  1. Yes of course but isn’t it traditional for entertainment to run into 2024 to see in the new year ?? That’s the whole point of a NYE gig surely ?? Last gig I did on NYE we played in total for 4 hours 9pm to 1pm and that was typical of many venues
  2. Surely that doesn’t count as a NYE gig as you havnt played into 2024 ? I thought that was the normal for venues ??
  3. In the past it was this But now it’s this ! I seem to have a thing for heavy weight and valves !!
  4. For all my class D heads I put a black rubber beer spill mat on my cab similar to the one below Works perfectly
  5. Happy with this rig .. best sound ever
  6. I found that using the Shape On with a pick fantastic but finger style it pulled too many mids to be useable in a band I also found that not using shape but pulling out 340hz made it sound nicer and used to rotary mids boosted and 1.2khz boosted for clarity No mud just deep clear full bass
  7. I used my Shure GLXD16+ right near to the venues wireless router and zero issues !! Very impressed but then it should be good at that price !!
  8. Yep you’re right .. it’s more for live work than home. Lekato or Boss dongle style would definitely suffice. A caution though as a few of us have had signal distortion from the low cost units ( not all but some even on passive basses ) this might of just been poor component quality ?
  9. Shure GLXd16 + Excellent quality device
  10. I had one for a few months and I liked it. The compressor was superb ( optical ) which added a valve tone with grit Simple EQ and a loud amp Incidentally I tried a mk2 Terror bass head and it went straight back just couldn’t get a tone out of it I liked ! Many rave about them though ! LBT is a very capable amp
  11. Simple choice Spark Booster full model ) Low cost and works well with bass Even though I use an Ampeg V4B I run the spark booster into it to add that extra grunt ! Best for the money in my opinion
  12. Yes these pickups seem to get good reviews for a reasonable price
  13. Could you not find which band played there last and message them for advice ? I never like arriving at a venue I havnt checked out mostly to check the load in access and setup space. Our band has a lot of PA gear ( old heavy tops and subs with a 1k power amp and desk We never need to worry about our sound as we do it every gig
  14. The Dimarzio pickups are definitely aggressive in the mids and not to everyone’s taste but they suit rock very well I struggled to lower them to make them less aggressive and decided they were not for me. I found the standard Fender Original Pickup ( not the CS62 which is a tad dark sounding ) a far better choice for clarity
  15. I found that high mids are very important if fingerstyle on a PBass It naturally has an abundance of low mids but high mids are needed for clarity As a pick player for me it’s the reverse as the pick brings out the high mids so I back off my mids and boost my bass. The result is a full clear punchy sound. Sounds like you’re on the way improving it. In my attempts I have in the past found the Dimarzio DP122 pickup very good but also very hot so that brings other issues !
  16. I just didn’t like flats at all ! Im definitely a roundwound guy and think it suits rock very well
  17. Ampeg SVT112AV lovely cabs Didn’t rate the PF series at all
  18. Roq solid covers are good
  19. Update * Played with the band last night and didn’t use my Compressor ( Ampeg Opto ) and I could tell it was missing especially playing with a pick The Optocomp and my Ampeg V4B seem to pair very nicely together and with a pick it allows me to use the Ultra Low On setting on the V4 and this fills the pick tone out nicely!
  20. Out of interest how much for a 60cm long with Right Hand Jack ?
  21. James purchased my Ashdown ABM600 head and it was a delight dealing with him. Fast hassle free payment and excellent communication Thank you
  22. I think everyone should pop new strings on a secondhand bass ( I even do it on new shop bought basses A set of roundwounds nickel plated would be my suggestion firstly That’s most likely the reason
  23. Yep that’s normally our policy but we thought we would try it once !! Never again !!
