Do a search, there are quite a few threads already that will give you all the info you need. I've built two and a couple of others have as well - same reason as you, there wasn't a bass like I wanted at the time

go into great detail about the item you are selling and list all flaws and faults as mentioned previously. If you want to let someone know how much of an amazing deal they are getting, go online and find the most expensive online price so that there seems a greater difference between what you are selling it for and what they are buying it for. Cheeky but it does work. Lots of pictures - use photobucket or similar and insert them using the HTML editor. Its a wee bit tricky the first time you do it but you soon get the hang of it. That way you're not giving Ebay any more money than you have to. List the brand, model and anything important in the title: "1982 Squier JV Precision MIJ Bass" is going to attract a lot more people than "base guiter" The previous two are my main bugbears. If you're trying to sell your car you wouldn;t make a potential buyer view it from round the corner at a distance with some grit in his eye cos that's what they both equate to: ie not knowing exactly what you are going to get. Quote facts about the item you are selling but don't just copy and paste from the manufacturer's website - that Rickenbacker description does my head in every time I see it "famous for its bell like blah blah blah blah". Use your own words and maybe explain why each feature is going to help them. Invite questions but only post certain ones if they are going to help your sale like things you may have forgotten to put in the description If you sell your item elsewhere, like here, simply end the auction. Don't write in the title "sold, please do not bid". Its in My Ebay at the right hand side. I automatically block users with negative feedback or unpaid item strikes etc and anyone from Italy. Nothing against them but their mail system is a shambles and a lot of stuff goes walkies. If you are selling something here as well and its really what you want to get for it then add money onto the Ebay listing to cover the fees you're likely to get if you sell it there. Be prepared for dicks. They're in every walk of life. They'll not pay you, say something's damaged when it isn;t, give you grief and do your box in. One thing to rmember is that if someone sends you a message saying that the item you are listing is overpriced and what are you thinking about, don;t reply to it when you're drunk and then post it cos that's exactly what I did a couple of years ago when I was selling a Rickenbacker 4000. Amazed I didn't have my account suspended as I completely tore in about the guy. And remember, you're trying to sell something to as many people as you can. The more people you interest, the greater the chances are of achieving a good price as they all fall in love with the item you are selling because you described it so well and made them believe that they could not live without it. Corny but that's what selling is all about. 439 positive feedback points and 100% so I must be doing something right

Wiring diagram for Epiphone Explorer bass
Delberthot replied to Delberthot's topic in Repairs and Technical
Never thought about checking out a guitar schematic. That looks like the ticket. Cheers Keen to get it wired up so I'm still going to use the Fender Jazz wiring diagram until i can get a switch. On second thoughts I seem to have run out of pots so I've bought a batch of 500k ones and a switch. -
Bought my 8x10" last year when the weather was really bad. The shop that I was buying from couldn't get a courier to collect so they contacted Ashdown who were able to get a courier. Ended up getting one of the first of the Evo II cabs, in fact probably the first one. After a week or so the grill was taken off to reveal big splits in the front between a few of the speakers. A quick email to the shop I bought the cab from and they had Ashdown send me out one immediately and since I had already got rid of the box they actually waited until I had taken the new one out and put the damaged one in before arranging collection

Wiring diagram for Epiphone Explorer bass

I can't see one on there that would do it. Think I may wire it the same as the thunderbird in the meantime just to bring it back to life. -

I've been going to fix this for ages but haven't had the time. I have an Epi Explorer that someone did a refinish on without taking the pickups off. The pickups are put to one side until I look for something that may be able to remove it without melting the plastic but in the meantime I have the ones from my Thunderbird to put in. When I got it it wasn't working at all, the switch had completely broken off. I'm in need of a wiring diagram but can't find anything - does anyone have one handy? It may very well be the same as the Les Paul bass I'm not even sure what the switch is for, I'm assuming its a pickup selector with vol/vol/tone controls

porn.com is my homepage I'm kidding obviously - its google.co.uk My first visits are generally myebay, gumtree or basschat

totally agree. There isn't going to be any point buying an effects thingy if no one can hear you. get yourself a decent amp that will allow you to be heard with a sound you like first then add on things

Being a salesman in a previous life I am very good at bumming something up to the max to get the best possible price for it If you buy new then you're very rarely going to get anywhere near what you paid for it if you then sell it on again. Only a couple of times has that happened to me. I am a very shrewd buyer and do extensive homework before I buy anything but I am also a gear whore so something that I spent maybe a week researching to find the best price could be back up for sale the very same day that I receive it purely because it does nothing for me. Like Machines, my entire setup has set me back about £300 including brand new amp, rack, cab, kitchen and bathroom purely from buying something cheap and selling it for more. That's right, kitchen & bathroom its up to the individual what they buy and sell stuff for but at the end of the day when you no longer own it its no longer of any concern to you. I've sold a load of stuff for way over what i paid for it and seen stuff that I have sold for more than I paid for it but its no longer mine so I'm not bothered. I've never taken the mickey, just sold it for what I thought it was worth. If I see something very cheap and I want it then I will buy it as I know that I can make money on it if I don't like it. I used to buy stuff on Ebay that was stupidly cheap just to sell at a profit but those days are long gone when you used to see Ricks for £600, JV Squiers for <£200 and Stingray 5s for £550 I'm not hurting anyone & I'm not being nasty

I'm liking the EMG HZs in my Epiphone. No room in there for a battery or anything extra, don;t know what the Tokai is like. I bought the Goth Thunderbird simply because I love the sound of a mahogany body, very dark and growly, just so happens to be what the Gibbys are made from. Too many things put me off getting a Gibson - the strap button position behind the neck isn't the best if you have a gut as it tends to push the bass away at a funny angle and from what I've heard recently, the finish on the Epiphones is way superior to what is coming out of the Gibson factory with runny finishes

The 4004 was an imrpoved version of the 4003, except it has humbuckers, but it doesn't look like a 4003 as it has no scratchplate, sharkfin inlays or binding. Now the binding I can live without as I prefer the 4003S anyway, plus it has dots instead of those inlays so it probably comes down to the scratchplate.
Unfortunately, TE have had both 8Ω and 4Ω cabinets in their product range over the years and it's hard to ascertain where this cab came from in the history of TE.
Normally if the cab name ends in a 4 then its 4ohms. I don't recall there being a 1044 cab. Only 4 ohm cabs I can think of are the 1524 tall 2x15", the BFC was 3 4ohm cabs in one and the 1084 8x10" It looks ike a mark V cab http://www.quicksound.co.uk/articles/trace...mages/10-11.jpg

Well after a few gigs I'm very impressed. It may have lot to do with the bass they're on, my Thunderbird, but they sound really aggressive and not even remotely 'flat' sounding. They're more roundwounds that have done dozen gigs sounding. I managed to get the action even lower when installed these as they are slightly higher tension than the strings I was using so don't flap as much, although the Hartkes felt stiff enough when I was using them. It still sounds very Warwick Thumb sounding at times but that could be partly due to me favouring the bridge pickup, in fact the neck one is rarely on at all. I'm a happy bunny so far. I'll report back after the Christmas party nights are done and dusted as they should be as settled in as they're going to get by then

I got a Wilkinson one which looks identical from Ebay for £17 delivered Still to install it. Funnily enough it also looks identical to the EMG 35HZ that its going to be going with in my Thunderbird
