1. Thanks all for the responses, best wait and see if I have a sale then!
2. Just a quick question all, I may be about to sell an item within Europe via bank transfer. Aside from waiting 24 hours once the credit has been recieved into my account, is there anything else I need to ensure? Are there any different rules/abilities in recalling the credit by a European bank (as I understand U.K to U.K. transfers are pretty final)? Thanks in advance..
3. Hello all, How do I skip to the most recent post on a topic that is many pages long when using BC mobile? I have a iPhone. Thanks, Andrew
4. I'm still mulling over it, I fancy giving it a try, but I think I will be unlikely to get my money back if I want to sell.
5. ..... when you are not interrupted by the Bingo.
6. Damn, 5 hours and 9 minutes away with some walking required according to Google maps! Oh well, have a bump on me..
7. Afraid so, I will give you a shout if it all goes a bit 'ebay'...
8.
I always keep my gear in the house. I bought a couple of cabs once that had been kept in an unheated garage over winter and they smelled musty and damp. They worked OK but surely on a long term basis that can't be good for them. Apparently our cat used to get into my 118 Mesa Boogie cab through the large slot ports at the bottom. I discovered this one night when it appeared in front of me on the pavement after I'd just unloaded outside a local gig! I managed to catch the thing and get it back into the car and back home before I had to start playing.
Now you come to mention it, I did have a Trace 2x10 monitor cab once that I stupidly kept in a shed, it didn't take long for the diaphragm material to become so damaged it split during a gig.
9. I leave our in the garage, it is an internal one though (i.e. Part of the house with heating)... occasionally I leave stuff in the van, but am not keen on it.
10. I'd go try it if I were closer, although I could pay a visit and spend the day trying different basses!
11.
If it is anything like my old four string, very shallow (front to back) but quite wide (top to bottom). As viewed from a playing position, that is. Very flat radius. Extremely easy to set and maintain a very low action (if that is what you want). Graphite can feel a bit cold in the winter though - and even get condensation forming on it if you bring the bass from a cold car into a hot sweaty gig!
Ahh cool, the string spacing is quite small though?
12. Would this be a nice fast, slim neck? I'm not a baseball bat type of guy.
13. Oooooooooohhhh I want to sell the Warwick SS2 now!!!
14. Lovely, Wembley '86 on video, rewind, play, pause, rewind play, until I got it with my first bass at 14. It was even a black Encore P.
15. A rather lovely Status 5 string on Bass Direct at the moment... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Status_S2_5.html Having 5 string / Status GAS at the moment, this especially ticks boxes with simple eq. Not sure I can do headless though, surely a Status needs LEDs too!
16. I bought a beringer combo off the back of a recommendation on here for monitoring. Best £60 I have spent!
17. Not really sure I want to do this, but here goes! I have started using IEM and have really taken to it. I also have a little combo that is enough for my needs if I ever need one. So, my bestest, happy with, valve setup is up for grabs. 1 x Trace Elliott Hexavalve 1 x Barefaced 2x12 with Roqsolid cover The head has behaved faultlessly and runs either 2 or 4 ohm, its pretty damn powerful and has the GP12 graphic. two of the valves have been bypassed by the previous owner as it was too loud for him. I have the valves, but have never fitted them, plenty loud enough. I will include the additional valves. The written print on the amp is worn as you can see from the photos, however, the amp does not feel well used (ie all the sliders and pots, buttons etc work perfectly and do not have a worn loose feel - if that makes sense). Comes in its own flightcase to keep it safe. i have added two rubber feet to the bottom so the amp sits nicely on the Barefaced cab (as it also sits on the handle). these can be easily removed. As for the Barefaced 2x12, well it speaks for itself doesn't it really? Its the non tweeter version, there are some scuffs on the handle, but thats about it. Comes with roqsolid cover. Feel free to pop down to mine on the south kent coast for a blast if you fancy it. Im happy to meet within a reasonable distance. I could possibly posy, but that would cost an absolute fortune i suspect. You'd be better off collecting and having a nice cuppa tea. Im happy to take £[s]650[/s] £600 for the amp and £[s]600[/s] £550 for the cab or £[s]1200[/s] £1100 for them both. Obviously contemplating some sort of courier would be adding to this. PM me if you are interested... thanks, Andrew
