  1. As the Rootmaster carry bag is out of stock I decided to find a case on eBay to transport it around ( when those days return) Pic of one on eBay large enough I hope for the RM800
  2. They respond really quickly if you email them, they are in Essex and very helpful guys
  3. As an owner of the Ashdown RM800 EVO II I would recommend looking at either the RM300 or better still RM500 I went away from my Ampeg PF800 and much prefer the Ashdown The RM800 is very loud so as you were looking at less watts perhaps the smaller versions would suffice but they are priced fairly close to each other. Lots of different sounds and great for rock It’s a well thought out amp and sensible price. Reliable too I believe
  4. It’s interesting that assuming most run the shape button out ?? The EQ settings appear to be very similar between users Mostly a small bass boost I love the low volume tone of the shape button IN but I think you would be buried in the mix perhaps ?? Does add a ton of low end
  5. I think black goes better with Rosewood / Pau fretboards Job done
  6. That’s a result let us all know it arrives safely
  7. Thought I would start an appreciation for the Ashdown Rootmaster series amps I’m a proud owner of the RM800 EVO II Post your comments experiences settings etc etc on any Ashdown Rootmaster RM series amps / cabs etc
  8. Laney are a great U.K. brand that often gets over looked and they have some decent guitar and bass amps The resale value tends to be a problem and I guess if you plan to keep it it’s not a problem Their U.K. service dept is very good too To me they are the U.K. Peavey of the bass world ie not the best brand name but a very good product.
  9. Decided and ordered a 3ply black one
  10. No worries .. hope you get the amp sooner than later 👍
  11. I agree worth waiting for 👍
  12. The Ampeg cab is PF115LF and yes it’s a great sounding cab rated to 400W 8ohms without the flip top
  13. Hi I have a Fender MIM PBass in Silver with white pickguard and Pau fretboard Looking for suggestions to change the pickguard but I’m not sure on colour apart from black Any ideas ?
  14. They do match well visually and sound They come with removable castors too ! I paid just over £300 for the cab last Dec
  15. The Portaflex HE variants have the flip tops ( I don’t like ) and sealed cabs The PF115LF is a ported cab and no flip top and sounds deeper I think They are all decent but I don’t fancy latches holding my cab top together !
  16. They tell me they are expected. Like a lot of goods they are held up at the ports etc
  17. No bag supplied and out of stock at Ashdown at present
  18. Just a note .. mine came minus the mains power lead, quick email to Ashdown and service has posted one out ! I had an old lead to use in the meantime Not sure if they forget to put them in the box but not a problem Will be trying it this afternoon further and enjoy the great sounding amp
  19. and five year warranty to original purchaser if you register 👍
  20. You can always email Ashdown directly if delivery becomes silly Mark ( MD ) is very helpful and made the swop to Ashdown even easier Great company and based in Essex
  21. Ok NAD !! It arrived this morning and a quick test with the Ampeg PF115LF cab First points this is very much louder than the Ampeg PF800 in my opinion EQ and tone adjustment is also better and I found very good tones quickly, the shape button alone gets you nearly there. Fan is very quiet and build quality is good Looks good visually sitting on the Ampeg cab so may keep cab ( it’s a great cab ) Input VU level at first looks like it does get close to the red zone unless you max the input but it becomes apparent that the input level rises also as you boost EQ settings etc, on my PBass passive input set around 1pm was about right I think this is a great lightweight head and think Ashdown have got this line of amps spot on. I would imagine the RM500 would of also been loud enough for me but seeing as the price was virtually the same it was a no brainer really All features seem to work well, compressor ( ok but I tend not to use ) Drive nice if used in moderation and the lovely SubHarmoniser again if used on low is great The only thing I guess I had the ABM115 Ashdown cab but that’s only from a matching look reason !
  22. Yep I noticed the drop in price hence I grabbed one. Mine came from GAK who don’t have stock now but price is still £479 !
