1. The bridge pickup generally doesn't pick up a lot of low end, that's generally why most basses have another pickup nearer the neck or an active EQ that you can use to boost the bass frequencies.
2. surprised no one has commented on this yet. If you want to turn your amp into a smoke machine then by all means try it. It might be able to cope but most likely will not. I haven't heard anything about this but there are a couple of amps that say minimum 4ohms but can actually run at 2 but I wouldn't fancy trying it whith these.
3. Weight was the reason I got rid of my Ashdown cabs. the 4x10" are brilliant but too heavy when stairs are involved. I bought my Laney cab cos it was relatively cheap, plywood constuction, Celestion cab and 20kg. I love it. I was going to add a second one for bigger gigs but 9 months on i haven't felt the need to. I am thinking about changing my GK 700RB II amp for one of the MB212 combos and have put a thread on to see if anyone is interested, purely cos I need something smaller to allow me to carry everything I need to in the car. I was going to keep my Laney cab for bigger gigs but might not need it so it would be for sale in that case.

5. I take it that Lemmy only has the neck pickup for show? If you've ever heard them live, there's more bass comes out of Phil Campbell's guitar than Lemmy's bass But seriously though, he must really abuse them for them to be looking as bad as that. I know he gigs a hell of a lot but that's a serious amount of abuse.
6. that last post took 44 seconds to load from hitting the post button to it actually appearing
7. I've been on downforeveryoneorjustme.com this morning and he sites been showing as being down. Other times its been taking ages to change pages when I click on a link to go to a thread or subforum. I've had another tab open at the same time on another website and its been working quickly
8. This Laney cab was bought as the culmination of a lot of research. Short story is that its a marine ply cab, built in the UK with an 8ohm Celestion neo driver and lovely big handles for carrying it and combi speakon/jack sockets on the back (input & link) Its so light that if I encounter a narrow gap, depending on what the obstacle is i can either carry it with one hand in front of me or lift it high enough with both to avoid the obstacle. So there you go, that's the sales spiel, now onto the deal: You can read my review of the Laney Nexus NX115 cab here The amp is sold but the rack is still available
9. Have a read at this its stickied at the top of the page
10. They did make a 4 ohm 4x10". Its the 1044H as in 10" x 4 4ohms Horn. I think they were around about the time of the GP12s
11.
theres a chad smith drumming video where flea accompanies him throughout... on a stingray. That is all.
and vice versa - the one where River Pheonix interviews him
12. I think he may have changed around cos I found this from 1985 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JAM-UDQT5M It wasn't the one I was loking for. there's an even earlier live recording where Anthony climbs up the lighting gantry during a song
13.
The amp has undergone somewhat of a make over, but this is purely asphetics
Eh ? Is that some kind of false limb?
14. Another custom cover orderer here. Measured up and bought covers for my Trace 1548, V-type combo and Laney NX115. Absolutely impeccable. Never need to worry about getting my cab wet when loading into a gig plus it lood as good as new after 10 months of gigging
15. I preferred that Marcus Muller bloke - you don't hear from him any more on here
16.
So is Cliff Burton related to Trevor Burton, who visits pubs round here and makes a lot of noise?
Nah it was him that makes Wagon Wheels. As a mark of respect after he died they made them 60% of the size that they used to be. At least that would've been more acceptable than lying and saying that they've always been the same size
17.
Meaty.
Where's that?
18. I saw that over on Talkbs the other day. If he'd used it to record an album or even for an entire tour then yes but he only used it for one song. Why only one? Wasn't it good enough to do any more?
19. Through Interparcel Fedex would do a parcel 15kg 125cm x 45cm x 20cm for £108
20.
Have you thought about using a lower/angled amp stand? But I suspect what Bill says is the core point - the quieter you are the less feedback you're going to get...
I've lost count the number of times I've posted this picture:
21. I put Gotoh Resolite lightweight tuners on my second Warmoth precision.
22. See my sig. The Behringer can be really mild if you want it to be and if you want more of the mild overdrive before it breaks up into distortion you can change the valve
23. I'll go with deaf. If you had been using either your DB or electric with both then I would've said it was the instrument so I'm afraid your ears are to blame.
