  1. Nice! Blue basses are officially better and their owners 134% cooler than other bass players. I don’t make the rules!
  2. Pickups might be adjusted incorrectly - a possibility. If you can find anyone with a bass amp to plug it into you can test that theory - any music shops nearby? i would second letting us know where you are I am sure someone local would be able to help you.
  3. I’m a novice player and I really liked it, the EQ seemed useful and the other adjustments seemed to be able to make the sound into whatever you needed. Very nicely made. I have a small combo at the moment and want to get a proper rig and this seems like a good option but they do seem to go for a decent price. Kinda thinking of running one into a modern lightweight 2x10 cab for a start but it depends what I can afford!! (very little at the moment!)
  4. Damn I’m in Huddersfield - don’t tempt me! It’s way more than I need tbh.
  5. I played in a rehearsal room last week and it had a 450w version of that amp running into a 4x10 and a 1x15, holy crap it was brutally powerful, couldn’t turn it up more than 1 out of 10 and it sounded fantastic. I’m now looking for one second hand!
  6. im not normally a fan of covers from that sort of era but I’d come and watch you - love it when people make the effort to play some music which isn’t the usual lazy dj mix.
  7. I spent 12 years working in retail when cash was about 60% of our takings. I worked in big places that took tens of thousands a day. In that whole time I came across 2 counterfeit notes, one of which we rejected as payment and 1 which we found cashing up. Honestly, counterfeit money isn’t as common as you think, and if it feels and looks real it probably will be. If you are still unsure insist on paying it into the bank before handing goods over, once the cashier has accepted it then it’ll never come back to you even in the unlikely event of it being dodgy.
  8. That’s exactly what I’d be playing! Sounds like it would be a great upgrade for me, thanks. Maybe if the buyer of the bass would prefer the original pickups you might sell the SDs? If not thanks for the advice anyway, really appreciate it.
  9. Sorry to hijack this thread (bass is gorgeous BTW I have a similar one!) - but how did you find the SD pickups changed the sound? I was thinking of a similar upgrade.
  10. If someone says to me they have a problem with their PayPal account I halt the sale and block them. There is no reason to have a “problem” that isn’t self made and all genuine issues can be sorted in minutes as PayPal are very helpful. Been using PayPal for over a decade I think for personal and commercial reasons and if you follow their guides you will never go wrong. PayPal goods and services and I pay the fees for any private sales I do without having the item in my hands.
  11. I could fix this and know a young lad who could really benefit from it but you are just too far away!!!
  12. I’d be interested in this if the price was a little lower - I would be taking a chance it actually can be fixed.
  13. Just a load of old bids on here. 😂
  14. Love your videos and I see you can play all sorts of styles with a unique sound and really enjoy it. Real inspiration for me.
  15. That sea foam green jazz is lovely.
  16. I bought the smaller one from Jim and it’s in perfect condition. After looking at a few pedalboards I think these are the most well made and much better than the pedal train models as long as you don’t mind Velcro (small dig at Jim there 😂) You wont be disappointed.
  17. There is no universe in where I would listen to, let alone enjoy, a Coldplay song without the benefit of several torture devices.
  18. I don’t normally like relic stuff but that is really special - much better than the fender relic stuff IMHO.
  19. I find female fronted bands - cover bands in particular - work better when they don’t try and copy the original style slavishly. Make it your own style and it can fit the vocalist better and you’re not slaves to every detail the original song had. There’s a covers band on YouTube called First To Eleven and I am addicted to their cover of Sum41s Fat lip and they’ve done loads of other great covers.
  20. I don’t know who that is you are referring to but those sort of guys are amazing. You wouldn’t give them a second glance in the street or even at a gig until they start laying down a groove which makes your hair stand on end. SBL - I am so sick of channels like this where it’s all fancy noodling and precious little musicality. Especially when they test gear and it’s all crazy slap or noodly stuff at the top of the fretboard. I’ve recently found a good channel which isn’t massively popular but he plays all sorts of real nice music and is clearly accomplished at all sorts of genres - I will try to find a link. EDIT Here it is. https://youtube.com/@deadbeatstudios
  21. Well he always has them out on hire and is always looking for more to add to stock. I doubt the price to hire/deliver/pick them up will be paid by people just wanting them as stage candy. I was going to go and have a play through a few he has this week but they are all out on hire. Maybe people still use them on anger but the convenience of having someone deliver them and maintain them for them is attractive. I read that post about bargain basement amps but I’ve not come across anyone selling stuff at bargain prices. I’ll ask my friend who is using them, maybe it will enlighten us all. He is a pro sound engineer so will know if they are being used as they were designed.
  22. Love machine is a GREAT song, I love punk and New York hardcore but that song get me singing every time. When pop is done well it’s unbeatable.
  23. That makes complete sense. love the caveat “not intentionally” 😂😂
