1. wow, that's really nice If I had the cash etc etc etc Seriously, never seen one in that colour before
2. That's practically giving it away. they normally go for a hell of a lot more than that. Wonder if he's selling a Wal for £800?
3.
the gap is very sligtly over 5.5cm which is grim, but not much mod to fix it i guess wudnt be to hard, is there any decent places to get those necks from? also wud a epi one be just as thin u rec?
That shouldn't require much work to get a thunderbird neck on. Its an Epi that I have This one is already sitting at £60 including postage - may be better off waiting for a japcrap neck to come up? 4. its just slightly over 56mm at the widest point. a standard Fender heel is about 64mm
5.
Was just about to say that. Every time i've seen RW i love it when Andy FL lets rip, first time he did windmills and everything! RE The Bass, i'd prefer the Sunburst Precision he used to use, that's the Fender bass he's known for playing
Or how about the Dark Side of the Moon bass which is black with rosewood fretboard? to be honest I didn't even realise he used a maple necked precision until I looked it up on goole images - he's been using them for years.
6. Now that looks like a very cheap copy. I had to have a really good look to see if there actually a scratchplate there. As others have said its just another Fender Precision - if they'd used a B/W/B scratchplate, vintage tint on the neck, maybe even a cigarette burn mark on the headstock, issue it with a white curly lead then we might be getting somewhere.
7.
As far as I'm aware they don't have a bass player.
They tour with a full band - Dave Grohl played on their newest album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq46OY-FHIc
8. Thunderbird necks are a lot narrower at the heel than Fenders and the like. There's a seller in th US sells Epi parts. Pm me the width and I'll measure my thunderbird if you like
9. If courier cost or distance is an issue, I may be able to meet up with you depending on how far away you live. If you're relatively local and interested then PM me as I will be using this cab live next saturday so you can hear it for yourself.

Hi all

You're never too old to learn the best musical instrument on the planet. Welcome aboard
11. you don;t need 4ohms. I use this as a standalone for big pub gigs with no PA and have my amp relatively low. Its a beast but too much for monitoring at wedding gigs. I need something smaller anyway but having had a Mag 8x10" this setup will be very, very good
12. I've got a 2x15" for sale but ain't light
13. maybe someone who doesn't frequent bass forums and doesn;t have an accurate idea of what its worth? Can;t see it still being around if it is the real deal
14. I'm sure Nathan East used to play one of these before he started on the TRBs
15. Norman Watt Roy was jamming on his Alembic and Trevor Horn hit the Record button and used it for Two Tribes Roger Waters - Mostly played by Dave Gilmour, very good fretless player Alec John Such only appeared for promos and tours, it was Hugh McDonald that appeared on their records but the coudln't get rid of AJS because of some legal thing John Lennon played on a lot of Beatles songs and Paul McCartney played on every solo that features distortion cos George Harrison hates using it, eg Taxman
16. Having had a really, realy, really good look around at what's available and reading reviews on them all, the Mike Lull ones are the best but I could buy another 2 or 3 of these brand new for that price so I'm going to keep it standard and just add some small touches to it as I go.
17.
Although he says "Worth £650 brand new" :-) rather than RRP... And it comes with a hard case, guitar lead, tuner and (count them) three straps.. So maybe would cost £300 new... This is another bit of hopeful listing... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT Cheap cab, vanilla power amp and the wrong Line 6 XT pod pro (damaged as well)... Whoever sold this rig (or recommended it's assembly) should be shot.. Mark
Ah, the old Behringers with the shattering speaker cones. Managed to shatter all 4 of mine. Behringer sent me a brand new one which prompty went on Ebay
18.
Ok so would a 250 watt trace head with a 4x10 cab be load enough for a reasonably sized gig, say 250 people? Any reasons why theyre loade than other makes?
PA or not? Either way it should be enough. They're louder cos they were very conservative when quoting output figures unlike certain brands that quote impossible figures, especially when it comes to speakers
19. how about selling it and getting a Stingray HH or HS?
20.
i had the exact same thought process. The brightbox would be great but weighs about the same as the compact again at least.
I was about to say you were a big jessie but just lifted my one and you're probably right You wouldn't want it - its a proper man's speaker
21. I've decided against getting myself a Gibson, especially since the cheapest I can find a new black T-Bird is £1150, I'm not a fan of neck through basses and I don't like the strap button on the back of the body so I am going to make a couple of subtle changes such as changing the tuners for Gotoh GB7s and trying to find a set of Gibson Thunderbird or Les Paul pickups.
22. I used a trace 4x12" with a Mk V putting out a theoretical maximum 90w and it was very, very loud. Their cabs are beasts as well - the 1528 I am selling is a very loud cab. I have the input of my GK 700RB II at about 11 o'clock and the output at about 7 o'clock, ie just on and no more and its very, very, very loud Did I say they were loud?
