  1. Well it might of been “tired ears syndrome” from last nights rehearsals Just played it and I think the 210 cab has plenty of low end it’s just getting the right EQ to match the bass, pick playing and band sound. Dilemma over for now I think !
  2. Yep they are sealed cabs I did wonder if the Compact Ported would give better low end ommph
  3. I might ?? Be letting my ABM210H EVO IV Pro Neo cabs go ?
  4. I’ve decided to look at some 115 cabs but not the smaller ones ideally rated to 400w RMS 8 ohms I have the two ABM210H EVO IV Pro Neo cabs which are still fairly new with covers but I’m looking for something different I recall Ashdown did the older ABM Klyston Neo 115 cab ( ported ) rated 400w and about 29” tall That’s the kind of cab I’m considering and adding a second 115 Just need a bit more low end I feel to fill out the rock trio band ( PBass with Pick ) Thoughts ? Other suggestions? This is without PA support Also I will need them fairly quickly!!
  5. Yep I agree they are a fine amp I’m still finding new sounds with mine and they all sound good
  6. Have you noticed fret wear using Prosteels ??
  7. I think mine is 2.5mm to 3mm approx at 17th fret on low E string and 2.5mm on G string I play mine tuned to Eb standard
  8. Just checked online and they sure are pricey ! May try a set of Elixir Nickel as my next set and see how much longer they appear to last
  9. I tried Elixirs some years back and found the coating started to wear and I still lost the zingy tone after about two months tops ! Any recommendations for Elixir for 40-105 long scale Roundwounds running in Eb tuning ?
  10. Just put a set of Dunlop Super Bright nickel roundwounds on my PBass and it’s funny how you forget that great zingy tone that slowly dies off after playing. Also trying Prosteels ( stainless) on my Yamaha to see how they last or eat frets. Both now very zingy and clear bottom end when played fingers. No need for pick to get that clarity now If only you could have this consistent tone from a set of strings more than a few weeks !
  11. My RM800 is totally silent when fan running. My old ABM600 had a louder fan for sure

    Mute would be perfect 👍

Good to hear it mutes when using the tuner 👍

I’ve got one coming so hoping to get a decent tuner, compressor and perhaps a little drive push when needed, Watching the demos it seems to be a lot more powerful than I thought and didn’t realise you can step through saved patches by saving them as A, B, C etc etc How do you activate the tuner function ?
  15. A few have recently mentioned this effects pedal What is the Tuner like ? Is is chromatic ? Easy to see on Stage ? Also I believe it’s possible to use a USB midi foot controller with it to make it into a multi footswitch unit ? Finally does it colour your tone at all ?
  16. Funny thing is I have the dual footswitch and with a mild drive setting I can’t hear when it’s on or off. Why Ashdown didn’t put an LED on the footswitch !! Yep I’m preferring not using the compressor or the drive / not the sub but the great tone it has without.
  17. Nothing Bass straight in
  18. Anyone discovered the RM amps compressor tends to blanket the tone slightly ? Turned mine off and noticeable improvement in clarity
  19. Some good points raised For me having a good bass tone from my amp / bass is my main objective and anything else is an extra Decided to stop using the onboard compressor on my RM800 head and the difference in sound clarity was noticeable! So that’s one less effect I’m using ! I do think it would be mostly an expensive tuner for me and send me on an endless chase of tone nirvana ! Bass, fingers, lead, amp, cab, seems to work for me and my band needs
  20. Yep I think it’s the U.K. As mentioned even returning to U.K. stores if goods not wanted means customer pays. Ive looked to see if any takers on eBay for the Airborne Pro but no takers I will see cost to return assuming they will as protective films removed from display ( which has very fine scratches on it that were not caused by myself) Oh the hassle !!
  21. That’s interesting.. I’m very surprised at that
  22. It’s not even free in U.K. for returns unless it’s faulty, I suspect same for Thomann
  23. That’s why I’m selling my new Harley Benton Airborne Pro wireless on eBay instead of returning!
  24. When I played a Stingray ( 3EQ ) I would get my sound on the amp with my bass EQ all centred ( no cut or boost ) Then depending on venue I would tweak my bass EQ to suit which on occasions meant cutting some bass ( boomy room ) or adding mids etc but only minor tweaks This worked well for me
  25. I have no need for amp modelling and so many are including this for the studio and recording artist etc As a past guitarist I used Helix FX and it was pretty good but when I decided I loved my amp tone live and needed a boost pedal delay and chorus I sold it and got analogue pedals There are one or two non modelling models but not many and they still have too much for live bass in my opinion
