Wow,just had first gig with the Six10. punchy, clear, loud. I had my GK legacy 800 head volume at about 9 o’clock and was asked to turn down 😬😂. Turned it down to 8:45 😁. yeah I think I’m gonna just keep an eye out for Two10 for home playing and rehearsals.

I personally prefer the feel of flats especially with picking hand
-
Both p-basses. one American one Mexican

So I had a band practice last nice and started with the flats. I had to adjust the amp and boosted some mids and treble. I was feeling it but after 3 songs they all said now play your other bass. They all agreed that rounds work better in our band as the growl and zing from the rounds filled up more space as we are a 1 guitar band for 80% of each gig. I tried to sneak the flatwound bass in again near the end for (Wayward son) and they all said again “play the other bass) ao guess for now I’ll stay with roundwounds. Ill try them with the Wedding band next week though but for the rock band it’s roundwounds

Might order a set of Cobalts then so I can use with both bands

Tone all the way off sounds odd to me on my Basses. Like when you talk with your hands over your mouth, muffled sort of

I don’t mind higher tension strings as long as they’re not like the La Bella 760M I tried.

All interesting views. Im just worried about being too different than normal with the flat sound. I’ll take both basses and start of with rounds and then 2nd set change to bass with flats and see. I just know at home I’m really liking the feel and sound of the flats

I have always played roundwounds. Rotosound swing 66 D’addario XL Ernie Ball super slinky I borrowed a bass that had some flats once but wasn’t the sound I wanted. I just bought a new (to me) bass that came with some flats on (Chromes) I’m digging the sound, thumpy and well -bassy. Complete contrast to cutting through in a 3 piece with rounds. Got a gig Saturday and want to try these out,the band plays classic rock and some modern covers but unsure if I should just wing it and see what happens or stick with the rounds that I know. Really enjoying it playing at home though. Worried about less sustain and less high end changing the bands sound too much but also I think it may be for the better. Do you guys use flats for rock?

Plus on an outside gig if I’m feeling it I could add the two10 to the Six10 I think if it’s in 12ohm mode. I couldn’t add the One10

Many thanks guys. After reading the comments and mulling it over I think I’ll wait around for a used Two10 then I think if it was just for home or lower volume practice it would work and maybe to some extent work as a stage monitor but I think a Two10 would cover more and be a better monitor if nothing else. I haven’t gigged the Six10 yet (have a gig Saturday though) I traded my Big Twin 2 for the Six10 with Ander87. Great friendly guy btw.

That’s kind of what I wanted to hear thanks. the One10 would be just the ticket for home playing. If one10 isn’t enough for my needs then I don’t think I’d get a 2nd and instead I’d sell and get a Two10 as it’d be cheaper and less things to carry (or am I missing something about having 2xone10’s?)

I just came from a Big Twin 2 to the Six10. think for Motown 10” with their added colour are better but I guess if I lower treble etc it would work. im liking the cloth grill ones though for classic look

P-bass,Fairfield barbershop,GK legacy 800 head.

So i’m in two bands. 1 is a loud classic rock band and I’ll use the Six10 I have for that. The other is a Motown, disco, dance wedding band that I was thinking I could just put a Shure beta 52a mic on a small cab (one10) and to all in the PA basically. or just use the Six10 for both bands I’m unsure as the one10 on a stand plus mic stand is going to take up the same about it stage space anyway
-
So I missed out on the Two10 on here as didn’t have the funds at the time but I’ve got the opportunity to get a One10. I’ll be using it for home playing, odd rehearsal and maybe as a stage monitor (only bass in it) if I can go through the PA. obviously Two10 will better and louder but can someone convince me I don’t need the Two10 and should go for this one10.
