I've had 2. Both '54 P basses, both with Jazz width necks The first one had a gold flake finish over a mahogany body, wenge neck, ebony fretboard and gold effect frets. Gold Schaller tuners, Gotoh 201 bridge and SD 1/4" pounder The second one was done to replicate an original '57 single coil precision before the 'new' version was introduced. It had a swamp ash body finished in blonde, maple neck/fretboard finished in vintage tint, Gotoh resolite tuners, gotoh 201 bridge and a Lollar single coil pickup Warmoth stuff is absolutely immaculate when you get it. the attetion to detail is fantastic. I would put a week's wages on the Warmoth coming out top if you did a blind test with the equivelant Fender parts. Their stuff is that good. The only issue is that the necks tend to be quite chunky due to the steel reinforcement bars that run inside. On the plus side, those necks ain't going to move unless you're turning the truss rod I've never had a gecko so can't comment on them. Check out the Unofficial Warmoth Forum - you can get the link from the main Warmoth website. Both my basses are featured in the customer gallery with very poor quality pictures. My gold Warmoth is in Finland or somewhere like that and the '57 is somewhere in Ireland.
Why would a kit to switch in/out a single loop include 4 pots? Oh, I think you mean 4 jack sockets.
FFS, what a clot - that should be 4 jacks maybe its me that's been on the pot There appear to be many ODB-3 pedals on here at the minute so I've taken mine off and fired it on Ebay.

Since finding Talkbs and then Basschat I have gone from owning 5 basses in the first 18 years of my bass playing career to well over 70 now in my24th year of playing. One thing has remained constant - I never got the whole Jazz bass worship thing which is more prevelant in the US forums. i thought they were butt ugly and overrated. Twangy, narrow necked jessie instruments for men with girly bone arms. Why is the control plate a separate piece of metal from the plastic scratchplate? Anyway, a few days ago I thought 'f*** it' and decided to buy a Squier VM Jazz bass based on all the glowing reports I've read. I played a gig tonight with it and so many aspects of my playing came through so much better than ever before. I had a honkier tone than Baron Von Honky of Honkeyville. It was so clear and pronounced. I now understand why Larry Graham plays a Jazz bass (albeit a Moon) Slapping over the neck pickup sounds absolutely amazing. I can slap faster, I'm not getting as tired playing and the sound is just incredible. The pick tone is like a rusty chainsaw cutting through rusty metal I tweaked the truss rod and the rest of the action when I got it and it currently has the lowest action of any bass I've ever owned with the exception of the Modulus Flea bass. £224 delivered from Soundslive. Incredible value. Everything works as it should, everything feels solid and it didn't go out of tune all night. I'm over the moon to have found a bass that doesn't feel too heavy, has a nice neck, sounds fantastic and didn't cost a fortune Finally, I understand why Jazzes are so popular

Sad but we may never see the likes of this again!
Delberthot replied to warwickhunt's topic in Bass Guitars
could have given it a dicht. looks like his child put the strings on with a pair of pliers. looks like there could be a new life form developing on the bridge Sorry but I would have to take it apart and give it a clean - mojo? e-coli more like. -
I bought myself a kit so that I could switch my effects loop in or out, much the same as you would with a Boss Line selector but using a very simple circuit. cable in from the bass and another out to the amp. a send to effects and a return back in again. the footswitch takes the pedals in and out of the loop and it comes with an LED to allow you to see if its on or off on a darkened stage You can even paint it in funky DHA colours when you're finished. Included in this kit is the metal case, 4 1/4" jacks, footswitch, LED and holder. I'll also include some cloth covered wire that I have spare so all you need is to build it, paint it and use it. The parts have never been taken out of their packaging as you can see: £20 delivered to mainland UK addresses only

