Another one of those bass players I largely ignored until I matured as a musician (is that possible? ) and only more recently discovered how great he actually was

Tuners for Squier affinity J-Bass & other modifications
Delberthot replied to TheBear's topic in Accessories and Misc
If you go to websites like Schaller etc they will have a diagram showing the back plate of the tuner's footprint with dimensions. You may struggle to get something exactly the same as what you have now though -
-
Or its a case of they don't make them there any more so those ones are the best and worth more now.

Al Healey was kind enough to PM me a link to this diagram I've never wired a speakon before so don't know how this would translate to that from 1.4" jacks
I use the Korg DT-10. Excellent for live tuning (with a mute option) although I'm not sure whether its true bypass.
I've had one of these now for yonks. I keep it off my pedalboard as I don't always need to use pedals depending on the gig

As someone who's owned several of both Korean and Chinese Epiphones, there is no difference. A bit like the people who pay top money for a Boss OC-2 cos its the Japanese one instead of the Taiwanese one when there's not really any difference apart from a sticker, or in the case of the Epiphone, the neck plate

Alternatively use Photobucket for nowt. That's what I use

When I was a lad I used to frequently end up with a sore index finger so would move to middle + ring finger to play. Nowhere near as fast but at least I was no longer in pain

I used to have a super foundation 2x15" cab and I remember seeing a kind of dummy Vox head where it looked like a Vox from the front but there was actually a Gallien Krueger amp hidden at the back. It was some sort of a dummy head meant to look the part but actually work

A Hondo was my first attempt at a 4 to 5 string conversion and it was the bollocks. Single EMG 35DC in the bridge position with Pickguardian surround and 4000 style pickguard. I get the feeling that the guy who bought it is or was on here. I remember he had a 4002 as well which is almost as rare as the 4005.

Doesnt look the same as the Hipshot I'll take a guess at some generic Chinese bridge

What are you listening to right now?
Delberthot replied to Sarah5string's topic in General Discussion
Queen - Father To Son
Class. I've been listening to the first 3 albums a lot recently. Listening to a fair bit of the Foos at the moment but currently listening to Polly by Nirvana. I never got them when I was young and could never see what all the fuss was about but am beginning to get into them. Partially due to listening to the Foos, I'm listening to each member's other bands so No Use For a Name, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, Nirvana and The Germs -
I'm pretty good as regards to used Epiphone prices but some people are either chancers or wired to the moon. Examples: A standard red or black EB-0 is about £120 new from Thomann. A case is about £65 and a strap would not add anything to the deal - £275 collection only Another one with no case, selling on behalf of an uncle. Of course you are £210 BIN Yet another complete with 'Prunes' amp or whatever its called. That's what it looks like - £200 but at least this one will post A thunderbird this time. £189.72 posted brand new from Thomann. £280 BIN with no postage An Allen woody Rumblecat this time. Normally £316.78 from Thomann, you can have this used example for only £435 There are still some bargains to be had on Egay. Certainly not as many as there used to be but there ain't half some boneheads. Maybe I should rename this the 'used basses on Ebay offered for more than they cost new' thread and have it stickied along with Japcrap so we can all point and laugh at these poor misguided individuals

I bought this brand new in December 2010 and it was the culmination of a lot of reading up on different cabs to decide what the best one for me was. I wanted a lightweight cab that I could lift one-handed. This one weighs 20kg I wanted a cab to use mainly as a monitor but also powerful enough to use for small to medium pub gigs without PA support. This cab is rated 400w @ 8 ohms and has been more than capable of doing exactly what I have asked of it. I wanted a solid ply cab rather than MDF. this cab is made from marine grade ply. I wanted a neo driver and I always loved those Celestion drivers that Trace Elliot used. This one is fitted with a 400w Celestion Neo Green label driver I didn't want a flavour of the month cab either. I much prefer to decide stuff for myself as once the honeymoon period is over the vast majority of it ends up in the classifieds so I decided on this cab based on reviews from people who had been using theirs over a long period. So it ticked all the boxes and has been without a doubt the best single cab I have ever owned but things change so I am going to offer it up for sale here. Its been kept and transported in its Roqsolid cover since I bought it and because I look after my gear, the condition can very easily be described as perfect. The current price for these is £291 in Digital Village which is where I bought mine and given the condition and the fact that it has never been pushed, I am looking for £240. This is a collection only price and does not include the Roqsolid cover. I can post it and still have the original box to do so but I'll need to have a check to see how much it would be. These covers are made to order and the one that you can buy on their website was as a result of the measurements I supplied. they are top notch and this one in particular retails for £37 so I'd be looking for £255 for both the cab and the cover. If you want to see my glowing review of it, you can find it here and if you're too lazy to Google 'Laney' then the website with the specs can be found here If you've managed to get through that lot then you're either interested or have nothing better to do. And now, the pictures:

If I ever play more than one gig in a row I have to prepare myself as my fingers are generally shot after a gig. Something to cushion the pinky may be in order but if you do make sure it can;t come off easily. I once put a plaster over my index finger when I was in pain and it started coming off during a song leaving my finger and the strings incredibly sticky. If was f***ing awful. Maybe try to use your ring finger instead or even slide up and down the notes you need.

Right, I think this is the last thing I have for sale. I've just been trying to sell everything that I don't use and am unlikely to use. This last one should be a great project for the summer for someone. It began life as a brand new Bass Collection Speakeasy 4 string bought for £299 in GuitarGuitar in Glasgow. I bought it because it has the fastest neck I've ever played but I wasn't overly keen about the sound so I planned on replacing the pickups and preamp. This was a couple of years ago when I wasn't as good with a soldering iron as I am now so after many failed attempts the end result is what you see here. You have two choices depending on how much of a project you want. The bass will come with the body, neck, nut, bridge I don't have the original screws but these seem to do the job) and tuners so option 1 would be simply to replace the pickups and electronics. Option 2 would be a complete refinish plus option 1. I could also supply a set of pickups from a Squier Precision Special, Pots and a cap for an extra £7 so all you would need would be a barrel jack socket. The body is a wee bit chipped in places but nothing major and I have tried to show everything in the pictures. It is missing the back cover but that's easily enough replaced using a bit of old scratchplate material or something like that. When I bought this, I had been around every music shop in Glasgow trying everything and I mean everything. I had a budget of £2000 to spend and I went through Warwicks, Fenders, Rickenbackers, Cheap sh*te, Tobias, Schecters and a whole host of assorted cr@p. This was the one that played the best. It didn't sound the best but it played the best by a fair margin. Bearing in mind that its never left the house since I bought it for £299 I am looking for a very reasonably £100 including postage to mainland UK which is a third of what it cost me. Alternatively I am open for trades. I don't have anything specific in mind so fire away with what you have

Yes. Each amp output could have a series box connected to two eight ohm cabs giving 16 ohms. do that twice and your amp will see two 16ohm loads which will make it see 8ohms
-
Compare these two pictures ABM410 MAG414 The ABM has 2 1/4" jacks and a speakon. I'd be more inclined to think that one of those is a link although it isn;t marked as such its more likely, whereas the MAG only has one of each indicating inputs only?

Rare and early Trace Elliot GP7 4x10 combo

So for my next question - does anyone have a simple, easy to read diagram so that I can build myself such a box? I was thinking about a box with 6" of cable coming out of it terminating in a speakon plug to connect to the amp with 2 speakon sockets at the other end I have seen them but they're expensive and I want cheap.
