Bass EQ PEdals - How do you personally use yours?
Delberthot replied to AinsleyWalker's topic in Effects
I normally play fingerstyle but when I had one of these pedals I used it to adjust the sound when switching to using a plectrum. Saved faffing around with the controls on the bass or the amp -
I'd like to sell but not desparate to. My biggest problem is that as soon as I get something new the old one must go and go fast I played this at a wedding fair today and I've decided that I'm definitely not going to keep it, regardless of what I might say between now and the actual sale. Fantastic bass, just not for me anymore but I'm glad I bought it and have enjoyed playing it very much.

My 2p, yes, go for it! After last night's gig I'm now thinking trades of something 4 string - fretted or fretless It needs to be something relatively light - Yamaha RBX-A2, Bass Collection, Ibanez - I wouldn't say no to a straight swap for a US EBMM Sterling Alternatively, these are just things that I would like as trades but don't really need - cash is king so feel free to PM me a sensible offer.

This has been one of the best threads I've read in a long time
I've had my Brooklyn Gear strap for about 10 years and it's been great but I'm finding it a bit less cushiony than it used to be. Wonder if the neoprene eventually compresses over time so it offers less protection? So I've just ordered a Neotech one
Just back from the first gig with the Neotech strap and I have to say it's fantastic. Dead comfy and absolutely no shoulder pain whatsoever

Definitely depends on what you're looking for. I just bought a twin pack of D'addario EXL-165s for £24.89 from Amazon but normally I would go to Strings Direct and occasionally Stringbusters as well

Way Down ... disappointment of the year
Delberthot replied to Happy Jack's topic in General Discussion
On the up side I've just bought Steven Adler's book after reading through this thread to take on holiday along with Anthony Keidis' Scar Tissue and Lemmy's White Line Fever. I've read the other two previously but Adler's one is new to me -

I know what you mean. I want to sell it but I'm not going to give it away. I could've sent a counter offer but I didn't think that, considering their first offer, they'd go anywhere near what I want for it so I just declined it. I'm going to keep this thread active until I go on holiday in a few weeks then withdraw it if it hasn't sold or been traded. I'm sure there will be a time in the near future that I wished I'd held onto it. I've just realised that I have a set of Elixir strings that I put on this bass for 1 night then took them off as I found them too rough so I'll include these with the bass as well as the D'addarios that are on it. I cut them to go through the body so there's plenty of length on them if that's how you'd like to string them Another couple of stock pictures added:

I've just bought myself an acoustic bass so that's me sorted for one of those now. I'd still be up for a trade for a lightweight 4 string solid body bass but it must be active. Maybe something from the Sterling by MM or Sub ranges or one of the Squier deluxe active models but I am open to other ideas. Any trade will need to be with cash my way or straight swap. Alternatively, feel free to PM me a reasonable offer

It seems to be the old favourites and anything that's flavour of the month that seems to sell quickly- not always of course. I hadn't heard of Mayones until a couple of months ago and had the chance to try one in Guitar Guitar in Edinburgh and they seem to be very well made.
Honest to god , this is a rediculas bargain, people I can't tell you how good these basses are..... Playability is fantastic, sound is better than a stingray in my op..... Nice short feel but with same scale length, like a ray on roids with a jazz neck ! Put flats on it and I guarantee it be one of the slickest bass out there. I have many basses, all off which where cased never to see the light of day again the day I got my sterling. If I didn't have one already I'd snatch your hand off for this at this price. Do not confuse this with the "sterling by musician" .... A million miles apart. Good luck with the sale buddy.
Totally agree with this I bought mine because I loved the Stingray 5 ceramic pickup sound but not the weight of it and no longer needed the B so bought one of these. Nice small body, slim neck and the amazing sound from the ceramic pickup I had Chromes on my SR5 and it was pretty amazing. I've had about a dozen Stingrays and they always disappointed me but the sound I knew I wanted was in the ceramic pickup of these babies. This is a mad crazy price. If I had the money I'd buy it myself to have a matching pair -
I completely agree, this is a crazy price for this bass. That is why I've set the minimum amount I am willing to accept. I'd also be up for a meet up somewhere if you are too far from me and don't want it couriered for the cost of my fuel which is pretty reasonable - my current car is getting about 50mpg. I'm willing to drive an hour in any direction so that would be probably Dundee heading north to Abington services heading south on the A74

I agree. Some fantastic theme tunes from Mr H

I'm having a real conflict here - I really don't need this bass but it's still a great bass so in another trademark change of heart, I've reduced the price to £525 posted within mainland UK but this is as low as I can go. I may be interested in trades for other 4 string basses so please PM me before I change my mind again Trades would have to be with cash my way as I'm going on holiday in a few weeks time. All spare cash is being turned into Euros at the moment Check out this clip with a direct comparison between the BB1025 & BB2025. I can't really tell much of a difference despite the huge difference in price

Tribute bands - is this normal?
Delberthot replied to Beer of the Bass's topic in General Discussion
That Bon Jovi one rings a bell. Is it the acoustic one? That guy has been advertising every few days on a FB group I'm a member of for quite some time. I admire his perseverance, but I don't think there are enough musicians in Edinburgh to fulfill his needs. I did see a Hendrix tribute advertised on Gumtree. They were looking for guitars (!), bass, drums and vocalist. Like your Nickelback case, who was doing the asking?! Some tribute bands, like Australian Pink Floyd, use more musicians than the original band to recreate the studio sound a bit better. I quite like Pink Floyd myself, so if I wanted to make the Edinburgh Pink Floyd Tribute would be looking for a guitarist, keyboard player and drummer, which would probably look a little odd on an advert! Add a second guitarist, sax player, vocalist and three backing singers for good measure.
And a percussionist -
That's alright then, I'll calm myself down! (*Mumbles to himself*... "still don't know why Sara Lee wasn't mentioned... bloody lists for this and that and the other etc etc and no Sara Lee...")
Maybe because of her horrendous chocolate gateauxs?
