Gallien Krueger MB500 & Barefaced One10 Cab - SOLD
Delberthot replied to Delberthot's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I've had a few enquiries about just the cab or just the amp on their own so I may as well have prices for those as well: £620 gets you the One10 with the optional vintage cloth grill & top hat insert, GK MB500 with power cable, footswitch, high quality speakon cable and Sela cajon bag - this can take a shoulder strap but I've never used it and don't know where it is, I also imagine that it would be uncomfortable to carry as well this way = an extra £45ish worth of extras over the separate prices £320 is the price for the One10 on its own supplied in its original box £300 would be the price for the MB500 with power cable and footswitch, again in its original box These prices are all collected. Postage to UK mainland would be £15 for the whole package, £15 for just the cab and surprisingly £15 for just the amp which I am guessing is due to the size of the box Personally, the whole package makes the most sense if you are changing your entire rig as all you need are your bass & an instrument cable and you're ready to go -
I've always began with the G then down to the D and beyond. I suppose if I thought about it the D then the G usually have the highest tension of all with the E usually the lowest so if the neck is going to move however slightly then it will have done so by the time I get down to the E rather than tune the E and have it go slightly out when I tune the higher strings. It sounds right in my head so must be correct I always restring the G first then the D, A & E as well

Anyone who feels like they're about to lose their stinky poo when someone types "could of" or begins a sentence or thread title with "So" - just let it wash over you. It will soon pass and you can work on getting annoyed at something else -

similarly - you're all a bunch of nasty pasties 😀 And what in the name of Jesus H Corbett is a nasty pasty? 🙂 -
I have been using a BDI21 but decided that I'd like something with a bit more control so I've just bought myself an MXR M81

I remember when Bassist had transcribed "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down". That absolutely blew my mind when I learned how to play that. The whole song is great but it's all about that ending. It's slightly different and longer on the live versions on Youtube

I've been here nearly 12 years and in that time I have blocked 4 members - 2 of which don't frequent the forum anymore. Considering that there are thousands of members, that's pretty good going. I've been on the receiving end of trolls and do-gooders and they can go and do one AFAIC. I used to allow myself to get annoyed when someone said something designed to gain a reaction to start an argument or do-gooders who think that they are protecting the streets of bass land but now I figuratively walk away. The reasons being that I am sure the vast majority of us are decent people, things can be read differently to the poster's intended meaning and I'm sure that some of these people wouldn't say these things if face to face. I like it here. Overall it's a good place to be and I won't let a small minority of argument starters spoil it -
Although I say so myself this would be a perfect ready to gig mini rig for you

So it's a choice of grindy and aggressive or fat wooly fingerstyle then? That's where I've been going wrong. Being a fingers player it must sound like complete mush. 🤔 Personally I favour aggressive punchy fingerstyle. I actually find it very comfortable to play and can play anything on this that I can play on my Sterling and never thought about it as a specialist instrument.

I wasn't familiar with many of the bands on that list, let alone the players, but the obvious omission for me was Gail Ann Dorsey

I had one of those and the way it sat on a strap the first 2 frets may as well have been in the next room such was the reach required to get to them

After deciding to go down the FRFR route and being happy with the outcome it's now time to sell my flawless, dinky combo. The cab is 8ohms and 250w. That even surprised me to be honest as I have been using it with a Gallien Krueger MB500 and it can go incredibly loud for its size. These replaced a Fender Rumble 500 combo to give you an idea of what I was looking for when I bought them. I've had the cab since August 2016 and specified the optional top hat mount so that this can be mounted onto any speaker stand with a 38mm pole. I initially used it with an MB200 but didn't that amp had enough oomph so went for the more powerful MB500 and I think I bought this around October 2016. It has been stored since the day I bought it in a cajon bag to protect it as anyone who knows me knows that I hate my to gear scruffy and damaged. It has picked up a couple of marks on the tolex but it's in very good condition and has never let me down. If you look at of couple of the pics further down it looks like the pictures are sideways but they are actually demonstrating the ultra high bond tape that I have used to attach it to the cab. The beauty of this setup is that the combined weight of cab and amp is less than 10kg so it's an easy one handed lift and part of the reason I bought it. This in one hand, bass in the other and bag over your shoulder for cables etc. I would initially like to sell both of them together and will include the cajon bag and short speakon cable as well as the footswitch for the MB500 which I haven't taken out of the box and of course the power cable. Delivery to UK mainland will be around the £15 mark + insurance