I'm having a final clearout as I have decided that any basses I buy from now on are going to remain in their original conditions and the only things I am likely to change are the strings and a set of straplocks. All prices include mainland UK delivery and I will be able to offer a discount if buying more than one item. First up is the main event, a Jason Lollar Precision traditional split bass pickup. Bought brand new towards the end of last year, this is amongst some of the best pickups I've used but due to my new rule it ain't going in any future bass of mine. Come with black screws cos the silver ones they came with were rubbish and I stripped the screw tops right off them. [s]£60 delivered[/s] SOLD I have one silver and one black generic fender 5 screw bent metal bridge but don't seem to have the screws for them. £5 each delivered Genuine Fender spiral saddle bridge, never fitted with all 5 screws. WD are charging £18 plus P&P for their own brand version so: [s]£14 including delivery[/s] SOLD Fender 1983 Fender Jazz Bass NOS bridge pickup with cream cover ( I may also have a black one somewhere ) bought brand new from Guitarpartsresource and never fitted with the silver braided cable £30 delivered Musicman Stingray left handed matt black WD guitar parts scratchplate, never fitted cos they sent the wrong one and I'm a righty. The original version with one tab at the top and 2 at the bottom exactly the same as this one: http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/STINGRAY_...BLACK_STGB-5301 £12 delivered Ye goode olde Russian paper-in-oil caps for that genuine snake oil charm. Seriously though, I've been using them in all my basses but I have about 40 of them so I may as well spread the joy. 2 for £4 delivered WD music Fender MIM precision mirror scratchplate from my black precision. £32 plus P&P from WD. £20 delivered 2 Gotoh GB7 tuners both handed the same way, not sure if I have the little screws though. Looks like I've tried to tighten the nut on one of them with a wrench. normally around £12 each. £6 each or both for £11. Gold Hipshot string tree like this one: http://www.bassguitarpartsdirect.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=312 £9.25 plus P&P according to this website so: £5 delivered DPDT switch with black tip, never fitted and still in its little bag £3 delivered That's all the parts I have for sale. I have strap buttons, most with their screws, various knobs and other bits so if you're after something in particular then let me know as I may have it. I am also putting up my Boss ODB3 & Effects Loop kit that I'm never going to get round to putting together in the effects forum.

I hate Jazz basses - don't know if its cos people rave about them all the time and I want to be different but I really don;t like them for some reason, really don't I've just bought a Squier VM Jazz Bass I tend to only have one bass at a time. I don't see the point of owning more than one, I can do everything I want with the bass I have in my hands (apart from the 12 string ones I used to play) so I don;t see why I need more than 1. If I was recording or sitting in with a band that wanted me to play something specifically then I would but i invariably end up sounding like me anyway.

I have sent a lot of stuff recently using Parcelmonkey - they mainly use City Link but they offer their own independant insurance at the cost of £1 per £100 insured - not sure if they offer it unless you take their courier service or not though. Everything has been delivered very quickly and with no problems so far and I've posted a lot of stuff using them.

Funniest things people say when selling their gear
Delberthot replied to ianrunci's topic in General Discussion
I don't suppose you'd sell much if you advertised a bass as having a tree trunk neck, sh*t sound and cost £100 but selling it for £200. I have been known to be guilty of witholding the last one but not on here. or how about an amp that sounds like Barry White's first dump of the day hitting the pan amplified through a tuba at the bottom of the ocean? Clear as mud and easily overpowered by the bell off a bicycle. But that's no way to talk about Ashdown  byee -
don't remember the last time I was on the Rickresource or EBMM forums - wonder if they miss me?

I would define my trace V-type combo as very old school sounding. I replaced it with an Orange Terror bass amp which I found to be a bit darker and a lot dirtier. Just sold the Orange to buy my first ever all valve amp as I can't resist that snake oil any longer. Hmmm snake oil ^_^

I've removed all the unnecessary posts to make it easier to read. I'd much prefer a straight sale but am willing to take a trade on the understanding I will probably sell whatever I get as a trade I'm going to use my 2x15" cab for one gig and this one for another this weekend and may very well either end up keeping both or may change my mind and sell the 2x15" Who knows? I certainly don't

did someone say 4x12"? A monster cab. I am selling mine but its a pity you're so far away or you could've tried it out. 800w @ 8ohms There's more details in the for sale section I notice you live in Brid, we come down to Filey every couple of years but probably won't be down until next year.

MY EYES Somewhere in the tip there is a bare deckchair frame

it depends how much it bothers you about having the right bass I played a black Stingray 5 string in my Sabbath tribute band and a Sonic blue fretless 5 string T-bass in my Rainbow one It depends on how much use you are going to get out of it - you could always buy a cheapy and a set of decent pickups that you could remove if you sell the bass on.

I found the Chrome ones gave me a more aggresive tone

and why do they quote Euros instead of pounds? Also poor English and Western Union specified
