  1. Thanks that makes sense .. the two Ashdown cabs are loud enough for what I need right now. Probably equivalent to running a 4x10 so two cabs should be ample really. I don’t need higher volume so maybe it’s not a necessity to upgrade at all !
  2. Question .. would a BF SuperTwin blow my new Ashdown ABM 210 Pro Neo cabs x 2 away ? Just curious if the BF is a fuller deeper sounding cab that would handle a 500w or larger amp and better suited to rock ? Huge price ticket so interested to know if really that much better than say £350 each Ashdown cabs ?
  3. Following on from my post The Pick Club I thought I would post a Finger Tone Club ! The tone from fingers instead of a plectrum or pick is very different and near on impossible to mimic with a pick. The tone is warmer, fuller and contains lower bass tones The physical connection to the bass is greater and that has advantages in feel We are lucky to have many techniques available to us .. I love the pick sound for rock but miss the connection and full ( depth ) to the tone What about you guys ?
  4. My preferred pick
  5. I play mostly rock, indie, punk and find I can play all songs with fingers fine but I’m in a band with one guitarist and I need to be a bit more up front as a bassist hence why I find the pick the better choice for this
  6. I now play 100% pick after playing fingers Who else is part of the all or mostly pick playing bass I have so many types of picks now too Can’t beat the punch and focused tones in my opinion
  7. What is the typical going rate for a four piece band to charge at a typical medium sized pub gig ? I know it’s all variable but interested in what a typical good covers band will get roughly
  8. I’ve just ordered the HB Airborne Pro system as I needed a tuner too Hope that works with bass !! I assume the power adaptor is EU so I can use my U.K. 1Spot I already have
  9. Have you gigged yours ?
  10. Isn’t there a question about 5.8 not being a legal frequency band in the U.K. ? Im sure someone mentioned that on here recently?
  11. Just purchased the Lekato WS-80 2.4ghz wireless for £33 new ! They work very well indeed and I no longer have to trip myself up with my lead !
  12. +1 for Roqsolid covers My ABM210H EVO IV Pro Neo cab covers with yellow trim came from them Excellent covers
  13. The standard does have two moveable Velcro neck rests so that may still work for a short scale
  14. Sorry my mistake you’re correct it was ported .. maybe that’s why it sounded woolly lol 😂
  15. The Ampeg PF115LF isnt ported but it’s a weighty cab but nice sounding I had it before getting the Ashdown
  16. Are the RM cabs rated to 300w each 8ohms ?
  17. The FB1225 is more rigid than the FB610 or other gig bags as it’s 25mm padding. Still possible to flex it but very heavily padded keeps it’s shape The internals have a bass strap pin locator to keep bass from moving and two adjustable Velcro neck supports Outside it has a nice storage pocket for strings, tools etc The outside top and base have reinforced protection to. Its a great bag for £67 !
  18. Bag arrived, it’s great and very heavily padded. Much prefer this over the hard case
  19. That’s classic 🤟
  20. After buying a very basic Tourtech case for my PBass that wasn’t great I decided to buy the FB1225 gig bag. Managed to get GuitarGuitar to price match Thomann at £67 which is a great price . I already have the Fender FB610 for my Yamaha bass but wanted a better padded version for the PBass
  21. Yep for some reason they use different cases. I mentioned it to Ashdown who suggested four stick on rubber feet ! I just bought a sheet of 6mm rubber and it sits on that just fine and it helps reduce cab to head vibration
  22. The RM800 doesn’t sit to well on the cabs with top handle, you will need a rubber mat ideally They have different cases and feet spacing I would imagine the RM500 a good choice with the 210 cab
  23. Wow they are serious money !!
  24. I agree with all of this … often people forget that in a band your role is to entertain the audience and make it a fun experience. You see many bands who think they are there just to play songs and that’s good enough, it really is much more than this. A good band with a good front person can make a huge difference Something missed off the list and again often neglected is sound Listen to what the whole band sounds like and make it the best sound you can achieve more so than accurately playing the songs !
  25. Yes I’ve just ordered some Dunlop Flex triangle picks but in 1mm
