Yamaha BB425 Vintage White - SOLD ON EBAY

Unfortunately the Proclaimers aren't one hit wonders. There's a whole raft of novelty songs out there that they did including Sunshine on Leith, Let's Get Married and too many more to mention Survivor - Eye of the Tiger Boston - More Than A Feeling Kansas - Carry on Wayward Son http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6bQ4EAduBg

Yamaha BB425 Vintage White - SOLD ON EBAY
Delberthot replied to Delberthot's topic in Basses For Sale
As I mentioned before, this took the place of my Fender FSR which was at one time "the one" before I sold that and bought the BB1025 just because I had the money and wanted to find out how much better it was to this. Truth is that they're both great basses and I'd happily gig either one of them. IMO there's nothing in this price bracket to equal the quality of these. -
I used to have an Ibanez SR3005E (2 pup Bartolini custom) that I got through BC and that had an awesome live sound but I had to make sure I had the EQ set the way I wanted it. With the Bongo I can just plug in and play and it tanks through. Playing finger style with the EQ turned up can turn it into a percussion instrument if I'm not careful.
I think that the difference is that it's really difficult to get a bad sound with the MM preamp. I used to struggle with my Ibanez SR1016 and eventually sold it because I was constantly fiddling with it to try to get it to sound right to my ears

What do you do when you've found The One?
Delberthot replied to Skinnyman's topic in General Discussion
I think that we'd be lucky if there are a handful of forum members who actually have found the one and will still have it in a year or maybe even less. There have been threads in the past that many members including yours truly have posted in stating that we've found "the one". If you can find the threads I can almost guarantee that most of them are sold. For me it's just a tool, plus I like shiny, I want to like certain basses so may have had 10 of them over the past 28 years just to be sure, I've bought some because my favourite player at the time has used one, it looks nice, and so on. I've had 9 4-string Stingrays and am on SR5 number 5 for example. I will never find the one and the closer I think I get, the more I don't actually know what I want and what I have is good enough for what I want it to be able to do. -
Is it the EQ or the pickup configuration that you you think contributes most to the sound you like? I don't like vast EQs either as the tendency is to keep fiddling and never being happy but there are loads of basses with this pickup configuration including Stingrays - G&L, $$ Warwicks etc are the first two that spring to mind that I have owned

When I first started listening to it I thought that it sounded like Stanley Clarke then noticed that it was. I'm not a fan of Marcus and his style at all. I really, really wanted to like him as he always looks cool but does nothing for me.

I use ER20s as they reduce the high frequencies more. I have aspergers so am more sensitive to higher frequencies. The proper ones that reduce the levels across the board don't help me as it's the high frequencies that cause me the most discomfort. I don't play with a loud drummer and play with a great guitarist who knows what volume to play so these are perfect

Looking at the picture I would've said that the jack on the right of the tuner was the input so it looks the wrong way around to me as well
Looks like the bass is plugged into the output of the pedal...swap the leads around maybe?
I was about to say: are the cables in the right way round? As in the bass goes to the input of the first pedal, then the output of that pedal goes to the input for the next one and so on

When I saw the title I was going to suggest switching them off

Unless you specifically want shiny and new then personally I'd have this instead. I've had loads of these cabs over the years and they can take a serious amount of power

I have for sale the bridge that originally came with my Fender Precision FSR Deluxe Special. It is in immaculate condition and comes with the original 5 screws. It's an original Fender part and more substantial than the usual BBOT one. I am looking for offers around £50 including UK mainland postage. In the event that I've got the pricing way off as I wasn't sure what price to put on it, please feel to make me an offer. I have 2 scratchplates for sale: The first one was bought for my Stingray 30th Anniversary as I wanted to keep the original one perfect. I ended up selling the bass as I was so afraid of damaging it. It's a WD Music one in solid black in almost perfect condition barring a small mark on the lower part. Remember, check your pickup to make sure that it's the same shape as the cutout on this one I'm looking for £22 delivered to mainland UK The second one came off my Fender FSR Precision Deluxe Special so it's an original Fender one. It's black/white/black and has a few marks on it but none of them are very noticable once it's fitted etc. There are marks around the holes where the washers would be for some reason. There is also the tiniest of cracks that I had to search for to find near the bottom between the edge and one of the screw holes but it's really tiny and could easily be glued. When it's in situ it's solid and not noticable. I'm looking for around £28 delivered within mainland UK for this one. This is the last of the pedals I own and have been meaning to sell it for a while now so here it is: It's a Boss OC-3. Excellent condition apart from what appears to be a small nick on the bottom of the back that I only noticed when I went to take pictures. Competely original with no velcro or anything stuck to it. No box but will be securely packed for shipping. I am looking for around £70 posted within mainland UK for this. 3 for me: Modulus Flea bass - lusted after one for years but found it a bit meh in both playability and sound Musicman Stingray - I've had about 10 of the things but can't get a sound I like - and before anyone says anything it's a 2002 SR5 I currently have so it's more like a Sterling than a proper ray as it has the same ceramic pickup and electronics as the Sterling Fender Jazz - Always wanted to like these as almost anyone famous I've heard using one gets a great sound but they sound a bit weak compared to other basses whenever I've used one. The only exception being an 80s Fernandes fretless I owned but that had EMGs

It's been while playing functions and weddings that I realised that a lot of songs that I can't bear to listen to are really good fun to play. Two examples would be Crazy in Love by Beyonce and Uptown Funk. Can't stand listening to them but they're really enjoyable to play and always get people up on the dance floor. Took me a while to get into Le Freak which should've been an obvious one to enjoy playing but it did take some time. Still can't stand Sex on Fire though. It was terrible the first time I heard it and hasn't got any better after playing it a gajillion times. Ditto for Valerie, although I was fortunate enough to dep with a band that did the original Zutons version and really enjoyed playing it.
