1. Thanks Dr. I honestly won't be sad if I don't sell this. You actually have the time it takes me to get my Rickenbacker next week to buy it cos if its not sold by then I'm running it alongside a Hartke LH500 and Ashdown 4x10" for the full Ric-o-sound experience.
2. Hit me with your rythym stick South Side of the sky Won't get fooled again - managed to get the rock band to do this one last gig os its in the set now
3. It would probably cost almost as much to post as what you're asking for it. That's a scary good price for such a beast
4. I'd have this off you in a minute if it was postable- now I'm going out into the sunshine
5. I had a Super Foundation 2x15" from about 1971 and sold it without speakers for £360 3 or 4 years ago
6.
What? Kennedy dead?
Trying to steal the Jack ruby apparently.
7. Aren't they made by Behringer?
8. I used to gig aTrace AH150 which would've been putting out about 90w @ 8ohms into a Trace 4x12"- plenty of power
9.
Only thing I can offer on the debate is that I did read that he used a Telecaster bass on 'South Side Of The Sky'. Aside from that, I like to think it's the Ric on most of the other stuff.
Along side Siberian Khatru, That's one of my favourite Yes songs
10. There's something else that I have my eye on now so this is up for grabs. I bought the MB210 combo at the end of last year and the 115MBE cab shortly afterwards. For something so small and light, this goes very loud and gnarly thanks to the GK Boost control. I've used this for everything from small pubs to huge social clubs and its never failed to deliver or come close to its limits. The combo has the usual GK parametric EQ and boost controls as well as horn on/off button and a limiter which I have on all the time. It puts out 350w on its own or 500w with a second cab. The cab is the 400w 8ohm version and not the cheaper 200w one. A lot of the bottom end trouser flapping quality comes from this cab and IMO its a perfect match to this combo. The cabs are in near mint condition and have been kept in their matching Roqsolid covers since Ibought them. The combo cover has blue piping and the cab has red so that I could tell which was which whenever just wanted to grab the combo. There is some marking to the bottom of the combo and cab when they have been put down outside the car prior to loading them but nothing major and nothing visible when you are using them (unless you wanted to stack them horizontally for whatever reason) Oh yes, with them being identical sizes you could stack them horizontally. They both come in at under 16kg each making it an easy one journey from car to stage with the pair of them All in, including the covers, they cost me about £800. I am going to do them for £580 posted to mainland UK. They are less than 6 months old and still look almost brand new. Here are some pics, I will try to get more up over the weekend, if they last that long. I won't split them unless I have definite offers for both
11. I'm sure that in the video for No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed he has his Telecaster bass with second single coil fitted. I saw them a few years back and Chris & Steve changed guitars every song
12. I'm a big fan of Peavey and MAG 4x10"s. A couple of years I depped with a band that had 3 guitarists all trying to be the loudest. At the time I had a Gallien Krueger 700RB II and 2 MAG 410"s. Made mincemeat of the lot of them.
13. How about a Mustang?
14. Yeah I'm all ears waiting for the announcement of venues and tickets. Apparently it was Rhino's idea for them to do it. Big Fat Mamma is one of my favourites of the old Quo stuff so I'm hoping for some of that and more of the old set
15. I'm shortly going to be having my first Ric in a number of years and when I am playing with the rock band would like to use the ric-o-sound output to 2 amps. I know I can use a Y-cable but I'd like to use a splitter box and I thought while I was at it, I could make it buffered. I already have the stereo & mono jacks, enclosure and cable to get me started but what should I be looking for buffer wise & anything else I need to include and are there any easy to follow diagrams available? Ta.
16.
'Fat Rich' I expect someone will come along soon and say nitro strings sound better than poly MB1. Cheese strings taste better.. Coat Collected.
That's debatable
17. These go very well with Hartke LH500s and no I'm not buying this one You've cost me enough this week
18. Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty YYZ - Rush - go on, I dare you
19. If this doesn't sell then I'm either going to put everything together and hang them both on the wall or take the frets out of one of the necks and build the most neck diviest double neck bass the world has ever seen
20.
A lot of Trace present in this rig... yet it doesn't seem to be as popular as it once was? Why is that? I used to have a fair bit of Trace and I never really dug the sound despite everybody saying that it should be what I should be using. It certainly doesn't seem as prolific now...?
I was always a big fan of the cabs more than the amps but now that you can get light weight stuff for realistic prices, it makes better sense for someone like me who just wants to lift a cab and a combo in and out of the gig in one go without needing help or a visit to the chiropractor. Plus, when I was a young lad my bass hero was Nathan East who was using Trace at the time so that's what made me buy it initially, then I suppose brand familiarity and nostalgia kept it going until I couldn't be bothered lifting 40kg cabs 2 or 3 nights every weekend
21. Another one for the Herco 75s. Same ones as Chris Squire uses apparently
22. Thank you Mr Foxen. Been looking for one of these
