No expert but I'd check the tube first but since its under warranty I'd get it back to them. The only problem with getting something else is that you say you like the sound you were getting from it so if you do decide to change and don;t like the streamliner then they probably wouldn't let you change back. Plus if it is just the tube then they are more likely to change it over and then send it back out to you but may let you swap for a bit of goodwill

No because higher frequencies don't require so much power. The lower the frequency, the more power is generally required to make it audible

It'll be a 15" speaker in there and I think there's another one for sale on the forum for £150. Unfortunately they don;t go for a great deal of money as a lot of people are going for more lightweight stuff these days. its not what its worth but around what you'll get for it

sometimes if I add a comment to a thread, post it, then click the Basschat Logo at the top to take me back out then go into the thread again, my response isn't there but if I F5 it it appears. I'm not selecting new content or anything either. Its something I've never used

The specialists are lining up to diagnose what must be the first recorded case of Tourettes Slapping? A A A GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG F F F C AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Thanks, that's totally brightened my day. I'm just glad I saw this tonight cos if I'd logged on in the morning to see this I would have been wiping Weetabix off the screen

I no longer have it but I am going to have a rake to see if I can remember who I bought it from. They would know where they got it from Edit: I didn;t buy it directly from him but Cygnus X-1 owned this so it must've been the person that had it before him who installed it. Personally I don't think its going to be a major issue. The main problem with getting a scratchplate is that the holes rarely line up if you get the wrong one but there aren't any holes to begin with and it would be dead easy to shave a wee bit off to fit if need be with a craft knife.

The information is factual. I am not going to make judgement on this member, merely state the facts so that others do not make the mistake of dealing with this member without knowing firstly what i have had to endure so far. Last week I agreed to a trade with Krinks. We both agreed on Friday as a collection date meaning that we'd both get each other's basses on the same day. I arranged the collection on Thursday and informed Krinks that I would forward the tracking number as soon as I got it. The next day I PMd him the tracking number. On Saturday I PMd him again as I had heard nothing. On Sunday I PMd him again. Later on I got a message saying that he was at his girlfriend's house and would send me the tracking number the next day when he was back home. On Monday I heard nothing. Yesterday (Tuesday) I PMd him to inform them that the bass had been delivered at their end, where's my bass and threatened police action if I did not receive any information. Last night I get a PM back with a tracking number on it and who the courier was. He also told me that the courier doesn't collect on Friday evening or Saturday so it had only been collected yesterday (Tuesday) I enter the supplied tracking number and it comes up as unrecognised. I then PM him back to inform them of this and to see if there are any other numbers as sometimes you get a customer reference and I may have been supplied this but he did not respond. I also asked what happened to Friday during the day and Monday as they were both potential collection days and it was agreed that Friday would be the collection day. I know that he was online after I sent him the message and I know that he has been online after I have sent previous messages with no response. Nothing received on Wednesday. Today (thursday) I have sent him a private message on Facebook and posted on another forum that he uses. The courier get back to me to tell me that the tracking number is not recognised in any way, shape or form. I now have his mobile number, address, place of work, Facebook page and a few other details but no bass. I am now in a position to threaten his livelihood, inform all of his friends on Facebook and many other things if nothing happens soon. I would like to add that i would appreciate if this could be kept just for feedback and not for any other comments. if you have anything to say about this then please use the thread in off topic. thanks

I have to agree with you on that. I'm not into stuff that I have to spend ages tweaking so the BMS is just the ticket. Its not great for doing anything fast low down but play it up an octave and then add in the octave down to the sound and you can play as fast as you like. I've got mine set to play 4 different songs at present and the only difference between songs is one slight movement on one of the sliders to get the desired effect so the lack of programmability does not affect me.

The headstock looks slightly smaller than normal so I would say that it came off a cowpoke

Not cheap but does exactly what you want it to do is the EHX Bass Microsynth. I'm using one for an 80s project covering stuff like Thriller, Pet Shop Boys, Rick Ghastly and so on and it fits the bill perfectly. A cheaper option and one that I nearly went with is the Digitech Bass Synth

I practice in the house with a 40w guitar amp to keep the neighbours happy and can slap away fine on it. Is there anyone near you who can show you how to do it or even find a good teacher and get a lesson on it? It may also be the setup of your bass Some would define slap as a "rattly thud"

Haven't seen any Fender ones but you can get them in black here

Contact the manufacturer. When I had a Roto flatwound D string that felt as though there were gaps between the windings whereas the others were smooth with no gaps I emailed rotosound and was sent a replacement string. That was after they had been on the bass for 5 months. I'm sure a brand new dead string would be replaced by the manufacturer.
"Can I have eggs, sausage, chips and beans?"
and a tea. Live at pompeii, Live at Knebworth and Delicate Sound of Thunder were the first tunes I'd heard of the mighty Floyd in 1989 where I spent most of my 13th and 14th year out of my tree on mushrooms and acid. Comfortably Numb at Knebworth was the amazing bit for me though. Sam Brown - now there was a fox with a beautiful voice. Used to give me goosebumps every time I listened to it. Wow. I had no idea that so many people just look at new posts. eg I have no interest in DB or EUB so I wouldn't venture into that forum. I go to whatever forum I am interested in going to

I loved the Tube. One of the classic music programmes of our generation

Any passive pickups will do the trick as long as they're decent sounding to begin with. The preamp will generally come with the pots but if it doesn;t then it will specify what value you'll need. Most active basses come with passive pickups and a preamp. Pickups like EMGs are active

I much prefer the stuff from Saucer Full of Secrets to the Wall. Could never get into the Syd stuff. Roger always says that it was never his intention to take control of the band but he felt like they gave it to him. He did force Rick out using the threat of deleting The Wall as a means to get him out so by the time Roger left, they were effectively a 3 piece. The Final Cut is more or less all the crap that never made it onto the Wall. If you get the chance, find a copy of the DVD of the Wall Live at Earls Court in 1980. Its really cool cos they have Pink Floyd and the Surrogate band playing at the same time. But alas I also too listened to them during my Mushrooms and Acid days so have trouble listening to any of the tracks beyond Comfortably Numb, apart from Run Like Hell.

Mike Reid is the reason that I play righty when I am left handed. being a young lad of about 10, playing air guitar with my brother's badminton racket I naturally 'played it' left handed. One Saturday morning when watching Saturday Superstore, Mike, who was a guitarist, had his guitar out and I noticed that he was playing it differently to how I was holding it so I immediately flipped it over. Roll on my 11th birthday when I was asked what i wanted. The choice was a small acoustic guitar - right handed. And like the guy with the stiff neck, I've never looked back since. I also believe Gary Moore was a lefty playing righty as well

Not a biggy but I've found that some member's signatures are unreadable like this one Its nothing to do with the size of my screen cos I use my PC through HDMI to a 50" TV
