    Hey-ho

Welcome Sam. Enjoy the search for tone etc
  2. I really like that. Any chance of more details about it?
  3. Horseshoe Brand. Cattle brand, soldering iron budget brand. Irons in the fire brand Next
  4. I am but I don't like short scale and I don't fancy the tight gaps tween the strings. My Ibby fan fret 5 is tight. That looks even closer. I have 4 five strings including 2 multiscale. Why am I even looking at that piece of poo. I need to give myself a good scolding! Er talking to! Modern etiquette.
  5. Thanks to all for sound advice and help. It isn't made clear if it is a scaled down version in the listing which I found a few of doing a search. Being a fretless five gives it less appeal to me than if it was a four especially with that tight string spacing.
  6. Found on Gumtree. Anyone know the maker or anything about this. Quality, build etc Is it woth a punt or firewood? Please view this ad: B/ bass guitar , https://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/b-bass-guitar/1454299922 Price: £ 99 Download the application from the Google Play Store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gumtree.android
  7. I have most of a box of instant Chinese noodles (shrimp flavour) out of date by a few months so already vintage. I will swap them for a good Precision. Preferably fretless
  8. In sales we called it price conditioning. In the building industry it is a practiced sharp intake of breath.
  9. A bit of both. They still want what they hoped for as an increased investment. Inflation has eaten the increase. Sad realy.
  10. If you tune that string either up or down by a bit just to test it does it still ring out? Maybe a resonance thing at a particular pitch.
  11. In his early days before he wore his glasses John Lennon was once asked if he got nervous up on stage in front of all those people. He said no I can't see em
  12. I don't think it has to do with the value of the basses. It is the value of the currency that has gone down by that much. Example my shocked wife glanced at a shelf in Tesco's the other day and exclaimed £1.70 for a tin of soup. Then the air turned briefly blue. In November Standard life were good enough to let me know that around last Feb March time last year the value of my private pension had gone down by just over £5,300 in a matter of about a month. Bless them why didn't they tell me at the time 🤣
  13. I second the vote for trying out the G&L L2500. Powerful tone machine but heavy ish

    Tone King

Nice looking bass. Its my birthday tomorrow hmm
  15. This for sure. Measure the depth of the neck pocket as well as the thickness of the heel of the neck to help buy something that will give you a good action without a load of mods. Also check if your neck heel is curved or straight to be sure you get the correct type. Have fun
  16. I had a Fender Mustang 40 watt version II that had a nice selection of presets for guitar including some nice clear settings. I didn't try it with bass although I believe Fender says they can be used for bass as well as 6 string guitars Might be worth going to see if you can try one out somewhere.
  17. Agreed I keep looking at my Thunder 3 and thinking it will destroy the value. Not worth wrecking a great bass like that on a whim.🤣
  18. Welcome. There are people on here up your end of the country. Failing that it's online jamming. Hope you get it sorted out

    Colin

Welcome Colin. This should get you started https://www.fender.com/articles/scales/bass-guitar-scales-for-beginners Enjoy the journey 👍
  20. Welcome Steve, Evesham always feels cold as you go down through the vale especially on a motorbike. Never worked out why
  21. Welcome Daniel, Best regards from the Chiltern hills Buckinghamshire.
  22. Welcome Jon. Precision or a Jazz will do what you want. Squier classic vibes are great for the money as are Harley Benton basses. I haven't owned a HB bass but they have a big following on here. From the number for sale I would suggest bypassing the Squier affinity range. That many owners moving them on has to tell us something.
  23. One long scale fretted one ubass fretless. Job done or not as the case may be
