It would depend what it was packed in - small or large hard case, gig bag with loads of packing or wrapped in a bin bag. And yes I've received a bass "packed " in the latter It could be somewhere between 125x16x40cm to 140x30x60cm At that size it usually goes by volumetric weight rather than actual weight so I usually say around 9kg just in case they actually weigh it

Utter pish - I play what I want because I enjoy it and don't feel sad in the slightest. I've enjoyed playing a lot of good music over the past 31 years - other people's music. So to reiterate; utter pish

SOLD Gallien Krueger GK MB500 head

I bought my first Musicman Stingray in 1999 - it was a 5 string and the reason I got it was I had the money, was heavily into the Chili Peppers and saw Flea use one to record Funky Monks. I also had the matching Gallien Krueger 800RB amp Sold it after 7 years and went through a revolving door of basses including about 10+ stingrays but never found what I wanted until a couple of years ago when I had a shoulder injury. My SR5 at the time was too heavy for long gigs so I decided to get a US EBMM Sterling and that ended my search for the perfect bass. A few basses have come and gone in that time but the Sterling remains and I can't see me ever parting with it. Great sound, the smaller body & narrower neck suits me plus it has the Stingray sound I always wanted despite not being a Stingray. The build quality is excellent- - there are no good years or bad years, they're generally consistently good from one year to the next.

I have for sale a Hipshot BT-2 that was on my Jazz bass for about 2 weeks and is in perfect condition. I also have an HE6-C 1/2" for sale that never even made it onto a bass. I only took it out of the package to look at it. They come with all of the screws, bushing and allen keys Finally, I have a Hipshot double stop lever for sale. This allows you to flip down to two different tunings. I use one of these on my Sterling to allow me to change from E down to D and B. I am looking for £55 posted for the BT-2, £60 posted for the HE6-C and £15 posted for the double stop lever. If you take one of the detuners and the double stop then I will be able to do a deal on both.

Dave Ellefson and Jackson with a 10 string bass
Delberthot replied to Cuzzie's topic in Bass Guitars
Dean did one a few years ago. I want to say that it was the Hammer bass (maybe a play on words with Hamer?) I don't think they lasted very long. John Paul Jones has a 12 string dual course bass and it sounds incredible -

If I didn't already have one or could justify having a second then I'd love one of these. I had a blue Schroeder 1212L and a green tolex V-type combo.

I've been using D'addario EXL nickels for a few years now since moving from D'addario Chrome flats and wouldn't touch anything else now. For me they have the perfect balance of being pretty smooth and cut through really well. I play with quite an aggressive sound but don't use any overdrive. I have my bass set up so that when playing softly there is no fret rattle but when I dig in I get as much as I need depending on how hard or soft I play. I change my strings every 3-4 months

I had the Nexus 1x15" and 4x10" cabs and absolutely loved them. They were very capable cabs but I just wanted and needed something smaller and lighter or I would still have them

I originally bought these for the '75 reissue jazz bass that I am selling but found myself a pair of Geddy Lee pickups instead. Both pickups are in new, unused condition. The '75 reissue pickup is still in its sealed bag. I am looking for £50 each or £90 for the pair of them. Postage will be £5 for one or both

I've owned many of these. Like fretless basses I lust after them only to be disappointed. They're great pedals but I'm not really a pedal person. Made in Taiwan and in excellent condition. The label underneath has started peeling off, other than that it's all good. I don't have the original box but it will be boxed for postage. Looking for £100 or best offer and postage will be £6

Used very briefly in conjunction with the 75 reissue Jazz bass I am selling. This less than 1 month old Sansamp BDDI v2 with the mid control is now surplus to requirements. In as new condition with original unmarked tin, sticker & user guide thingy - Looking for £180 or best offer. Postage will be £6

I've decided that I'm a Musicman Sterling player and nothing else is going to do so I have a bunch of stuff I am going to be selling, starting with this '75 reissue Jazz Bass The eagle-eyed amongst will notice the B serial number which would place it at around 1986 but this is a typical Fender Japan anomaly. The bass was actually made in March 1999 as you can see from the neck and body stamps. It's a 1975 reissue so has the period correct 3 bolt neck plate, bullet truss rod at the headstock end and all maple block & bound neck. It also has the grounding plates underneath both pickups and in the control cavity. The scratchplate has factory drilled holes for the neck pickup cover and finger rest but the body itself has not been drilled. When I first got the bass, the pickups were faulty so I began searching for suitable replacements. I was fortunate enough to find a set of genuine Fender Geddy Lee Jazz bass pickups. One of the pots was a bit scratchy as well so I bought a replacement harness made with USA CTS pots, switchcraft jack and a paper in oil cap. This harness has small connector blocks that eliminate the need to solder anything making changing the pickups a breeze. Everything has been thoroughly cleaned so with the exception of the small dings that you'd expect with a 19 year old bass, it is in very clean condition. By this point you will be wondering about the sound - well I have been using this with a Sansamp Bass Driver DI v2 which I am also selling and it's classic Geddy Lee clank and growl. It does, of course, make the usual jazz bass noises plus growl (did I mention the growl?) It's currently fitted with D'addario EXL nickel wound strings and will come in a hard case to protect it during shipping. It's not the best fit but it will do the job. Looking for £850 or best offer. Postage will be £35 and I am happy for the buyer to collect or to meet up somewhere. I am having a clear out so not looking for any trades at present

After years of having cabs pointing at the back of my legs or overkill dual 4x10" setups to get the volume near ear level and hating my sound, not getting enough top end and being too loud on stage, despite not actually being able to hear myself clearly I went for the cab on a stick approach I have a Gallien Krueger amp as experience has told me that I always go back to them as it gives me the sound I want. The barefaced One10 is purely because it's loud, light and has a top hat mount to put it on a speaker stand. Overall I love the sound. I can be as loud as I need to be on stage, I can hear myself clearly, the bottom end rumble isn't overpowering everything and it all fits in a cajon bag

Jacob Collier Changing the rules of Music!!!
Delberthot replied to KingPrawn's topic in General Discussion
More or less what I thought - the bass was all over the place in terms of timing, note length and randomness - reminded me of one of those "shreds" videos. Maybe I'm not sophisticated enough for this type of music 🤔 -
This was exactly the reason that I sold my one. You have to have it so loud to get the GK growl that it's too loud - the 700RB was easy to get the growl from

Nickel-Like Steels or Steel-Like Nickels??
Delberthot replied to thisisswanbon's topic in Accessories and Misc
D'addario EXLs are the smoothest roundwound string that I've found - are you currently looking for 40-95 or is that what you are using? -
Music conservatory at ... 53 years old.

I thought that this thread was going to be about setting up a music room in a conservatory. Still none the wiser 🤔 -
I've got a brand new combine harvester and was going to give Mark King the keys but I could be open to offers of 10 times what I paid for it. I've also got a lovely bunch of coconuts that I picked personally for Mark - don't know if he likes coconuts but I got them anyway - £100 each or £500 for the bunch
