1. Nearly every bass I've owned has been used in my wedding band from my 8 string to my 6 string fretless, Warwick, Modulus Flea, loads of Fenders, Squiers, Bass Collection, Rickenbackers etc. The way I see it, as long as you're happy with the sound on stage and you can be heard clearly with the rest of the band through the PA then go for whatever you like playing. I'm currently using a Squier VM Jazz bass and loving it. My HB 5 string fretless will be along any day so once I get it set up the way I like it, I will be using that as well. If my Aria doesn't sell then I'll have it out next weekend
2. Yeah, try as many as you can - I tried for years to find one that I liked and had almost given up hope of finding anything so just concentrated on fingerstyle until I read an article with Chris Squire of Yes where he mentioned thaat he used Herco heavy guage plectrums. Bought a couple to try and would not use anything else now. My plectrum playing has come on leaps and bounds since then
3. That's the first one I've seen without the green cloth over the metal grill - do you know if it was it made like that? Perhaps like the V-type combos the early ones had the cloth grill and the later ones had the metal grill does look good though These are bonkers loud
4. There's also the Musicman Sillouette Baritone as well
5. How much are you selling for?
6. If the bass was too heavy for her voice, you could always get one in a lighter colour yada da da da da baaaaaaaaarp bap! I thank you you've been a lovely audience
7. I've never seen a 4000 in a better colour than the azureglo ach, maybe my numbers will come up tonight. I used to have a right dog of a 4000 and always hankered after a decent one
8. I've always wanted to try one of these, especially since my skills with a plectrum are improving I'll need to sell my Aria first though before I even think about this one
9.
If i could afford it i would take this off your hands right now, its beautiful...
I could do trades with it for something you have (girlfriends excluded) or you could wash my car for a month + cash
10. It says Rickenbacker on it - that's probably enough for most people. Tom Petersson from Cheap Trick uses, among others, Rick cabinets for part of his sound.
11. check out this thread http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=612616 seems that a MIA one should fit - I say 'should'
12. A shameless plug for my defretted Aria ZZB Deluxe http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT Took it apart yesterday to give it a good clean. and added a shim to the neck pocket so that I could adjust the action at the bridge - with the frets gone, the saddles couldn;t go low enough for reasonable action Cheaper here if anyone wants to make an offer by PM
13. What kind of condition is it in? Have you got any pictures?
14. PM Thornybank - he's your man as he probably has both of these amps as well as everything else Trace ever did
15. For years I've been using a guitar combo purely for the fact that they're not designed to output huge low end which is what annoys the neighbours. You can get a decent tone out of it at home levels. If I never played live then I daresay I'd look for something fancy but my little Meridian 40w guitar combo is perfect for practicing at home.
16. I can be a very violent player - no I don't whack old ladies over the head with my bass and steal their scone money - I have a tendency to whack the strings and stuff and I simply couldn't do that on a guitar I've tried picking up the guitar but cannot get past the fact that they feel so small and sound so screetchy, not to mention those tiny strings. In a band context, my experience is that after keyboard players, a good bass player is almost as hard to find. I could never have become as good as I am by jumping from instrument to instrument. A bass feels like home to me. It feels like the most natural thing in the world as I have now been playing over twice as long as I haven't ( I started when I was 11 and am now 34)

18. perhaps the endorsee deals are with the old company and new ones need to be drawn up under the new company details? If so then this should be temporary unless there's some savings to be made. Bit pants that they are using numbers instead of names. Glad in a way as I have to be frank inthat I don't know who half their endorsees are so it would be bizarre to me to buy a bass with someone's name on it and don't know who they are. It can't be far off time for me to experiment with Lakland, Sadowsky et al as they are the few bass companies that I have never tried their products
19.
It is very nice! Is that your woodshed? I keep my bongo mags in mine.
i didn't know you played another instrument
20. I think this is rig #4 or something like that for this year alone. Gallien Krueger 700RB II, Trace Elliot V-Series 1528 2x15" and 4052H Bright Box Ready to rock Ready to load up I've just emailed Roqsolid to see if they can do a matching cover for the 4052H. The one for the 2x15" is perfect
