Hi all, Do you have recommendations for my brother in law, whom is a newly converted bassist. He has been dabbling with a cheapy, buy now wants to get a little more serious, he has £500 (now he has sold hid guitar stuff). The bass he is after would have: a Les Paul/SG type look Natural wood/sunburst in colour 4 string easy/fast neck (he is a little chap, so would struggle with big tree trunk necks) Funky/Punchy any ideas? I guess the look is the least improtant because a Les Paul/SG look is a Les Paul or SG!

I have a quatravalve, I LOVE IT!!!!! Im sure the Hexa is even better!!! good luck gooing it up!

My mate a work brought his new one in, it reminded me of of a cheap Thunderbird copy to play. Take that comment as you like! sounded ok though.

I had one once, it had quite a nice feel to it, but buzzed a little when on the "bridge only" pickup. I remember it being quite cheap to but, worth the money.

Hi all, I need some advice.. I have just bought my first valve amp, its a trace elliot quatra valve. as you probably know, it runs at 4 or 8 ohms. I like the sound of SWR cabs, so... to go with this I have an SWR son of bertha (1x15 + horn @ 8 ohm) and a modded 2x10 SWR cab running at 2 ohm. Is this ok to run the amp at 4 ohm like this? or will i soon be looking for new valves??!! I would link the 1x15 through the 2x10. should i rewire the 2x10 to 8 ohm? thanking you all kindly in advance... im now on the all valve dream, yay!!
