilot kicks in easier with 4.

My first thoughts as well

I have no idea what you're talking about...

I remember David Bowie demonstrating how he did this in a televised interview. -
I recently stepped away from a Gospel church where shouting is the norm. They seem to think the louder they shout (not sing) the more spiritual they are. Volumes were so bad with already damaged ears I was known to stop playing and walk out of the building because it caused me physical pain. Bearing in mind I was using a 1000 watt stack backed off for quality of sound not quantity and the monitors they were using were about 1400 watts each. One word. Insanity. I now play at a church that have gone all in ear and when you take the iem's out the foh is louder than we hear as a perfect balance which is all we need. Absolute Bliss Tell them they WILL GO DEAF if they persist in using high levels of backline or monitors. Hope that helps.

I had a German built thumb bolt on four string and absolutely loved it. So nice to play I don't understand the comments about neck dive and hard to reach frets but then I do have arms that reach to within 3 inches of my knees 🐒 I gave it to my Grandson to help him get started with a quality bass and now he loves it as well. Try it out you might be surprised.

Is a new mass-produced bass ever worth more than £1500
Ralf1e replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
Certainly not! But apparently you are. Do you not understand that all that first section of time wasting is theft, especially as many manufacturers have a production bonus in place which means you are not just stealing off the company but off your workmates as well. I am now retired but I spent many happy years in the workplace making improvements to both products and processes which inceased working conditions and profits. It was a win win situation all round. You have no need to come out with negative garbage like the above unless I touched a nerve, which I suspect I did! -

I did work for a company that used to sack them unless it was being used for emergency by prior consent of a team leader. -

Cost cutting in the workplace doesn't have to be replacing people with machines. Example. Cut out the unofficial coffee breaks, cigarette breaks, unnecessary phone and texting breaks, talking breaks and here I mean people who do very little but talk ALL day long and think that is work when in fact they are not putting in any effort to do even a scrap of the physical part of their job. i.e. making product. Wastage by not doing the job properly the first time so it has to be done again (no money in doing it twice) Teams of overpaid parasitic idiots stood around presentation boards talking testicleese while claiming to be part of 5 or 6 s groups. Clear away that little lot and you could get over twice as much quality product out the door for less cost. -
Looks nice whatever it is

How about a circuit built into the guitar that automatically shuts it off after the end of the first movement of the solo

Not by intension but looking back above instead of Rayman your name has come out on it. I can't say I know enough about this system to say how or why. I must have done something to make that happen but I have no idea how. Do apologise oops.
