5 string bridges with 15mm string spacing
Delberthot replied to Delberthot's topic in Accessories and Misc
Most monorail designs will only go down to 16/16.5mm spacing. I think the Warwick style (2-piece) units will do the same. I've got a Kahler (2400?) on my Vigier. It's a royal bugger to do the intonation, and as Ped will tell you, the action adjustment is adjusted in half-turn increments of the saddles. That was too coarse an adjustment for him, but I found it fine. Beyond that, they're excellent but pricey! I really don't know how tight the Kahlers will go, but I'd guess at 15mm or even tighter, due to the shape of the rail pieces.
It was a Kahler I used the last time I did one of these so I know exactly how horrible they are to adjust and tighten up without them falling apart in your hands. Aha, found one and not as expensive as I thought it would be http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-KAHLER-USA-Hybri...=item45f3ee652a Just contacted the seller to double check that it will go down to 15mm but should as it looks to be the same model I used the last time -

5 string bridges with 15mm string spacing
Delberthot replied to Delberthot's topic in Accessories and Misc
I thought they only squashed together close enough for 16mm -
My 2 favourite musicals are the Blues Brothers and Pink Floyd's The Wall

C'mon guys, I spotted this yesterday morning. You're all getting a bit slow at spotting the comedy gold Egmond or tather bacon and Egmond bass with the patented banana headstock as used my Sir Paul of McCartney. Complete with f*** all as it would appear. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Egmond-Bass-Guitar-1...=item3f0408b844 £20

When I saw the first pic I thought - oh no, that's my favourite yamaha colour, what's he done? I really like it - or course as someone with a black thunderbird with flames up the fretboard, I'm all in favour of modifications to make a bass your own and this is certainly unique

In my search for a valve overdrive/distortion I came across this http://damagecontrolusa.com/products/solid-metal/ Anyone here tried this before? Certainly sounds interesting

Without having to go down the route of buying a Kahler, are there any affordable 5 string bridges that'll do 15mm string spacing or near? best I can find is 16mm but I'd rather get 15mm

Where to go for Gallien Krueger in the UK?
Delberthot replied to Tradfusion's topic in Amps and Cabs
Yeah trawling the net is grand but GK amps are single voltage, otherwise I would have bought one out of the States already...but 110v there 220 here...
not true of the digital stuff - you just need to open it up and adjust one of the parts inside - can't remember which one but someone on here posted that they'd done it a year or so ago The solid state RB and backline stuff is single voltage AFAIK -
Will it be chips or jacket spuds? Will it be salad or frozen peas? Will it be mushrooms? Fried onion rings? You'll have to wait and see
Umm, don't ask. Not oriental in any way but do play bass. Been playing for 30 odd years. After hearing Level 42 and RTF what's a guy to do?
Return to Forever? You have good taste if that's what it is Of course it could be Rolf's Terrible Flatulance

As the former owner of 2 - the only way you're getting through the finish is with a file or a saw. If you want the relic look then there isn;t really any alternative to nitro unless you get someone like Sandberg who do relic finishes

Just listed my Chorus pedal on Ebay and this came up:
Attention sellers: Are you attempting to list a counterfeit or non-authentic item? Are you aware the listing of such items is not allowed on eBay? If you continue, your listing will be flagged and promptly reviewed. If your listing appears to offer a counterfeit or non-authentic item, it will be ended and your eBay account could be suspended. We may also refer your listing to the relevant company or law enforcement for review. If the item is authentic, we encourage you to provide more information in your listing. If it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity or has a serial number please state this in your listing. We appreciate your help making eBay an even safer place to trade. Warning: Do not click the submit button, unless you know the item is authentic.
Anyone else had this before? It seems a bit heavy handed, especially considering my feedback score.

i totally agree with you about it being the best Stingray ever - the mahogany body gives it added growl. i sold mine for exactly the same reason: fantastic bass, very well made, sounds fantastic but I don't want to take it to my local to gig with it. Fine if you are playing big stages or doing a lot of studio work well out of the sweaty reach of the anebriated and unpredictable

Has anyone had any experience with a Lado bass before?
Delberthot replied to StevieD_FenderP2009's topic in Bass Guitars
Why did Steve Harris stop using the Lado? I seem to recall that Bruce Dickinson accidently nutted it in two on the world slavery tour...
Could he not just have told him he didn't like it? Seems a bit severe "Hey Harris? See that bass? I'm gonna stick the heid right intae it cos it looks like it belongs in the bathroom accessory section of B&Q" -
Kind of what I had in mind when I started my Baritone thread a month or so ago. I really like close string spacing, plus I'm experimenting with chords so something that would allow me to play bass and learn chords at the same time would be great Either that or I find a 5 string bass that could be converted to 6 string - I've done a couple of 4 to 5s so why not a 5 to 6

Cool - I had a couple of lessons from James Finnegan years ago after he left Hue & Cry and just before he joined Stiltskin

There are plenty of Glasgow based members who may be able to come out with you to help you - at the end of the day its still up to you but someone may be able to advise you. If I had the time I'd come through but i;d probably end up buying something myself
