  1. That’s sounds like it’s wrong / faulty My RM800 has the same input and Line Mix control and it works fine with my iPhone input via adaptor to 1/4” Jack
  2. Ampeg BA110 superb combo or the smaller BA108 both great for home use
  3. Wow we are are virtually neighbours!! Greetings from Eye Suffolk 👍
  4. I agree my interpretation of small PA was really a decent vocal only PA yet loud enough to project over the band itself Singers also seldom know how to adjust a PA or add reverb etc etc Then you have fold back or the lack of it !!
  5. I agree singers don’t feel like a small PA system for at least vocals should be something they invest in. We all expect musicians to own their own amps / drum kits etc etc
  6. You definitely learn how to achieve a good on stage and out front band mix without using House PA systems Ok granted these are often smaller pub or hall venues but getting the right sound is often overlooked by many bands who are oblivious to what works etc etc When a band has discovered that it’s then a lot easier for venues with full PA to make a band sound as they normally do.
  7. That’s been the method I’ve used in every band I’ve played in Typical venues with house PA would be 5 in 100 gigs .. typical for U.K. venues in East Anglia
  8. Avoid using PC mikes they give problems As mentioned use both inputs of your Audio Interface for best results
  9. Biggest problem I had at the start when using Jamkazam was what did my bass and voice chat sound like in volume and loudness. first attempt someone said my bass was only on the left side and not left and right and also level was low even though it appeared not to be according to the level meters Chat using PC microphone was not good very distorted so I changed to using input one on my AI to a Mike input and channel two for my bass straight in Popped into an open session asked if everyone could hear me ok which now they could Found myself playing along with various musicians spread from USA to Scandinavia and it worked fairly well Once you learn the etiquette for joining sessions it works well enough 👍 Agreeing on what to play of course is the thing and having chord charts etc helps to jam along ( I used Ultimate Guitar Tabs on my phone ) Its still not the same feel as a practice room but it’s better than jam tracks and you get to meet in a virtual sense some great folk ... they could even be famous musicians having a go !!!
  10. I’ve been trying Jamkazam and it works fairly well considering I’ve jammed with musicians in the same session but in different countries!! The aim is to get my local music buddies on it to try remote practice etc I think you need a decent internet speed and defo a wired Ethernet connection The quality of the sound through headphones is very good
  11. No worries I purchased an Ashdown head instead 👍
  12. I’ve had this “ next cab to get” dilemma myself .. assuming we get gigging again ! At present I have the Ampeg PF115LF cab and I’m pleased with it but I guess only suitable for small to medium gigs For larger gigs I would need to either get a second PF115LF cab ( most likely ) or get a different cab
  13. Yes it has positions 👍 Good feature
  14. Yes if they are several years old fresh tubes of the same type ie 12AX7 / ECC83 etc etc will make a more reliable amp and perhaps improve the tone too They are not that expensive to as a bonus
  15. I’ve played the swopping tube saga in the past with my old Marshall guitar amps and there are slight differences or some would say huge differences but I didn’t notice it Pre Amp tubes are easy to swop around with some great brands such as JJ, EHX, Svetlana, Groove Tube etc etc Changing worn or faulty tubes is a must but swopping good tubes for bass tone nirvana seldom happens in my opinion unless you get the very expensive tubes but even then I’m not so sure As Lozz said Watford valves are great and very helpful
  16. What’s the RM210 cab like ?
  17. Another +1 for GG I ordered my PF115LF cab from them and it was excellent price and service I’ve found that some of the other big online names often the new products arrive best described as B stock I know it’s tough as stores get so many returns these days even more so as we can’t visit the stores
  18. I just got the ibassline model and popped it on and thought for recording its handy What other use do they provide ?
  19. Mine is in a RokSak ( like a laptop bag ) somewhere for cables too
  20. Another vote for Ashdown less of a one trick pony I would imagine
  21. Audio interface is a piece of kit to connect an instrument or Mike etc to a PC Many around from Focus, Behringer etc etc Mine was the cheap £30 Behringer U2 which is ok but a little basic
  22. My old home town Ipswich where the Celestion factory was based Excellent speakers and worth a few quid now if U.K. made and not Chinese
