1.
Hey folks, Right, so whats the best way to re-cover a cab? Where can you buy the tolex? Any online guides how to do it? Or, just get someone that knows what they're doing to do it? Cheers Jamie
I;m contemplating the same if I actually manage to keep hold of a cab long enough to do it. There was a place I found where a guy did a full run through of the best way to do it with lots of pics but I'll be damned if I can find it now. I did find this though: http://www.ehow.com/how_4841648_replace-a-tolex.html
2. You should be getting plenty of bass out of those cabs - perhaps you need to buy my 4x12"? You won't need to worry about bass with that. monster tone comes from this monster amp and cab combo
3. I don't think I've ever wanted a bass this much before and I'm OCD when it comes to buying basses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, OCD, OCD, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
4. Sorry if I appear rude but you cannot be serious? There's bass coming out the wazoo on this amp, in fact I have to turn the bass control most of the way down. The problem I have with this amp is that there is too much bass. What cab are you using?
5. I'd be all over this like a cheap suit if I lived closer http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Trace-Elliot-GP7-199...=item335c0f8245
6. That cheap enough for you? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=220572483884
7. National made most of the steel resonator guitars and basses but Dobro are the more familiar name so they ended up all being called Dobros regardless of who made them just like Hoover, Coke etc
8. Thanks but I think I've had enough Stingray's. I draw the line at 13 (I think) lovely as they are to look at.
9.
MB1. ...Surely its a P Nut?...Coat Collected! BUMP!
You're a P Nut or at least some kind of a nut
10. Neck, tuners, bridge and body all provisionally sold
11. Neck and tuners provisionally sold - immaculate MIM Fender body still available. I may sell this fully loaded for the right price / trade - other wise I'm looking for somewhere in the region of £100 including postage to mainland UK
12. Not sure if you've got my PMs or not but I may interested in a trade
13. I may have a buyer for the neck so if anyone is interested in a shiny new black MIM Fender body (minus parts) and a set of vintage tuners then let me know. Once I have a buyer for all 3 then i can split the bass and keep a hold of the other bits unless there's interest there as well
14. Looking like 42mm at the nut
15. If memory serves me correctly its 43mm I'm at work so I'll C when I get home :brow: How can I tell if its a C or something else?
16. I used my 1212L on a cab stand so that it was closer to me and at the right angle. I've used everything on that stand and have only just recently gone back to having my cab behind me after using a stand for the past 15 years Then again, I don't think a 2x15" would fit
17.
I have bought from this guy and I'll have to warn you all.... .....it's a struggle to get him out of bed in the morning! Good seller and I've seen the bass up close and it looks absolutely stunning.
I have a confession to make - when you came round for the Hartke combo I was still very, very drunk from the night before. I'm talking legendary drunkness.
18.
Those FretFX LED's look the business, I was gonna invest in some myself in the future but didn't know how well they actually fixed to a bass and if they stayed where they're meant to, are they good mate? ...and bump for a nice cracking looking bass
They are fantastic and stick on really well. They look the business when they're on.
19. I seem to remember having one on my Modulus Flea bass and i can vaguely recall the same problem with the post stopping short and being a bit wobbly. I can't recall what I did but I'm sure I managed to fix it somehow.
20. I remember when these were £16 from Thomann and that was only a year or 2 ago. I've used both types and personally, the closest I can find is Ernie Ball Slinkies - not the coated ones (haven't tried them) but the standard nickel ones. Think its the Hybrid set I use. There's a seller on Ebay doing 3 sets for £32 delivered. That's what i am using just now - don't feel rich enough to start spending £25 on a set of strings when i can get 3 sets for slightly more
21. I've just had a good long look at it to check for any damage or marks. The body is perfect - no dings dents, scratches or swirls to be found The neck, considering its about 25 years old is in excellent condition as well with just a few tiny marks on the back and a bit of abrasion at the tip of the headstock. The back of the neck nearest the heel has some red paint on it from when a previous owner glued it to its original CAR body. I've never tried to get this off cos its relatively well hidden
