  1. Hi It’s the Ampeg V4B and SVT212AV cab It’s a wonderful rig
  2. Saturday night played in Stowmarket and it was a classic nightmare venue and gig !! Turned up and it’s town centre so no car park, still raining and where we needed to setup a match was being shown on the big screen ! Very drunk and slightly indifferent crowd and and pack away time there was a punch up that then spilled into the street. 6 police cars arrived and it was a quickly dealt with. Late night band trip to McDonald’s and arrived home around 2pm We won’t be going back even though they wanted to book 3 gigs next year !! I don’t think so !!
  3. Last nights gig rig Ampeg V4B with SVT212AV Fender Vintera PBass
  4. No worries.. Im sure it won’t hang around for long as it’s virtually like new and even has an upgraded pickup too. A bargain waiting to be had for someone!
  5. I could meet up in Essex somewhere but that only takes off a couple of hours I guess ?
  6. Maybe find a courier and get it delivered to work if you’re not about at home ?
  7. No worries!! It’s back up for sale on here now !! Although this time I will let buyer book the courier !!
  8. Fender Player Series PBass with Pau Ferro neck Colour metallic Silver with black pickguard and upgraded HiMass Fender bridge Upgraded pickups Fender Original Series Pickup fitted As new condition Original box so can be shipped if courier arranged by buyer ( U.K. only ) Lovely example

  9. I’ve had the 2x10 double cabs and it works but !! Get the Ampeg SVT212AV 4ohm cab and you can gig anywhere with a single cab and head They are weighty but easy to carry really and sound great Highly recommended I think someone is selling a complete Ampeg rig on here too, maybe ask if cab is possible to sell on its own as it’s £450 ! Birmingham area I believe Or find a couple of old Ashdown ABM210H cabs but each one is nearly as heavy as the SVT212AV
  10. We are about to add Living on a Prayer with a pick it sounds empty
  11. As it’s been pointed out I was probably over thinking this pick / fingers dilemma for ages Since going over to the Ampeg V4B it doesn’t seem to matter either way as they both sound great ! Im going to gig this weekend using fingers only ( previous gig was pick ) and I’m already enjoying the physical connection again. All our set seems to work fine with either method !
  12. I too tend to prefer tweeters off but if I recall on my old Ashdown cabs it had three positions, off, low and high. I ran it either off or low I still do the same on my Ampeg cab as it adds a tiny bit of presence I feel but generally I’m a tweeter off guy
  13. You won’t find many shops ( especially here in Essex / Suffolk ) that will have a lot of stock, especially after Covid Best U.K. store probably Andertons Guildford but even they have low stock and choice. You are buying blind but you can return in 14days so for the returns cost you do get to try them, even take them to rehearsal night etc ! Very tough choosing and that’s the benefit of BC most on here have owned virtually every amp made and certainly the current production models !!
  14. Ashdown are in Essex and if you called them I’m sure they would allow you to demo an amp or two Failing that Peach Music Colchester would be your best bet but you need to make an appointment! Or .. you could buy blind the Magellan 800 for sale on here which is one of the best Class D amps around today
  15. Likewise I’m a converted pick player and find it’s easier getting an acceptable clear tone with a pick instead of fingerstyle Since going all valve I really notice the difference an amp makes too. We ( singer and I ) are wireless and both help with sound checks yet there are times it’s still not right, mostly vocals need to come up
  16. It’s amazing they haven’t changed the look much over the years Even the black EVO 5 still looks close in design Just sold my EVO IV as I’ve gone full valve again but I can definitely say they are special amps for sure
  17. If you’re using the MG800 make sure the contour control is fully anti clockwise !
  18. I use DPD direct with the App but for reason you cannot ship parcels longer than 100cm Yet they deliver from shops basses in boxes all the time !
  19. Yep this is the reason it went wrong ! The buyer said he was seldom at home to receive deliveries so chose Argos In Sainsbury’s!! Why oh why did UPS think that RTS meant some random address that clearly wasn’t the sender’s address !! I think UPS said the label had Parcel2go logo on it so they assumed they sent it !! The POD said front desk so I knew it wasn’t residential but I couldn’t find any depot listed !! UPS were also unhelpful that they wouldn’t divulge the address they dropped it back to !! Idiots !!
  20. These are fantastic amps and the ability to run at 2.67ohms is a star feature 👍 GLWYS
  21. I tend to use the same settings all the time .. LOUD !
  22. So I recently sold a bass on EBay and the shipping address was Argos in Sainsburys Using Parcel2go I booked a UPS shipment and on the delivery day it was rejected by Argos ( too large ) I told the buyer this and he decided to have a refund instead which I sorted in full. He kindly covered the UPS charge and reimbursed me so all good but !!! UPS had it as RTS return to sender and a few days later in showed via tracking it was delivered in Gosport !! I live in Suffolk !! Contacted UPS and they were hopeless and said I would have to speak to Parcel2go directly And begins the problem there is nobody on a phone only online help which kept saying it was delivered so cannot help further!!! Grrrrr !!! This went on for a week or so but I found Parcel2go on Facebook and sent a message .. a day later they replied and seemed to accept UPS returned it to a Parcel2go depot in Gosport !! They agreed to ship it back via DPD and today nearly 3 weeks later it came home and thankfully it was in perfect condition. That’s the last time I will use Parcel2go as the customer service is shocking and too automated so it’s hard to get them to help quickly Relieved my bass is back and I have decided to sell it on here and see how it goes
  23. I had many years non-playing after selling all my gigging gear. I guess it was a period in my life where music took a backseat When I got back into it and also a spell on guitar in a couple of start up bands I knew I should be back on bass. I was lucky as the current and last band that I will be in are great friends and it’s made it real fun as a hobby. For me I think it will be age ( I’m 63 ) that will decide when enough is enough
  24. I don’t know the genre of music you play but I suspect you are a finger style player ? I struggled with clarity and punch with fingers on all my PBass guitars even trying numerous pedals and amps to improve it The result was playing with a pick !! The improvement was night and day and after dropping mids and boosting bass the pick played PBass sounded awesome with clarity Worked for me
  25. I had one of those for a while Nice cabs