the lower horn looks like a wang I doubt that you'd have been able to pay a deposit to a national/regional distributor - I would think that you'd have to wait until the distributor finds out if they are getting them or not, then contacts all of the UK dealers with the info if they are and choose your dealer to pay the deposit

Used mine last night and I absolutely love it. In fact, the whole band commented on how much they enjoyed it. I've had my GK/BF set up so that it is for me to hear meaning that the rest of the band have had to have a monitor mix with my bass in it whereas the sound from this carries across the stage but isn't too loud. Possibly the first time that I have set my volume at the start of a gig and hadn't touched it during the night. Need to check my subscription but the GK/BF rig will be up for sale alter on today

I use it on several songs and often change during the song. On Get lucky I have the E string set to D for the verse then flick it down to B for the chorus and back up to D again, We do the live version of Crazy in Love and I drop it do D when it goes into the Gnarls Barklay song Crazy then back up again. As long as you spend time adjusting it correctly when you fit it and tune it the way Hipshot tell you to tune it then they are very easy to use and a great alternative if you don't really need a 5 string bass

Could the BB2024/5 have been created as something of an ultimate, almost out of reach bass to sell more BB1024/5 models? Create an ultimate bass, give or sell at heavily discounted rate to endorsed players to create an awareness and have on your website, Youtube etc and sell a few to paying customers. In the grand scheme of things the BB2024/5 basses weren't expensive as such but were compared to the next level down. I couldn't see enough of a difference between the models to bring myself to make the jump as I was very happy with my BB1025. I had bought that one on the strength of the BB425 which I also owned. Alternatively I could be talking complete sloblock 🤔

I recognise the pickup configuration on that one as I am sure that it was Cetera who was selling an ESP maybe a year or so ago but not exactly this shape. It looks like when it was at the first drawing stage the designer fell asleep with the pencil in his hand when he got to the upper bout et voila, whatever the hell that's meant to be

I'll say either £50 or £2000. The maker might have gone for the "cheap shite" look

If you add it to your basket it will let you know if it's in the UK or coming from Sweden or darkest Peru or wherever A Berhringer BLE400 pedal that I had been looking for was a bargain at £18 with postage at a not so bargain £14.50 😳

I love Precisions. They are to me the best looking basses in the world. Some of my favourite bass sounds from some of my favourite bands have been made using them by Queen & Pink Floyd mainly but loads of others. The problem is that they just don't suit my style of playing or sound. I got very close with my Warmoth '54 single coil Precision with Lollar pickup but it just wasn't quite there which is a shame. Luckily I'm not a pro or session player so I am free to roam the vast array of other basses available 😀

I'm just back for the rehearsal room where I've been able to mess around with the settings and get a feel for this. Short answer is that it is absolutely incredible. It's so loud and pokey I can't imagine needing anything more than this. The first thing I did was to print off the GK 700RB manual and set the frequency centres to the same levels on this as I was finding it too toppy and that immediately made a huge difference. I didn't touch the Q setting as I need to read a bit more about what that does first. The lowest EQ setting I took down to -5dB and EQ2 to -2dB. If this was used as an out front bass amp then I would have those values higher but I want to avoid rumble on the stage and excessive noise in general Now I have those settings I can make small adjustments on the BDI21 to suit the room If it works out at the gig on NYE then expect my MB500 and One10 to be up for sale on new years morning 😛
