From what I’ve read is that the necks are very stable and truss rod adjustment is rarely needed unless changing string gauge etc Out if the box it was setup perfectly ( very different to how the Player series are set or lack of it ) It does appear to be just that little bit more special and with shops clearing out stock they are closer to Player series pricing compared to a few years ago. I’m really liking mine and the neck and frets and better lower action make it an easier bass to play. Pickup is better as is the tone control .. far more usable treble reduction without the low end becoming woolly. Even the bridge is better albeit basic but the threaded saddles are a huge improvement over the Player Series that suffer from movement and screws working themselves out ! Great bass

I like my bass to be felt and heard and I don’t like standing still at the back. Our singer is always moving around a lot and we often bump into each other but she is a curvy hot chick so no complaints from me lol 😂

My ABM600 is whisper quiet as long as input gain isn’t goosed !!

Eek yuk !! No thank you Fender heavy 346 picks for me 🤟

Just played the Vintera with a pick Wow sounds bloody amazing !
-
Another point is the action is lower without fret clank / buzzing compared to the Player Series I think the neck radius and fret types seem to make an improved difference in getting a lower action, neck quality too of course
-
Yep the Seafoam green is a lovely looking bass Strange about the pickup output, mine is around the same signal strength as my Player Series
-
Yep threaded saddles .. so good I’m going to take my HiMass Bridge off my Player Series

They seem to be selling the stocks off Mine was £799 I believe a Vintera II is due out ( 60’s ) ??

Yep .. I’ve just ordered two of these for my Player Series PBass Are they decent ?

Just purchased a new Vintera PBass and I’m very impressed with the quality and sound. Nicer than my Player Series PBass and highly recommend. Neck is a delight to play, awesome pickup too, even the vintage bridge is nice and works well I might consider a black pickguard but I’m not sure yet.

I think some sign up make a profile and then give up looking or responding

If you pay you can send messages on Bandmix and receive messages too of course. It’s not the best of sites to be honest but it can lead to finding other musicians etc

Where can I buy the grooved vintage bridge saddles from ? Ideally with screws Looking to change my Hismass bridges back to standard plate type but upgrading the saddles instead of the one slot kind. I have the bridges from the player series but really like the vintage bridge as found on the Vintera so converting would be preferred with buying just the four saddles

Great amps .. I miss mine

In addition the RM cabs are ok but a better 212 cab like the SVT212AV would blow away the RM series played loud. Lovely tone from the SVT212AV and closest to the 810 in a small package I sold all my Ashdown cabs even the more expensive ones as the Ampeg was better in every way apart from the weight ! Worth it for the sound and rated 600w

Hi I’ve owned both and the new SGT pedal The SVT 3Pro has got power but you need to push the graphic EQ sliders to get close to the rated 450w but it still feels lacking The SCR-DI is nice but I didn’t like the Scrambler at all. The SGT is an amazing improvement but I sold mine as it still lacked a certain something. Enter the Genzler 4 on the floor pedal and that is in a different class as it retains your bass and amp tone but adds a fantastic light to medium drive as required. It’s best bit is the adjustable HPF and LPF which make it a fantastic sounding pedal Personally I would keep the Ashdown and put a pedal in front of it .. even a basic TC Spark Booster makes the ABM come alive

Yep they look a nice bass too

I’ve read some good reviews on the current Vintera PBass Im aware access to truss rod is at the neck heel and the neck is wider Well I have one on the way ( in the sale £799 at GAK ) so Tuesday will be NBD !!

What’s the Vintera PBass like compared to say player series ? Any owners on here ?

I’ve found that my plucking hand technique is at its best when I play with a very light touch and especially with faster playing ( think Iron Maiden ) Got me thinking about how light is too light ? Am I losing anything in tone by not digging in ( from the bass point of view not the amp ) A good indicator is your amp inputs gain led ( or Ashdown VU meter needle ) When I play with the band I do have a tendency of digging in more which I guess is down to volume or desire for more ! Do you guys pluck lightly or more heavy handed ??

I tune in Eb standard on all my basses for the band
