1. Thanks for all the responses. Just need to decide whether or not to get another one now.
2. I've only used Roto Flats for the past 7 or 8 months but previously used Hartke rounds. I have also used Ernie Balls, Elites, TI flats, LaBellas, Picato, Roto rounds, Trace Elliot, Fender, D'addario Chromes, Dean Markley, Optima Gold & Chrome rounds, Peavey, DR coated and not, Warwick Red & Yellow Label, GHS, Rickenbacker, Hamer, and probably others.
3. Bump Feel free to make me an offer on one or more items
4.
It is a highly evolved direct replacement and if I may be so bold vastly superior to the original in every detail.
Indeed Individual string height adjustment rather than all or nothing, plus string spacing. Solid and actually touching the body, rather than floating on three metal stilts. Does what 'normal' bridges do
5.
Looks like a Fenix headstock to me; if I'm right it should still be worth the BIN, assuming it works.
Yip, best place for it
6. Didn't sell for as much as I thought it would - more like mint 1976 Bicentennial Thunderbird money.
7. I had a 305 which was a a passive with 2 jazz pickups - this will probably be a 315 but because it has the PJ pickups might be different
8.
unlike the sg, the top of a jack casady is curved so would it still fit ?
The Hipshot probably wouldn't fit. It doesn't fit the Les Paul Standard bass so i can't see it doing this one
9. I'd heard korean made in the 80s and I also have a vague memory somewhere in the back of my mind that they also made a bass similar to the Maison ones of the late 80s/early 90s that looked a bit like Bass Collection basses
10. extremely dead ones from any live videos I've watched so possibly flats or just dead strings (he always did look a bit sweaty on stage)
11.
Played my bass/FX/head through a MAG one of these at Neon Studios a few times, phenomenal sound! Nothing else by Ashdown i've ever used has sounded the same, but I can't see them anywhere! Does anyone ever see them about? Maybe TIM can shed some light on this for me?
TIM DOESN'T SELL ANYTHING ON HERE ANYMORE, IN FACT NO ONE DOSE
12. H05 sounds like it could be either something like the month code and year eg August 2005 or some magical coming together of two elements to give Hydrogen Quintoxide HO[sub]5[/sub]
13. Maybe beause a lot of people love them and pour out all their emotions about them here. Someone reads it and thinks 'that's the bass for me'. Buys it and then wonders what all the fuss is about so sell them. Fenders aren't everyone's ideal instruments just like TC, Markbass and whatever is currently flavour of the month either but generally if you love what you have then you're going to tell everyone eactly how great it is. I love my current setup but there ain't a single piece of trendy or fashionable gear amongst it - except maybe the Boss OC-2. I go on about how great my stuff is but generally get ignored cos it ain't the in thing. I've kind of rambled there - the second being that the Fender bass is the original mass produced and accepted bass so I suppose everyone has to try one ( or ten) to find out what the fuss is about and decide whether or not its for them or not. The third is probably people 'upgrading' from a MIM to a MIA ( The MIA precision is without a doubt the most disappointing bass I ever owned, the best was my E Series MIJ) There will be other reasons and perhaps some of what I have said is sh*te but sometimes Fender is made out to be the be all and end all of basses - I've even seen threads where people have said that 'I have X Y and Z, all I need now is a Fender' Why?
14. Having a thought about getting myself a second Laney 1x15" cab and stacking them sideways to make it taller. there are, however, three problems with this: 1 - the feet are on the bottom 2 - if I were to put feet on the side of the cab that was going on top I wouldn't get the cover on it so i can't do that 3 - the handles stick stick out slightly proud of the cab so I need to have something between them Does anyone know of anything you can get for something like this or a type of rubber or foam that I could put between the two cabs that wouldn't cause the top cab to bounce around?
15.
These have got to be good for modification purposes. Chuck a BadAss (other bridges are available!) on it, add an EQ or two of your choice, definitely have some series/parallel/single coil (delete as appropriate according to model of choice) switching, and away you go...
Alternatively they may sound good, albeit look wrong, as they are
16.
Yes, but.... http://www.basscentre.com/bass-cabs/trace-...t-1528-cab.html
They only do an 8ohm version now but in the good old days, Trace would do all kinds of stuff. The 1528 in this thread WHICH IS NOW SOLD wasn't as common as the 1524. an 8ohm one makes sense as I've always thought that a single 15" matches up well with a 2x10" so a 2x15" would go with a 4x10". That way you can run the pair of them with a trace amp for a total load of 4ohms
17. So other than the tuners, shape of the scratchplate, pickup and bridge, isn't this just a rebadged Bronco albeit a hundred quid more expensive? Don't get me wrong I've wanted a Mustang for years but that's a huge difference in price for a few changes. I really hope I'm wrong and there's more to it than that http://www.soundslive.co.uk/common/showima...-0310902906.jpg http://www.soundslive.co.uk/common/showima...32-8402-506.jpg
18.
There are two versions of the 1528 though aren't there? The V-series and the "normal" one? Confusing.
Hint hint Most of the tall ones were 1524s so 2x15" @ 4ohms which was the one that I had which Rumour6 now owns. And the square V-series cabs which were the 1248, 1248H and 1528
19.
years ago there was a Yellow Pages advert, in which a French Polisher* was called to deal with a nasty scratch on a table. If you have a spare bit of cash it might be worth giving one a call? *this is not a euphemism!
I knew a guy that was half French and half Polish - he was a French Polisher.. boom boom I thank you etc
20. Gah - stop bumping this thread - the cab sold last July. Every time I see it I think someone has one for sale and go in to have a look as I fancy another. Its a 1528 so its 400w @ 8ohms
21. I don't think any company would and frankly I've always found it ridiculous that after I've paid someone to do their job I also have to pay a bit extra to cover for their negligence
22.
I do not do this color rarely stock!
Did they get Yoda in to do the translating?
23.
This is a USA-made solid wood bass body from Beavercreek
Poor beavers
24.
In Falkirk?!
In all the 18 years of using that witty remark, no one has ever got it It stems back to the day when someone would be on Family Fortunes or 321 and when they answered a question then find out that they have also won a prize. This would invariably be something like a weekend for two in the Lake District or something like that So a weekend for two in February doesn't actually have any value Hey, there's nothing wrong with Falkirk. In keeping with the rest of the UK we now have 2 fast food outlets for every 3 people which also have a bookies and a pub next to them as well. 2 half empty shopping centres and a rotating boat wheel which isn't actually in Falkirk Now back to the sale -
